Philip Turner (AKA "The Battousai," after his RUclips channel) was standing on the sidewalk, across the street from the police station, recording. Several police officers came over, including at least one police car. Turner was questioned about what he was doing. The officers then demanded he provide identification, which he refused, citing Texas law which does not require a person to identify themselves unless arrested. According to the complaint, officers put Turner in the back seat of the cruiser, since he refused to give ID, saying "We're gonna make you sweat," and Turner demanded to speak to a supervisor. Lieutenant Driver showed up, also requesting Turner's identification which was also refused. After a short period of time, which was not more particularly described, Turner was released. Even though we had to 'dress up' to go to what must have been an elegant establishment, it was such a thrill to be so close to those monster fish 3-4 ft was bigger than we were. Yup, Texas in the early 1970's... and gas was 35 cents a gallon...

I'm not sure why they continue to wreck your shot with the torch, it's just childish spiteful behavior. They could light you up from the legs but this guy was straight in the lens even when you moved. Good to see you back Mr. Turner, I've been following you since early days.
when cops continue to say “ok” over and over, they are either being completely dismissive or completely condescending. this jackass is trying to equate auditing, 1st Amendment rights, to misdeeds and lawbreaking by his officers. It’s absurd. Also, “we don’t care if you record, just don’t get too close” while having TV shows that glorify cops having their cameras right up in the action. Why is it any different for civilians?
While the Deputy Chief seemed to say all the right things…it is his patrol officer(s) who: kept a flashlight on Phil for a prolonged period of time (disrupting the video capture); refused to provide name & badge# upon request; & even gleefully admitted on their BWCs they were going to take steps to specifically avoid Phil after their stop and purposefully deny him the requested ID info. So, the deputy chief’s comments provide good cover for his Dept…but talk is cheap, & we have all seen on Phil’s 1st Belton video that his officers are NOT doing what he admits they should be doing. Thus a leadership failure…whether unintentional or by design.
Internal Affairs investigate the person complaining. I used to work in the news biz, and I can't recall one complaint, even with audio, video, witnesses... that ever resulted in more than a form letter (usually misspelled) being sent stating no policy violations were found.
That old cop couldn't be honest if the truth slapped him upside the face. His department obviously hate cameras as demonstrated by the complaint being filed and the door lady asking if "the camera is necessary". I wouldve liked his lies to be questioned harder.
I've missed Philips calm polite manner, all auditors should be this way.. A bad cop has nothing to stand on when you are polite and have a calm manner..
ALWAYS. Even in his arrest video in Austin, that precipitated the Turner vs Driver case that established precedent, he was totally and completely calm and respectful. That is a FEAT, in and of itself!
"so you do want to formalize the complaint"... THIS IS CRITICAL FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND, the deputy chief just tried to suggest this may be informal, meaning, they will "have a talk with the officer" but no punitive measures can now take place per the union contract because it was not a "formal complaint"... this is one of the biggest shams departments run to roadblock accountability, by treating things as informal or steering people to it, they protect the bad cops they are supposed to hold accountable...
Great follow up Phillip,,, deputy chief you're saying one thing but your offices are doing another time to review all their body cams and nip any bad behaviour in the bud

Thanx for what you do Patriot.
when cops continue to say “ok” over and over, they are either being completely dismissive or completely condescending. this jackass is trying to equate auditing, 1st Amendment rights, to misdeeds and lawbreaking by his officers. It’s absurd. Also, “we don’t care if you record, just don’t get too close” while having TV shows that glorify cops having their cameras right up in the action. Why is it any different for civilians?
it doesnt matter how minor is the issue, always file a complaint so there is record.
Exactly, the more complaints build up for these people the better
Love seeing your vids popping up in my feed again ❤
Glad to see you out there again Sir. Love your respectful auditing style.
That Captain was the best I ever witnessed Hands Down 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Ask them if they remember John and Mike Arena what they did to them.
The Sergeant and Deputy Chief are actually very polite and well spoken tbh.
Internal Affairs investigate the person complaining. I used to work in the news biz, and I can't recall one complaint, even with audio, video, witnesses... that ever resulted in more than a form letter (usually misspelled) being sent stating no policy violations were found.
Nice work glad to see you back at it. Love your work ethic & respectful way that you that work. Always a pleasure to see your videos 🙂
Is the camera necessary?
Yes. This building has cameras filming me.
That was a good interaction
Good 4 you 😊
Yes bat has a proven track record of winning lawsuits.
Notice to law enforcement in Texas. Don't violate people's rights, you never know when Mr. Turner is watching you.
When you said I’m turner reminds me of the heat of the night they call me Mr turner
Tried to defame you as an ‘auditor’
As usual, great interaction, P. Overall Belton is great. But they have had some awful encounters
POYF, Sorry but those 2 things seem contradictory. An ‘overall great’ LEO Dept should be having ZERO ‘awful encounters’.
@@charliepiland3285 “should”
I wasn't aware that you are turner. You are a legend.
Much respect. Thank you!
Glad to see you back making videos
Great follow up Phillip,,, deputy chief you're saying one thing but your offices are doing another time to review all their body cams and nip any bad behaviour in the bud
