Not everyone can pick up a new language easily, but just about everyone loves a story. Stories hold one's attention much better than spoonfuls of phrases, or helpings of grammar. Maybe that's why this is, for me, by far the best language learning approach of all. And I've done them all.

Hi, everyone. My name's Jacinta. I' m Brazilian and live in Itu, Brazil. My native language is Portuguese. I'm an English teacher and I always was in love with English. Recently I found another passion. French. It's amazing how this channel can help me improving my English and learning French at the same time. I listen to the stories, take the vocabulary notes ( always with translation in English ) giving special attention to the new and different words and set a part the ones similar to English and Portuguese, which by the way are a lot. This helps with the following stage of my study that's listening and taking notes of the whole text step by step. It's s working! I realize that I'm m really learning French. The more a listen to the stories the more I learn! Thank you very much for this opportunity!

I wish you'd keep the subtitle text up for just a second longer, so I can listen to the voice over and then glance over at the text to see if I got it right. Currently, the text disappears instantly after the last word is spoken by the narrator.

This is a big problem for me too. As soon as the dialogue is spoken in the first part, the text immediately disappears. I do not get far with these videos because I am constantly having to scroll back and find my place.
Aslo PLEASE take out the English voice. It is enough to have the English in subtitles. We have to wait and hear and English voice even when we don't want it. For those of us pressed for time, we just want to get on with the French and then just quickly check our own understanding. (By doing this you will also make your videos shorter, and most likely get more clicks.)

Bonjour. I am an American native English-speaker. I very much LIKE the calm, measured voice and the even tones of the narrator, because in this way the listener can absorb and increase his understanding of the structure & the vocabulary "without" becoming *distracted* by unnecessary variations in tone (!!!!) The stories are also pleasant. Thank-you for making these "just the way they are" (!!!) These stories are an EXCELLENT LEARNING TOOL 🤗

Thank you so much for the video, the story has good structure and one can learn new vocabularies and expressions from it. My only suggestion is that, the narrator could speak in a more realistic tone, having some ups and downs with more emotion, like scenarios in real life. Thanks again for the video.

Thanks for this lesson, very nice structure of learning. One thing that I don't like is that all lessons are too sweet! Can you please write some that reflect more realistic scenario? What I mean there are always up and down in the life, not everything is sugar coated 😂

You have to change the first and the second parts. Because the first part I don't understand and I listen to the second part. After that I can listen to the first part.
In the second part it is better to say in English then in French. Because I want to know the meaning then I repeat in French.

I think this is the most effective way to learn. By not understanding the story at first you condition your brain to want to learn it. It makes your brain eager to learn what everything means, which happens in part 2
