You should definitely give the car guards some spare change as they look after your car. There are so many people that break into cars or steal the tyres of cars in South Africa. So giving them a R5 or R10 is really appreciated. Also crime in Cape Town is quite high even for locals. Never walk alone in the day or night. Always keep you phone, wallet and cameras in a safe space. If you're driving at night, never stop at the red light.. drive slow and anticipate when it'll turn green. Overall Cape Town is a beautiful city with so much rich history, cultures and a variety of places you can go to. You should definitely check out the Garden Route next. It spreads between Wildnerness, George, Plettenberg Bay, Mossel Bay and so much more. Beautiful scenic route between mountain ranges and waterfalls nearly 200m from the road. Truly something out of a fairy tale ♥.
Of course, I am sure that the first thing anyone from Europe or North America will ask you about South Africa is the crime. Cape Town is a place that I have wanted to visit for a long time, but the crime rate (and especially violent crime) I'm sure scare a lot of people away. Of course, we know that these issues can be overblown in the media, and controlled by White Western media and colonizers. I was wondering what your personal experience was like, being on the ground in/around Cape Town. I know in your Cost of Living (Cape Town) video, you interviewed the older white man who said that everyone has a scam/trick to rob you - and maybe they do - but if you could tell us a little about your experience as a tourist dealing with possible crime - and if you felt safe enough in Cape Town/South Africa to recommend moving there. Thank you again - keep up the great videos!
First of all, thanks for commenting and thanks for your kind words. I never felt unsafe actually, when it gets dark I wouldn't Walk around the Streets alone. I did it once and I didn't feel really safe. Overall there is no problem during day time and I can only recommend visiting this beautiful place! For me it would probably be difficult to recommend moving there as it's so different from Europe and I'm used to this standard of living. I hope I answered your questions. Have a great day/night, wherever you are in the world.
@@pattifilms7858 if you are a tourist in Cape Town, it's best to stick around nearer to Central Cape Town where there are lots of other tourist. But don't make the mistake of doing all your activities over there, make sure to go as far as Simon's Town in your tours with stops in Kalk Bay and Hout Bay, your also don't want to miss out on visiting the vineyards in Costantia and Steenberg. I am from Cape Town and I was born and raised here :) I love traveling and I have explored every inch of my City. I always help tourist!
Actually, i will be visiting CT soon and i am in a search of a rental vehicle. Thank you for suggesting Rentacheapie, my question is how well are these cars maintained and what is their mechanical condition? How old is the fleet?
