See, I love Gorillaz I own all their CDs, some posters, some vinyl and some their DVDs. Saying that I can also safely say I do not think Goillaz when I think of this song. This is Damon Albarn, pure and simple. I think of 2D as 2D and Damon as Damon. Completely different entities and completely different music. It must get really tiring being bugged about one facet of who you are constantly.
Tbh my mind tends to seperate Damon from Gorillaz anyways. Like, he's still there, but not the focus. 2D and the characters are thr focus. So to me, 2D is a xompletely different entity than Damon, which was the intended purpose of Gorillaz anyways. I love Damonas an artist, but it kinda sucks that Gorillaz has kinda defined him when his personal stuff is more... Personal. It's more him. Gorillaz is a project that, yes he is a part of, but it isn't completely him. It's just kind of this persona im the way of these characters. So when Damon's personal music is so much different than Gorillaz, it's kind of unfair to label Damon as only "the guy from Gorillaz" when ALL of his music is brilliant, Gorillaz or otherwise.
In the recording studio, Damon sounds different compared to when he’s in a live performance. So in the context of Gorillaz, I like to think that it’s 2-D in the studio, while Damon goes out and does the live performances. It’s a fun thought to keep around

One of the things I love about Damon Albarn is that he's an outstanding lyricist. Most lyrics you hear on songs are pretty basic, and to the point, but Damon actually puts effort into his lyrics, he finds rhymes and metaphors that express the meaning of the lyric without it being so obvious, a lot of songwriters today, don't even do that. Hell, most lyrics you hear in songs today barley even rhyme or aren't grammatically correct. So, that's pretty much one out of many reasons why I love Damon Albarn and think he's a musical genius. I mean, for the love of god, why doesn't this guy have a Grammy??? OH, wait, I know why, because music with actual meaning to it isn't mainstream, it's all about "big asses, titties, doing drugs, and partying". Yeah, I forgot. That rubbish is becoming successful, while all the phenomenal artistic music is left in the crapper. The fact that remarkable artists like Damon Albarn aren't getting the popularity, and mainstream success that these disrespectful arseholes are getting seriously makes me cry. I love Damon Albarn, and all of his work, and he without a doubt needs more attention. I've never been more serious in my life.
I agree one hundred percent with you. Not only Damon but a lot of others musicians usually don't get the credit they deserve by general population. This is the way it's always been. If it helps you, I use to think that Grammys, other prizes or midia fuss over something doesn't make it necessarily good, and true critics and listeners of good material will always be aware of the good things that are out there! And every now and then we'll find each other and share our opinions ;)
While I agree with pretty much everything you guys are saying, acting as if Damon's work gets no mainstream recognition is kinda crazy. Gorillaz guys...who hasn't listened to Gorillaz. If were talking about grammy's, they have been nominated a ton of times and I think have even won once. Feel Good Inc, everyone under 30 knows that song.
I'm so happy. With 3 or 4 years I started liestening to Damon with Gorillaz. Now I'm 18 and I'm still loving his music. Damon, you are the musician who touched my heart. This is beautiful.
I listen to this song and my mind is on a natural high in a nother dimension when I just focus on the words being said and the instruments be harmony in my opinion.
No sé cuántos mexicanos haya aquí jajaja pero el sonido de fondo se asemeja a la máquina de tortillas cuando andas formado y lo único que resalta más es eso.
I don't know if this is Damon's personal channel, but I hope he sees this. You are one of my major inspirations. Your art and music is impeccable, and you mean a lot to me! Thank you for all the inspiration you have allowed myself and so many others!
Audrey, I couldn't agree more with you, Damon has been the one who led me out of my depression. So I feel I owe him a lot. So Audrey, message me or something, no one at my school appreciates blur, gorillaz, or Damon, so I don't have many people to talk to because music is a huge part of my life

I remember watching this video on V Channel everyday, on afternoon with cookies and tea. Even though there are those beep beep sounds, its surprisingly really relaxing.
Honestly for this music video I imagine a little boy walking home from school, viewing the people playing and having a nice time. he arrives at home and the camera picks up on features on everyone apart from the protagonist. Something that makes them look robotic. he sits at the dinner table and his family work like clockwork. eventually this pans to the boy growing up and wanting to break free from this causing him to be 'rebellious' this is in vain however. as it skips to a now much older version of him (Damon) walking home and seeing the same types of things he did before. The protagonist arrives home, sits at the table and sets his briefcase down. his wife kisses him on the cheek and places his food down. he then turns to look at his son, who like him, looked disinterested and started to have a rebellious streak. he smiles warmly. The video ends.
you should make a video, like an unofficial one... whats it called again....? because seriously that sounds mint and it carries the same eerie-ness to it as the music.

just discovered this song - and album (oops - LOL!). Love these songs... Thank you, Damon. This is how I"ve been feeling about society the past few years. Every time I look around any mass transit. People "seem" so disconnected... I get it - and yet - I've taken to NOT being on my phone more and more - but just watching people in the dim blue lights of their devices. Eerie and occasionally very sad. Not that I don't ever partake... but often when I'm on mine, I'm either making audio recordings ... or drum machine patterns using samples of said recordings.. Ironically...? :-P Cheers and Best from NYC... as we sink deeper into the mire of sickness.
Damon is up there in the strange and unusual artists we don't deserve in this world for they are too precious. Bjork, Thom York, Steve Roach, and many few are among them.
Why in the hell did I end up knowing this man so late? I have been missing so much in this world. I'm so ashamed of myself. I just watched Lucy and at the end of it, I heard the last song, and the man's voice made me feel alive "Sister Rust" so right after I listened to the song, I google "Lucy movie last song" and there it was, name Damon Albern. I started YouTubing him and OMG, what a treasure! What a wonderful human being! I thank the Lord for this guy. I will listen to him every day for a good and positive day, that is just the way I feel right now and will always feel that way. Love you, Damon, you have a brand new love now. #Ohio

My phone was generous enough to restore past songs I forgot about. I’m probably most thankful for this one. I really try not to compare, especially with how original this truly is in ways. But I can’t help but think of The Postal Service if they touched on a more vulnerable and dark side with this. That ongoing string sample is incredibly impactful, and kind of sad. What a song.
I was never a Blur fan, but really like Damon's solo stuff. Damon gave a really good interview on Jo Wiley radio 2 recently. He said he didn't like his voice !!! He picked a great track from Terry Jacks, Seasons in the Sun, as a favourite song.

This song, along with Tomorrow Comes Today, perfectly encapsulate how I feel about the exponential rate at which AI is currently progressing. I'm not against it, but I feel like it's moving faster than I can even know how to feel about it
It's about 6 years later and I don't think it's too soon to say that Damon Albarn's aHEAD of the curb on this one.
I can’t believe this song is real. This instrumental is amazing. Lyrics ahead of their time too
i saw that gold tooth and i knew it was damon

How he lost his teeth? And when?
@@cesar4486 He used to be a heroin addict. Heroin addicts often lose their teeth.
"Oh cool it's a head"
*UNEXPECTED DAMON*
Ai is really starting to take over now in 2023. His technology album may need a sequel
They definitely captured Damon’s constant “I can’t believe you’ve just done that” expression.
Thank you for the Ravenous sound landscape.
Amazing song, as expected from Damon (:
I find it really difficult to not think of 2D singing when I hear Damon.
Try it and start from "Parklife"
It's not difficult lmaoo
Thats because 2d and damon are one, the same, and separate entities
just discovered this song - and album (oops - LOL!).
This is his greatest song ever. It’s just amazing
I feel like I found a Hidden Gem. This is truly beautiful, so thank you Damon Albarn for creating this masterpiece.
His voice makes me happy 😖
Still banging. No veo a nadie haciendo mierda a un nivel tan alto. Gracias Damon.
_Lo nuevo de _*_Damon Albarn_*_ es el broche perfecto para acabar el día, buenas noches plusers...Alehop!_
#Ohio
"Everyday Robots"
'They didn’t know where they was going, but they knew where they was wasn’t it'
We are everyday robots on our phones
In the process of getting home
Looking like standing stones
Out there on our own
We’re everyday robots in control
Or in the process of being sold
Driving in adjacent cars
‘Til you press restart
Everyday robots just touch thumbs
Swimmin’ in lingo they become
Stricken in a status sea
One more vacancy
For everyday robots getting old
When our lips are cold
Lookin’ like standing stones
Out there on our own
Little robots in ringback tones
In the process of getting home
the video is awesome
1 minuto de silencio por esas personas que aún no han escuchado esta canción
De que sirve escucharlo sino pasa nada
How does this man consistently make amazing, insightful music while releasing new stuff like every 6 months for three or four different bands?
I Love this Song!
Ok damon we get it "phone bad book good"
Nice song
I used this to study for my anatomy test and got an A+. The teacher said it was the best test he'd ever seen and asked me to give a lecture the next day, now I have a full scholarship to UCSF
Kjersten Walton JAJAJAJA
Ing: I love this song
Esp: Amo esa canción
My phone was generous enough to restore past songs I forgot about. I’m probably most thankful for this one.
I really try not to compare, especially with how original this truly is in ways. But I can’t help but think of The Postal Service if they touched on a more vulnerable and dark side with this. That ongoing string sample is incredibly impactful, and kind of sad. What a song.
Damon has gotta have the most distinctive voice In music ever ❤
As soon as he sings it’s so obviously him ❤love that x
Colossal titan!
Quick, gather Mikasa and Armin!!!!!!!!
Diego Lecea
Nah, we should leave Armin behind :P
bumonwheelz117 Remember what happened last time?

Note to self: Don't watch this while high.
just listen to "feel good ink" to undertsand Albarn point about drugs .
👍
+Oisin T. too late.

RT. Youll be stuck in a trance trying to figure out how someone can make this lol
this song represents the sad reality of these days u__u
*these days.
Not "this days". Glad I could help.
Ian Richardson thanks
KaryBlueSpirit yaaaaaaaaaas 😎

Really true
yo thats deep
(sarcasm btw)
I dunno why but I really love this music video for some reason
True art. Damon Albarn deserves a Nobel Prize
Can people stop comparing this album/song to Gorillaz. They don't sound alike. Damon Albarn did a damn good job on differentiating the two.
You don't listen to Damon's music...
You're possessed by it...
*FANGIRLS IN JAPANESE*.
Nani?!

Make those heads sing god damn it !
I was never a Blur fan, but really like Damon's solo stuff. Damon gave a really good interview on Jo Wiley radio 2 recently. He said he didn't like his voice !!! He picked a great track from Terry Jacks, Seasons in the Sun, as a favourite song.
Aww this is beautiful HOW DID I JUST DISCOVER IT
Welcome!
