I 100% agree with the idea of bringing back the bending knees for all Barbies, rather than only made-to-moves etc. the stiff straight legs make it so hard for the dolls to sit or do anything beyond stand.
and it looks so stiff and ugly, I almost never had articulated dolls as a kid except for the fashionistas (that level of articulation blew my mind and I started collecting lol) but the basic bodies back then looked so natural and could still pose looking good with 5 points of articulation, current bodies look awful to me
exactly!! they're just dolls it's a personal preference it's not like excluding real body types or anything lol I love having variety but that's just me, I get it tho cause sometimes you can't put them on certain shoes or clothes like having flat feet dolls
It's ok to have preference. But they're should be a variety of sizes coz not everyone have the same preferences. And it would be fun if there's a lot of kind to choose.
The dolls are cute. Although I am over the millie face mold. The only complaint I have about the different body types is that Mattel doesn't make enough shoes or clothes to fit them especially the petite. Other than that I don't mind different body types. They are called fashion dolls after all so they should have fashion for them. I imagine if you take the redheads ponytail down her hair may be waist length? I don't like open mouth dolls though. Thanks for the video.❤
I like how the fashionistas all look weird when together. It’s like people, everyone has a unique style. And the fashionistas line is like a rolling series where there’s not a set number of dolls in a series (like with Looks, color reveal, etc). Otherwise it would be too boring.
Literally! They gave her the platform heels and everything! Should have put her in the petite body mold too. Haha see how far they can push it before Sabrina sues for stealing her likeness 🤣🤣
the butterfly denim one is 100% giving Dolly Parton vibes, just saw all of Dolly's new products at Dollar General and it all has this vibe, blue and butterflies
Indeed she is. We have eyes for the same doll🤭. I had just seen this video. I hope your day is lovely with you 🙏🏻. I am writing from Lincolnshire England!
I loved the Sunshine Family! I remember making the strawberry basket cradle for the baby...such good memories! I also had a few Barbies and I loved them equally- Barbie married G.I. Joe and they had a few kiddles and Buffy as kids. When I got the Sunshine Family I was THRILLED since I always played "family" and now I had a real family! These dolls were super cute and lovable. I wish they would bring them back. 😢
I LOVE the doll in the purple dress! I hear she has a new head sculpt, and it’s lovely! She is a must have for me! I’m also excited about the tall doll in the gingham dress with the carnival face sculpt! I like that she has orange lipstick, which is rather rare on Barbie dolls, and I love her long, black hair! She’s super cute! I also like the doll in the denim dress with the lavender streaks in her hair, she does look a little bit sad, but because the print on the dolls is not always absolutely the same, I’m hoping to find one that maybe has a softer look to her. I also like the Millie doll with the metallic pink dress! I don’t really collect a lot of Millie, because they look so alike, but I do have a handful in my collection that I really love. Will most likely buy this one to show Mattel that this is the kind of clothing, and feminine feel, that needs to come back to the line!
i really miss the themed ball gown`s fashionistas. i wish that Mattel would release a ballgown line. i miss the glamour, the campiness, the over the top!! and they don't have to be a very intriquet or complicated dress but just a little bit of glamour and high fashion.
I never bought fashionistas for myself, but if the Barbie in a pink dress really comes out next year, I will definitelly buy her, because this is The Barbie, this is the Barbie look and Barbie should look like this🩷🩷🩷I love that she looks like the Barbie after so many years. Thank you, Mattel. (Apologize for my poor English).
Indeed you are right. We have eyes for the same type of doll🤭. I had just seen this video. I hope your day is lovely with you 🙏🏻. I am writing from Lincolnshire England!
i rejoined your patreon !!! i love the doll community i talk to The Dolls Witness and now i feel like we are homies too you guys make me feel so seen!!! and i have always been into vintage and 70s plastics too thank you for making me feel less alone or weird but as a gen xer with Cerebral Palsy I embrace my weirdness
7:43 I think it’s fine to not like certain body molds in your personal collection. Because it’s your collection and you should enjoy it. As long as you aren’t campaign for Mattel to get rid of them or saying that others who do like them are wrong, you’re fine. It’s the whole thing of, you can do things however you would like as long as you aren’t hurting anyone. And collecting some dolls but not others isn’t hurting anyone. Especially since you aren’t saying that they are ugly or anything. They just aren’t how you like your shelves to look.
Thanks for the video, last month I went back home to visit and I found my Barbies I had the Hart Family Mom and The Dream Glow Barbie, I need to fix their neck and their hair is in bad condition! I'm wondering if I should re-root their hair! Barbie absolutely needs to have bending knees and elbows!
I thought the "theme" was supposed to be current fashions, hence the name? In any case, the last doll is definitely my favorite! I also love her hair. Always exciting for a new video from you! :)
They get a bad rap. They aren't for collectors they are for kids. I like to to get the ones with nice faces and use them as models for my extra clothes. They use more diverse face molds than collector dolls. They also go real cheap if you wait.
@Put_down_dem_perkies I also really don't care that they aren't articulated. I love Made to Move, but I don't have to make every doll one. It's so much of an added cost to do so. I would rather use that money for another doll.
Thanks for showing this very tiny Fashionista line. I was at my Target yesterday and there were 0 Fashionistas in stock! The 1st and last ones you showed could be friends. The others were tacky and ugly, to me!
The auto captions insist you were saying "fashion Easter" thru the whole vid and every time, I went "but it's August... OH" I have the memory span of a dish towel I guess

Clothing manufacturing is in the toilet….. you really think with current production costs Mattel is gonna “look in the past”….. there’s eBay….. you can find a gazillion 90s fashion packs available
I'll definitely get the last one with purple dress. And maybe the first one with pink dress and the second last. I liked the different coloured straps on her dress. I liked the butterfly dress, the belt and her hair with purple highlights but the doll itself was kinda meh.
I feel like modern Barbie’s have less elements to them compared to the dolls of my childhood. Like, as you were saying adding a little jacket to some of the dolls could have been cute. I think the different sizes are cool but I feel like it would look a lot less strange if they had more articulation instead of being so stiff. The first one really looks like Barbie if that makes sense. Like I'd imagine a Barbie doll in that outfit. Second and 5th one were both cute. 3rd one not a fan and 4th was OK but dress was a bit bussy for me.
You're not the only one who think their Barbie's should be the same size because that what i also want for my 80's collection, and the reason i like to have my dolls the same size so that I can occasionally replace my Barbie's with other Barbie's, the Barbie's that are at the back for so many years, I can place them now to the front so that I don't have to look at the same Barbie's over and over again, because they are all equally dear to me so i want to look at them all if i can. 😉
I like the variety of the New Fashionistas (aka they have hearing aids, prosthetic limbs etc.) However, I’d like more articulation and a bit more attention to detail in their fashions.

@@alixmcknightoh yeah i like the different body types, but mattel doesn't make the clothes for every body type and it gets annoying when you buy a fashion pack and it doesn't fit the doll, that's why we have a lot of shirt dresses and less pants
Love your videos. More articulation yes please. Or at least they should get rid of that bent arm. I think all Barbie's that aren't those dolls with made on swimsuits for 5$ should come with a brush again. I wish they'd make a fashionista Ken with a mustache also. The butterfly doll gave me Dolly Parton vibes. A butterfly is her logo.
I 100% agree with the idea of bringing back the bending knees for all Barbies, rather than only made-to-moves etc. the stiff straight legs make it so hard for the dolls to sit or do anything beyond stand.

Don’t feel bad or small minded for having preferences. Everyone has preferences.
exactly!! they're just dolls it's a personal preference it's not like excluding real body types or anything lol I love having variety but that's just me, I get it tho cause sometimes you can't put them on certain shoes or clothes like having flat feet dolls

I'd been like "It's Barbies PARENTS" [With Taller dolls]
The 1st one is giving me Sabrina Carpenter vibes. And I love the tall Gingham and Petite Cheerleader girl.
i thought the exact same thing! and the last one is giving olivia rodrigo lol
Was literally going to say that! The short dress, heart cutout and platform heels MUST be an intentional Sabrina reference.
I just cannot deal with pixelated eyes
Same, no matter how the doll looks like or how nice it might be! I still dont understand how they get away with it.
The dolls are cute. Although I am over the millie face mold. I would kill for Odile or Lina to replace ugly plain Millie.
Finally some cute, femenine Barbies! I feel so nostalgic right now ❤
I personally Love the petite dolls, because I’m petite, now if they’d make a curvy petite like me it’d be perfect
The Down Syndrome Dolls are smaller and curvy. Maybe that's what you're looking for?
Same, I love petite and I love the diversity in body size and shapes. Would love to see a curvy petite :)
Same
I think Barbie Looks #24 is a curvy petite... that one's more expensive than a Fashionista, though
the down syndrome barbies have a petite body mold that is more similar in shape to the curvy one if you're willing to body swap your mini-me
I love the 2010s gal, With the greek face mold !!! She is definitely getting bought by me!
No bend in the knee makes the doll feel so incredibly cheap. Like a dollar store doll
I like how the fashionistas all look weird when together. It’s like people, everyone has a unique style. And the fashionistas line is like a rolling series where there’s not a set number of dolls in a series (like with Looks, color reveal, etc). Otherwise it would be too boring.
Bend knees would make me buy some of these dolls, 100%!
Loooove the purple one. Def getting her
Yes you are correct - her mouth does look a bit weird 😂
I definitely like the last two dolls. They're on my wishlist. Clearly the star of this wave is the Barbie in the purple dress. ✨
I think I like the one in the lilac bubble skirt best.
The purple and silver fashionista is my favorite and she looks a little like roquelle
6:08 ok I need her!!! Just for the outfit alone. I’d love to see how her hair looks out of the ponytail
Yall remember when that flower pattern from that dress was everywhere with barbie
Okayy the millie one is giving sabrina carpenter if only mattel give her a more make up it will be a kinda a perfect doll ❤❤
Literally! They gave her the platform heels and everything! Should have put her in the petite body mold too. Haha see how far they can push it before Sabrina sues for stealing her likeness 🤣🤣
In my mind the most beautiful Barbie Fashionistas is Barbie inspired to Barbie dollTotally Hair '90's. I hope you will talk about her soon!!
Putting the new Barbie Fashionistas on my wish list.
I like the last doll and outfit the most .
the butterfly denim one is 100% giving Dolly Parton vibes, just saw all of Dolly's new products at Dollar General and it all has this vibe, blue and butterflies
I love the Millie in pink and the last one with lavander outfit, that girl is a YES for me!!!

*wonder which dolls are the athletic body type. If you like The Radio City Rockets then to each their own. 😊
You're right about the ginger doll, if I get her, I'll paint the lips a darker shade.
7:38 I live for the petite dolls & Skipper dolls. As someone who is petite I feel so seen with these dolls. I love them
I’m living for all of these dolls. The outfits r so freaking cute I can’t wait

Definitely want the purple one 😍
A lot of these Fashionistas are cool to look out for. Thank you for sharing, the pink dressed Barbie and the purple one I’m excited for!
