I love you attention to detail and lack of body filler. I know some is always needed BUT cleaning up the backside of the bucket and slicing the ridge of the fender done amazing results.. GREAT VIDEO!
Joe, I have had several antique cars restored and I know what attention to detail means. Your sharing of your knowledge is a breath of fresh air. Wish I was a Mustang guy, for it must be fiberglass.
Excellent video. I have a 70 Chevelle and bought aftermarket fenders and headlight bezels and they definitely didn't line up. I definitely will use what you did as an example to get that tight fit! Keep showing us how to do it right. Thanks.
Joe, I JUST did exactly the same thing on mine! I must be a few weeks ahead. Your other tips led me to the exact two fixes that you did here. Your videos are helping people really do this work. Proof! Thank you!
Bro, you are in my opinion one of the best auto body men in my entire world. It is a pleasure watching you work. Your teaching style is smooth perfection. Thank you for sharing your extensive knowledge. Keep up the perfect work!
I'm really glad you are doing this convertible because you do stuff that I would never figure out to do to fix this blend of new and old parts back into a car. Fortunately for me, my original front fenders saved but I had to buy new headlight assemblies. I trial fitted all that before I took it back apart to replace the core support. Since I got the headlights, grille and grille molding aligned well I removed that whole thing as an assembly so hopefully it will go back on there. I have a problem making my valance corners line up with the front fenders and it appears that the valance flanges on my fenders were mostly chopped off. I'm going to have to cut out templates and make new flanges to mount the front valance and of course, they have to have the right shape so the lines match up. I sometimes wish you would have more problems on what you are doing so I can learn more stuff, LOL. Sorry but the more you do, the more I learn and I am obviously like a lot of other people watching you build this car. I hope you don't mind me doing this but I put a thread out on the VMF which I am a long time member of and there were quite a few people that knew your website. I politely shamed them for not contributing to your Patreon account. Hopefully that brought you some more contributors and there are several thousand people roaming through the VMF.
Hi Barry, thanks for the graight job and for showing us how to repair the problem. I must admit that I would have missed those blocked holes. Graight job.
Yet another great video showing the difficulties that arise in getting parts to fit out of the box and the thought out correct way to attain a much better fit and finish. Great work!
anytime you can go from needing 1/4 inch of filler down to 1/16 or less to make it look great and fit great it's a huge win . Great work as always ! i been using your tips on my 66 F100 cab and it is looking much better .
Hi, I am near the same stage with my 66 convertible. I was wondering how to make the front end fit look good. Your explanation covered it all in detail. The front end fit is so important to the overall finish. Thx from Australia. Subscribed just now
Great video Barry. Working on my garage plans so I can get started on the GT fastback. Can’t wait to put the knowledge I’ve learned from your video is to good use
Outstanding work! Again, I cannot believe how much work goes into these aftermarket parts. Honestly, they sometimes look as though they were built from memory! Great work making them fit
Love your work, very informative. Thanks for all the little issues you address as well as the large ones, you're good at your job and I would not hesitate to have you do work for me.
EXCELLENT,! Thankyou for showing this. On mine I have 4 original buckets to chose from...all with missing tabs and have been toying with low temp white metal welding using my son's toy diecast toys as donor material. It's great to know I can at least go to aftermarket and modify as you have when my approach doesn't cut the mustard. Your videos showing your thinking process and approach are perfect... Thankyou.
Great job as always. I have found that for every aftermarket fender or quarter panel, I have had to cut spot welds to help shape the part to fit better. Very good attention to detail, keep it up, we appreciate all of the videos and the tips that you give us.
Theses videos are dangerous. I'm deep in the middle of my Dunning Kruger level of knowledge of bodywork and you make these look much easier than it really is.
California pony makes a kit the fixes the broken bucket area 5:38 minute mark of this video. Got one on order now. Part number BOD-646-331. Can be ordered from summit or CJ’s as well.
My wife and I acquired a '64 1/2 Mustang convertible so when I saw your project, I was extremely interested. I have to admit that we're very fortunate that our project car is pretty solid. Your videos are great, thank you for posting them! I am wanting to know if you plan to replace the rag top and if you'll make a video for it. ???
I love all the detail and fixes you show for the fitment problems you've encountered. Where do you get the little rotary file you use? I didn't see it on your amazon shop list.
The eyebrow (top) of my right side headlight door comes down at a sharp angle instead of forming a gradual transition front the fender. The result is a gap between the corner of the hood and the headlight door. Can the eyebrow be “bent” up or reshaped by hand easily?
My friend actually has a fix for the crack at the top of the headlight bucket. He fabricated a special repair bracket (I used one myself) out of metal and has a template. I am having ANOTHER friend try to 3d print it...I can send you a picture on FB
Yay! The Brooklyn pony has a nose! As usual, Barry your patience & persistence pays off. Thanks again. I've lost track, is this a customer's car or your own?
Yeah I wrote that before you mentioned it. Sound like you had a heck of a storm going on. Enjoy your videos you keep me on track when I’m wanting to slack or just let something go, watch your videos an think ok I need to fix it right can’t let you out do me cause I’m a perfectionist to lol
You are my go to guy! I can always count on you to help me do it right... Thank you for what you do.
Man you take a lot of time getting things right. I had a similar situation on mine, but I filled the bucket with bondo. Hats off to you.
thats a good vid, I learned alot by the relief cuts you have made. thank you for the good ideas.
Amazing work. I wish you lived next door to me! You are a wealth of good knowledge for everything Mustang!
Outstanding. I'm close to starting my project and this video has definitely given me knowledge I did not have. Thanks.

Super helpful Barry. Thanks.
Damn!!! Nice work.
THANK YOU...for sharing. Very nice, patience you have.
Lately, I have been watching you religiously. Comparing everything I do to what you do. This has been so helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video, thanks!
As always extraordinary quality in your work and videos.
Another great job

The sound of rolling thunder was better than the music :-)
Great video, thanks!
Another awesome video! I had planned to go to bed but had to stay up for the whole 46 minutes. Best! Gary
I don’t own an old mustang but I am definitely learning how how to make panels fit better. Super interesting
Awesome job, as always. Have come to expect nothing less from you!
Man do I enjoy your videos and attention to detail!

Barry you did a nice blend fitment on this can't say it enough about your work it speaks for itself thumbs up.
Looking good brother, coming out nicely keep up the awesome work
Love your work, very informative. Thanks for all the little issues you address as well as the large ones, you're good at your job and I would not hesitate to have you do work for me.
You are soooo perfectionist. I follow this story since part 1 and I am really impatient to watch the next episod. Keep us the good work Barry👍👍👍👍

I really like how it turned out. Very nice!
I really enjoy how exacting you are with your projects.
It's all about details. Looks amazing.
A great and informative video and I agree It's all in the details keep it up.
awesome work man.. great stuff.. exactly what I'll be working on next.. still have to get my door/fender/hood gaps.
FANTASTIC!! Nice work and well explained for the depth you went into on this.
wow now that it the right way to do it
Yep! Just watched this one for the third time! Gary
Barry, I have always struggled with the fitment of aftermarket fenders with either OEM or aftermarket buckets. Thanks for all the tips.
It is interesting how the average guy would put that fender on and be lost in the fitment dept. Your experience really shows! Nice work!
I am impressed, thank you
Very impressive
WOW - awesome job

hi nice work
Subbed! Thank you.
I’ve been wondering about those buckets. Gotta do this to mine eventually.

That's uncertain at this point.
@@JoDaddysGarage Ha Ha... and that's about where I am. I'll keep watching as you go.
I would like to see how you handle the upper rock guard to fender mismatch. Only if you think anyone else would like to see it.
That may stay the way it is. It's behind the bumper.
I have to ask this.
With all you have shown us. How many teenager's now want there fathers to build them a mustang?
Keep it up.👍👍
I love all the detail and fixes you show for the fitment problems you've encountered. Where do you get the little rotary file you use? I didn't see it on your amazon shop list.
Thanks! I've had the burr tools for years. I'll add some links. Here's one that appears to be the same. amzn.to/3i43TAz
The eyebrow (top) of my right side headlight door comes down at a sharp angle instead of forming a gradual transition front the fender. The result is a gap between the corner of the hood and the headlight door. Can the eyebrow be “bent” up or reshaped by hand easily?
I have reshaped them. If it's an aftermarket hood, it will likely bend easier.
My friend actually has a fix for the crack at the top of the headlight bucket. He fabricated a special repair bracket (I used one myself) out of metal and has a template. I am having ANOTHER friend try to 3d print it...I can send you a picture on FB
did you check the fender against an original headlight extension?
I did. Same results.
Ever have a issue with the headlamp wiggling after installed? One of mine does, one don't. I'm confused why.
They have to be set straight. There are notches to n the bucket for the light to fit into.
@@JoDaddysGarage the bucket it's self is what's wiggling. Not the head lamp.
Mr. Joe just curious how to get a title on a car that you build from the ground up?
Not sure. I'm using parts from the original car, and it has a title.
I have only seen a few of your videos so the answer to my question might be in another video. Why didn't you mate the extension to the hood?
I mated the hood to the extension.
Yay! The Brooklyn pony has a nose! As usual, Barry your patience & persistence pays off. Thanks again. I've lost track, is this a customer's car or your own?
Customer.
Barry do you have any videos that addresses bubbly cancer area repairs on the edges of the rear quarter panel wheel openings?
Sorry, I do not.
Dynacorn should watch your videos. They could see where their production needs to be tweaked.
more BP!
Is the music by Molly Hemsley? Just curious...
Nice work, I enjoy your videos.
Don't think so. It's a part of my editing software.
When you say music. I thought you would play Mustang Sally.
If it wasn't copyrighted, I would.
Do I hear thunder lol
Yep.

thank you Barry for another great fine tuning tip, but please no more music, it was nerve racking....
Sorry. I hate leaving blank spaces. Maybe something more mellow?
@@JoDaddysGarage the natural sound even at 10x is music to my ear...lol
If your going to go to the trouble to make the forms etc. to manufacture parts WHY not make sure it is right!!!
You don't have to show your PPE before using power tools. Safety Sally's comments can be deleted.
