Love your content. Love that your humble and honest take on knives. Keep on keeping on. And I especially love your different videos. It’s not all the same.
I’ve got several Green Thorn made clones of Shirogorov knives with no logos. They are high quality knives and because they are sterile, nobody will mistake them for the genuine article. they will however, definitely be able to tell what model “inspired” it.
@ absolutely, I don’t have the kind of money that would allow me to spend $2000 on a knife but I can absolutely justify spending $80 for a really well made copy of a Shirogorov Custom division in titanium, carbon fiber and VG10 blade steel. It’s kind of shocking how good a sub $100 knife can actually be.
Thank you, Chris! I will add one that I see fairly frequently, the Spyderco Vallation Sub-Hilt. The fakes are easy to spot. They have a metal lanyard tube. The real one does not. It is just a hole. Usually they have no box, which is believable if it is from a collection.
That's a great add to that! I don't have one of those, but many people do. They look to buy them, and now will have that to go by as well. Awesome comment!!
Another great video! There’s a lot of copies/fakes on Amazon, and I wouldn’t say it’s “bad” to buy a fake, but- I would say, don’t leave a lame comment/review when they don’t perform like the original. That said- great new knives can be found for a rad price, buy from reputable brands, and save for a great blade.
Excellent comment!! I agree 100%! Do not knowingly buya clone and then comment and treat it like it's the real thing or on par with the real thing. If you knowingly buy a clone knife worth a fraction of the price, then knowingly expect results at a fraction of the level of the real ones.
I just received the New Asher Knives The Nomad knife with aluminum handles & S90v Blade this knife is feels amazing in the hand and the action is ultra smooth for a crossbar and its only $130.00 shipped you can’t beat that deal.
Excited for your channel to grow. You're easy to watch. And you keep your opinions as just that opinions. I've been collecting knives most of my life, and i average 1 or 2 knives per year, depending on what I spend. I have some knives that are highly collectible. And I have some knives mass-produced knives Any knife is better than no knife. Whether you are a collector or you use them as a tool.
Thank you for those very kind words!!! You do it the honest way. It's also the more affordable way! Growing your collection over time, instead of buying hauls of them at once, is by far way easier on the budget. I bet you have some nice knives, though!!!
Years back, I was buying bunches of clones from SRM, Y Start, Land, and Ganzo. They would ship free from China 6 to 8 weeks with a stop over in Azerbaijan from GearBest about $10 to $15 each. Think the Land 910 was a Sebenza clone. Good quality awesome designs for cheap. Thanks
Awesome!!! There are clines.like that for a reason. They fill a need and want, and people buy them because they want to experience the feeling of owning the expensive knives, but can't afford them.
I got my first Benchmade for Christmas. My wife got me a 560 BK-1 SUPER FREEK. I’m normally a spyderco guy, but I love this Benchmade. I tried some clones of a few premium knives and was not pleased. I’d rather not buy clones. Jerad Neeve told me I wouldn’t be happy with the clones. He was right. I get it now. I like to go to blade show Texas or House of Blades in Ft. Worth to handle something new to see if it’s gonna be for me. Plus bladehq etc. like you said watching persons like you on RUclips is soooi helpful. Thank you for the content. I enjoy your channel!
Thank you!!! I love Neeves Knives! It's such an inspiration to see others grow like he has, and MC! If they speak about a knife, then I listen. The closest "blade store" to me is SMKW, and i want to go soon. That's an awesome way to experience the different options out there. Congrats on an amazing wife and a really cool knife!! You are a lucky guy! The super freek is a sweet knife!!
Bought a clone/counterfeit ZT, a few years ago. It was obviously fake. Still yet, not a bad knife, used it as a beater and practiced sharpening on it. Gave it away, recently, with the knowledge that it was a counterfeit.
Gotta disagree with you on some points...I have purchased Benchmade, Buck and Strider from China, all the real deal, came in the OEM packaging, box, bag and with warranty/paperwork. The trick was, they were all discontinued or collectors models. China had over stock from production and continued selling them even after they were stopped in the US. These USA companies are lying...because of a little known part of US import law....if any one part of any product imported into the U.S. is made in the U.S.A., then the entire product can be legally labeled Made in USA...this includes just the packaging.
PS. Im a dad too. Daughter will be a teenager the day before your bday. DOB. 1-2-12. She’s everything to me. It’s just the 2 of us. You know how it is,sometimes you don’t buy yourself a thing you don’t really need when funds are tight. Good info on here ,for when savings are back right. I’ll get it right soon. . Thanks.
Tell her I said happy birthday, and so does an entire community of knife needs that her dad is now a part of!! I'm a father of 6, and 4 of them I raise almost completely full time. My oldest is a girl, and the others are boys. I have a big family, but my kids are the main part of my life. I focused on them this Christmas, and they had a good one. I didn't need or.get anything, and that's OK. My funds go towards them, bills, and trying to bud this channel (for them). I'm on a very strict budget as well, so I understand. Thank you for sharing that with me!! From one dad to the next, I truly hope and pray that 2025 is an amazing year for you, friend!!
Had a old trapper dad used to use when growing up wanna get one just like it with a poket clip looked just like the jack wolf in 14C28N dad used to have but gotta save up but will get it one day, anyways love n learn alot from ur videos thank you for doin them alot of hard work n time we appreciate it really do hope u had a merry Christmas
I hope you are able to get the knife that you really want. Knives that have sentimental stories attached to them, like our fathers, are the best! Thank you for.the.kind words.about..e and my videos!!
Merry Christmas to you, and happy new year! Hope you had a great time with your family, that's the best gift. I really appreciate the knowledge you share in these posts.
And yes, another great point. Correct spelling in your language is a definite giveaway, but also, misunderstanding by the foreign copiers of our use of punctuation, correct use of past, and present tense, and plural or singular. Cheap packing materials are also indicative of a clone too! The devil is in the details!!! Great video Chris! Lets get you to 1000 subs! 😊🎉 These are a few things i DIDNT know about Spideys! Like the centering of the soider in reference to the hole and the triangle. God willin' when i can afford to, spyderco is a knife i want to buy next before anything else. So good info and thanks from me, and the community
Thank you so much for that and the other comment! You are right on with all that you said! Research and know your stuff. Or just stick with reputable dealers and stores. No question! Oh, and thanks for helping me get to 1k subs!! It's more you all than anything. I'm very grateful!!
The easiest way to tell a counterfeit Spyderco is by looking at the finger toil and plunge area if it's rounded and not crisp 90° laser cut corners it's a counterfeit. With all counterfeits they won't have that super crisp Sharp laser cut or water jet cut plunge and finger choil area it will be rounded over and not crisp that's a dead giveaway that you can literally look at the knife and tell instantly that it's a counterfeit and it's blatantly obvious when you touch it it's blatantly obvious when you look at it when you know what you're looking for it but it's double blatantly obvious when you touch it.
I would have to agree with you Chris. I've got budget knives and clones. And I personally don't agree with stealing the name. They should do what ganzo or ok knives is doing and put a different name on it. But the clones that I have are actually good knives. There's no way I could afford the real ones being on a disability income. I have a $30 rule that I rarely get to exceed now days.
I started collecting buck knives a few years ago . Although I like a few other brands I stick with my bucks . It's to hard to buy new knives these days ,between scammers and clones/copy's I just stick with what I know . For Christmas I got myself a pre 1986 buck 317 serrated. Made in America is the way to go
Hahaha, nope, that's a hillbilly term, I think. We say it here in Ky, too. I lived in Columbia for a while, many years ago. Beautiful state!! Lexington, not Lex Ky, was a place where I had the worst night ever. That was when my SC experience ended. Lol.
A lot of times Clones have a way smaller or larger or bolder branding than the original they never get that correct but I have noticed that the Benchmade Clones are Damn Near Spot On with everything I have a real Claymore and recently got a Clone for $18.00 and the knife guys at Scheels had no idea it was a clone
The clones are getting better and better. Sometimes, it comes down to if it's exact measurements. Or I've seen them have bearings when they should have washers, or vice versa.
Great topic. So far i have done it the "honest " way. Building and learning and building up. Thats why i have like 8 kershaw knives and they still hold a good place in my heart. I wont say i have not been tempted to buy a clone. When i see something that looks just like a Demko 20.5 for 30 dollars, im like well dang. It would take some real saving for me tobuy a real Demko. I could get this one now. What keeps me from it is I would know. Even tho the one im talking about does not say Demko on it at all, he still invented the sharklock. He should get his for his invention. Counterfeit ones mak me mad. If i paid for a Spyderco it had better be from Golden Colorado USA! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas man! Im headed to my parents house this weekend. Christmas 2.0 😅 have a great day.
You said something right there that I loved!! You would know it isn't the real thing, and that would eat at me too. You could never look at it the way you hoped. Never appreciate it the way you would want to. Thanks for the kind words friend!!
As long as you stick with reputable dealers, like Blade HQ or Knifecenter then you are good. Look at their customer reviews and you will see if they have a history of clones or forgeries.
One REALLY easy dead give away for a Spyderco is the paper work ALL Spyderco's come with MODEL SPECIFIC paperwork. Another REALLY easy tell is the pocket clip if the Spyderco Logo is INDENTED it's fake, Spyderco Etches their pocket clips logo, it is also required to be PERFECTLY aligned and centered, if it's not, don't buy it. Clips number 2. All Spyderco clips have INCREDILBLE retention and a very specific HARD ting. If it feels soft or easy to manipulate, it's a fake. Blades are EASY and HARD but more easy if you just look at the right areas. The Spyderco text is a specific type and will have almost perfect spacing and coloring, it's laser etched not painted. SAME with the logo it will be dang near perfect, fakes are almost never centered/placed properly. AGAIN if it isn't a BEAUTIFUL CLEAN laser etch, fake. The coating on the blade, if it has one will be a clean sheen with a light matte, if it looks like paint or feels tacky, probably fake. If it doesn't have a coating look at the grind, Spyderco takes PRIDE in their grinds and edges. They will be BEAUTIFUL straight and clean, it will look like it was done by a high end machine. It's more apparent as the light travels across the grind area while you move the night in a rocking motion. I SUGGEST YOU SIMPLY GO TO A LOCAL KNIFE / GUN / OUTDOOR STORE AND ASK TO HANDLE A COUPLE. Once you take a look at a couple and handle them, you can literally FEEL a fake Spyderco in hand and spot them once you take a closer look. Most of all, learn the knife you want and ASK THE COMMUNITY, we will be honest. If you want a clone, we can get you a decent one, if you want a hell of a deal maybe we can find you a Factory Second or a LNIB from a TRUSTED source. If you aren't 100% sure just walk away.
Years ago I bought a fake para 2 on dhgate. I was curious about the design and mainly wanted to see if I liked it. Guess what probably a month later I purchased the real thing. In my case it worked out and it had its place for me.
I know that some people don't like my stance on clone knives, b7t I try to see it from other people's perspectives. I don't blame the person who really wants one but just can't afford it. To the people in the world who don't collect or use knives, there's no difference. They look the same and both cut. They don't know.blade steels or action. To them, it's just a knife. I try to remember that and not judge others too harshly for things like that. I want a Ferrari, but I can only afford a Miata. Lol.
I was bit by a fake Spyderco PM2. I bought two Spyderco pm2 together from the same seller on eBay. One was legit, the other wasn't. I don't think the seller did that maliciously. The fake works good and strikes a ferro rod well. I also bought a Shirogorov Quantum gen 2 where the seller knew exactly what they were selling. Bladebinge refunded my money and notified the seller's local police. Watch out, out there!!!
It's honestly crazy how many fakes are out there! I can't believe how many people have been burned by clone knives and shady dealers. It sucks really bad!
Very informative. There were a few things that I never heard before, and some I would have never thought to look for. I would like to know what exactly Benchmade’s or Spyderco’s process is to tell if they are legit if you send them one you’re unsure of. Other than the specs and the obvious stuff. By the way… I would love to win a knife.
Welcome!!! Thank you for joining! Honestly, all they have to do is look at the blade steel under a microscope. All steels have different grain structures, and all clones use cheaper steal. Not to mention, the Brands are very capable of spotting the fakes from their real deal knives. Actually, most knife enthusiasts can spot a fake easily. Its really not hard once you have experience with the real ones.
I am looking for a good American made folder that has good steel. Case Sharade prominent American names are now made in China. I have 50 year old case knives that hold razor edge.
I hate that people get burned by them!! It really sucks. You have an awesome perspective, regardless of the deception. I don't know if I could handle it as well.
Yes there's a difference between a clone and and a fake,I do buy clones but I knew ahead of time it was a clone and I can't believe people can't actually tell the difference between the two,it's really simple,if you been in this game as long as I have I can determine low quality steel and good steel just by holding a knife.
Most experienced knife owners can. It becomes pretty easy to spot them. There are many knife owners who are either inexperienced or they lack knowledge about knives and brands. These knife people can quickly find themselves in a situation where they were taken advantage of. Hopefully, with a little time, we can talk get to a place where that's not possible.
@TheUnprofessionalDad I show my friends and fellow knife people the difference between the two,I teach them how to spot them and the quality of a good clone vs a trash fake.I show them the quality of the new clones out nowadays and why you should have them and how to buy them from reputable people who explain why they make clones and not trying to sale them as the real thing.I also explain to them the good and bad of both and hopefully they never get taken. There arE some amazing clones out there from small knife makers that make quality, but all that being said be careful.
i actually really like clones. i like cheap knives where i dont have to worry about breaking them and whats a better beater than a clone right?? i bought a espada xl clone because im never going to afford the real one lol i love it.
I think there is.a.place.for.clones, because of what you just said. Some people can't and won't pay the higher prices of the real ones. They deserve to enjoy knife collecting too. One day, hopefully, the cost of knives will come down, and more people can experience the real thing. Until then, clones are the only option they really have.
I agree with you, when it comes down to "Clones" and "Counterfeit" As you may or may not know about me, i also am into Horology (The interest, study, and practice of understanding how primarily mechanical or automatic watches and watch movements, as well as escapements function, how to inspect pivot jewels, and work with things smaller than a hair at some times. I love old pocketwatches, Ball, Elgin, etc ... Ball set the bar in the 1800s... Anyway, I'm getting off topic, in the watch world, whether you're looking at Ball railroad grade pocket watches, New or vintage Rolex, Omega, etc there are TONS of clones and super clones! I believe that the difference between a clone and a counterfeit like you said is 100% about the intent behind the sale, and the integrity of the salesman. Does he tell you yes, this is a Japanese Rolex clone, then dig in and show you the differences between the real and the clone, and the type of quality you're getting for the money, which is significantly less generally than the real thing. But I've seen super clones as high as $800 and $1, 000... But you did offer really good advice in the other video about pawn shops, and resale or consignment type arrangements in stores. To be Frank, when you get into buying, sewing and trading high-end things you'd had best be balls deep in whatever that hobby is whether it's horology, edged weapons, pew-pews, etc. and know what to look for and be well educated on what youre looking at. I bought a seiko that the pawn broker thought was a knockoff, I asked him if he was firm on the price and he said yeah, I told him I'll be back tomorrow. Hold it for me at that price? He said for sure. So I brought my eye loupe with me, a. Wrench specifically for opening high-end watchbacks that are threaded on with o-rings, tweezers rubber gloves and a movement holder, went back in there the next day ask for permission to remove the back, he said okay, so I opened it up and it was a legit Seiko movement that belongs in an $875 watch, however, the original case and bracelet had apparently been damaged in some way and replaced with a bootleg assed case from online. So i paid him his 75.00, dropped 120.00 on a legit case and bracelet online used on ebay, and thats how i paid 195 total, for an 800.00 seiko! Pawnshops can be killer deals if you know what you're doing, or deals that kill financially if you don't! So I agree if you aren't well. Versed and know the tricks of the trade and whatever it is. You're looking at buying. Take a friend or someone that's an expert if you aren't confident in your own abilities yet to know what to look for because nothing hurts more than to see someone go somewhere like a pawn shop, needing money for a bill or something else and finding out what they've owned for 7 or 8 years thinking they had some level of equity in it should they need the cash for a while only to find out that for 7 or 8 years whoever sold it has fraudulently gotten over on said person. It's a damn shame but I can't tell you how many times I've seen people in pawn brokers go. What do you mean? It's not real gold? It stamped real gold, got the right Hallmark, so and so gave it to me and I trust them. Them so you mean to tell me this is fake? The acid test will tell you every time
That is the coolest thing I have heard in a while!! I am a watch lover, too!!! Not like you, though. If you ever notice, I'm always wearing different watches in my videos, and I even tried to buy a watch today. Back when I was into sales and had a far different lifestyle, i owned a couple of Rolex watches and loved them!!! I wish i still had them, but that was years ago. I also came across this wooden box, and when you opened it, there were these rows of strange tools, and it was a stairs top like shelf system. Every shelf had a row of tools. I wondered for years what it was. This was back before the internet was big, and come to find out, it was a set of watch repairman tools. It was so cool. I thought I had this expensive piece of whatever, and I ended up giving it to an old man in a Peddlars mall because he knew exactly what it was. I swear, every time you comment, I learn more about you, and you're a pretty cool cat!!
@@TheUnprofessionalDad Hey thanks a lot Chris! I kind of feel like if we lived closer to each other we would probably be like Tim and Wilson on home improvement. Talking over the fence everyday, only neither one of us would be the one whos a putz. Hahahaha
I’ve got some Chinese clone OTF’s that work awesome never fails but I work them over completely take apart and Polish up all the internals and they run all day every day no problem and I tell anyone that asks that it’s a Clone and they are surprised that I only paid $20.00 for a $400.00 knife of course the steel is not as good and far harder to get and keep a good edge on them
I love that you enjoyed them! I have a Chinese otf and the same thing, it's never failed once. It's not a clone, though. It's just a $40 OTF. As long as you know ow what you have and pass them off for what they are, it's all ok and honorable. It's only shady when they are passed if for something they are not.
@ SHEIN is really bad at saying or portraying its the real thing by showing boxes in the background or just saying it in the description it’s Amazing they are getting away with this
Asian budget replica knives, have helped me fulfill, my fantasy knife desires, unfortunately I do not have the kind of money to buy $500 pocketknife's and so far have had no luck winning the Lotto, yes there are a lot of clones out there on the net now days so do your research before you buy...
That is why I don't hate on clones. I think that when they are pitched the right way that they fill a need and a hole in the knife collecting community. I don't want to see people get scammed, but knowledgeable clone purchases are fine by me! Everyone deserves to know that amazing feeling of owning an awesome knife.
1st time your channel has popped up. I don’t collect but have some nice ones. Want a bar lock. BM 940 or a nicer nightshade or maybe a Spiderco if I win. Or one of your knives that will work & let someone else have a new one. Either way would be great. New subscriber & a like. Didn’t cost anything & they add up. . Typing & listening about worrying about things you can’t control/a the small things.that’s correct and I am off track. Needed to hear it. Thank you for that 1st & foremost. Take care& have fun.
Thank you so much for that!! Talk about kind words!!! I'm glad that you liked the content and got something from it. It's easier said than done, but its the daily striving to put it to practice that matters. Welcome to my channel, I'm glad to have you as a viewer!!
Here's a dead giveaway that a Spyderco PM2 is fake. It costs $11. I don't buy fakes anymore, but yes, I did buy two for $11 each. And I knew they were fake.
That's how people help make a decision on if they wanna spend that kind of money for a knife or not also people can have an own that knife in a lesser but same way, bec it won't be in the same knife it's not bec it's different steel different finishes handle materials ex so not hurting that company that that knifes supposed to of been in the first place if it's not made buy that company in the same materials n steels period, it's just that u don't like others making money off someone else's real hard work instead if ripping them off buy saying it's a spyderco and isn't a spyderco
I don't have a lot of experience with them, myself. I have heard that some are built pretty well, but nothing like the real things. I've also heard what you just said, and that most are really bad and not worth having.
@TheUnprofessionalDad Yes I only know of 3 reputable makeRs that make quality clones,I own about 10 or so and I have to say they are very well made and literally the only difference is the knife steel, but most are just fidgets I carry and are very sharp and work very well considering I really don't heavy use them and only cut cardboard and such. But you can't beat buying a quality clone that 500,700 or even 1000 plus for around 50 to 100 bucks.I wouldn't personally be using a knife I'm spending 1000 bucks for anyways.TherE fun and a way to experience a certain knife without paying that ridiculous price.Dont know why anyone would be buying a clone of say a bugout or any other knife that is affordable and yeah unfortunately there are also a lot of poor quality ones out there as well so yeah,it's a game we play.
Thank you, friend! Seriously, thank you for having my back on that issue, as well. I saw your comment, and i felt bad for blasting them like that, and good that you and others trusted me like that. Thank you!!
Hello, just came across your video which I found funny, i love knives. I recently bought a cold steel master hunter in cpm3, on ebay for cheap. After receiving it im not sure whether it is legit or not, it appears to be but who knows.
I will find out a few key things to look for so you have a better idea. Cold steel is a highly cloned brand, unfortunately. I'm sure that yours is real, though. Dont stress about it much.
There are common places like TEMU and DHgate. There are also many others as well. Always research these places for customer feedback. Here's a list of some, but there are many others out there: Jufule Infinite.knives Vespa Green Thorn
I dont understand all the drop bear hype... they are bringing nearly the same money as the bugouts they are trying to copy... why in the heck would anyone spend that on a Chinese copy?
Drop bears are good knives. Not one of my favorites, but many people love them. As for the clones, that's a whole other issue. Clones will always be around, so I accept it and then try to put a positive spin on it. In a perfect world, though, we would all be able to afford and own the real deal knives that we desire.
Honestly, this is how: they set up shop and post their items all over every site they can. They make in the sales and take in the orders. Then, as soon as the real brands fund out, or they are reported by enough consumers, they are forced to close up shop. In that business name!!! The next day, they open a new LLC and do the same thing again. Until they have to shut down. The next day, yep. A new LLC! By the time they are caught, they have sold hundreds of thousands worldwide. That's only the first go round. Every time they open in a new name with the same products they sell even more. It's literally a cat and mouse game of catch us, and then we start over. The owners are all overseas, and we can't prosecute them. The companies that harbor them, like TEMU or DHgate, make so much money that they don't care, but pretend they do and only allow it because of the laws and regulations. That's exactly how they do it.
They deserve to be faked because are overpriced, they should not be $100-200!? The Chinese can make them same quality if not better for $30 AKA Ganzo . So if some body wants to pay $100-200 for a picture of a spider , the Chinese will sell them a picture of a spider 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love your content. Love that your humble and honest take on knives. Keep on keeping on. And I especially love your different videos. It’s not all the same.
Thank you!!! I'm really glad that you liked the content.
Stumbled across your channel and glad I did, just starting out and learning!
Welcome to an amazing hobby and also to my channel! I hope you enjoy the content. Say goodbye to your disposable income!!!
Wow! Thank you for sharing that information about Spyderco's!
I never knew about the Spyder's mouth and the triangle
You're welcome!!! It's always the little thing that the clines get wrong.
I’ve got several Green Thorn made clones of Shirogorov knives with no logos. They are high quality knives and because they are sterile, nobody will mistake them for the genuine article. they will however, definitely be able to tell what model “inspired” it.
That is really cool. They say imitation is the best sort of flattery, and the real knives definitely have reason to be imitated.
Im gonna look it up and check it out. Congrats!!! It sounds like you love it, and that's all that matters!
Excited for your channel to grow. You're easy to watch.
And you keep your opinions as just that opinions. I've been collecting knives most of my life, and i average 1 or 2 knives per year, depending on what I spend.
I have some knives that are highly collectible. And I have some knives mass-produced knives
Any knife is better than no knife.
@ yes smkw is in my to do list as well. I’d like to make it a weekend trip sometime.
Thank you for your input😊😊😊😊
Thank you for watching and commenting!!
Bought a clone/counterfeit ZT, a few years ago. It was obviously fake. Still yet, not a bad knife, used it as a beater and practiced sharpening on it. Gave it away, recently, with the knowledge that it was a counterfeit.
As long as we know what we are getting then it's fine, imo, to have a clone, then so be.it. the deception is when it becomes a shady dirty thing.
I did have a good Christmas. My wife bought me a Condor Warlock machete for Christmas. The thing is wicked!
That's awesome!!! I love Condor knives! Great at outdoor and bushcrafting.
Having a wife who is willing to drop that kind of money on a knife is the real present there!
Love the videos... My favorite knives lately have been Sheffield England cutlery.. A. WRIGHT & SONS are awesome
Just an FYI, my last name is.Wright. anything with that name is excellent!! Lol. Just kidding, I'm not that arrogant.
Thank you for the kind words about my videos!!
Thank you! Same to you and your loved ones!!! I hope you had an amazing Christmas!
These are a few things i DIDNT know about Spideys!
I'm very grateful!!
love seeing all the great knives that everyone owns
It's been a journey ro get here with these knives. I've loved every minute of it.
True! I forgot to mention that spyderco knives never ever have sharpening choils, and you're 100% correct! Thanks for adding that.
Thanks for all this awesome information. That Benchmade 940 looks awesome. I just like a green knife. Keep up the awesome work. 👽
Thank you so much!!! I appreciate that more than you know!
That's an awesome perspective! As long as we know what we are getting then i don't see an issue with them.
Marry Christmas just started collecting knives and got my first middle high end knife from my father best present ever!
Welcome to the hobby!!! Say goodbye to your spendable cash!! Lol. Congrats on an awesome dad and a great knife!!
I would like a new knife! Love your channel buddy!
Thank you!!! Welcome!!!
I started collecting buck knives a few years ago . Although I like a few other brands I stick with my bucks . It's to hard to buy new knives these days ,between scammers and clones/copy's I just stick with what I know . For Christmas I got myself a pre 1986 buck 317 serrated. Made in America is the way to go
I love the Buck loyalty!! That's a great brand to stick with. Congrats on the 317!!! Made in America is always a great way to go.
Lol you said cockeyed 😂. I thought we only said that down here in S.C. Good video as usual buddy!
Hahaha, nope, that's a hillbilly term, I think. We say it here in Ky, too. I lived in Columbia for a while, many years ago. Beautiful state!! Lexington, not Lex Ky, was a place where I had the worst night ever. That was when my SC experience ended. Lol.
Love my knives especially traditional style knives
I have a video coming up soon with a bunch of Case knives. My brother is heavy into traditional knives and collecting.
Nothing like a free knife. I would love to win one.
I truly can't wait to go live with everyone and give that budget away!!! Good luck, friend!!
I love a “fake knife” to practice sharpening on I still don’t fully trust myself with my good knives
That's a great way to take advantage of clones!!! I love that!
Awesome stuff. Thank you
Thank you!!! I'm glad that you liked it.
I appreciate your opinion on this. Great video! You have a new subscriber!
Thank you so much!! Welcome to my channel!!
Just discovered your channel. Great perspective and info in this video.
Welcome to my channel!! I'm glad that you enjoyed the content!
Good job!!!
Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
Knives have become my new hobby. 😊
That's awesome!!! Welcome to the hobby! Oh, and say goodbye to disposable income. Lol.
I'm all about getting a knife!!🎉🎉
Welcome!!! I'm all about giving someone a budget to buy a knife!! I can't wait! Welcome to my channel.
Great knife related topics.
Thank you!!! I'm really glad that you liked the content!
I could use a new Esee knife. It would be nice to know where these fakes were purchased
As long as you stick with reputable dealers, like Blade HQ or Knifecenter then you are good. Look at their customer reviews and you will see if they have a history of clones or forgeries.
I actually just picked up a manix 2 clone because im always afraid ill ruin my real one. Ive been eyeing a benchmade anonimus clone also.
Awesome!!! See, you went into it knowingly and with the right expectations. That's all that it takes to keep from being a shady process.
Just buy direct from manufacturer or authorized dealers and you're good! Blade HQ is certainty good to go!
Yes!!! Stick with people and places you can trust and you will never get taken.
Many manufacturers and authorized dealers sell knives on Amazon.
Excellent add!!! Thank you for adding this! People need every bit of info they can get.
Lol.
Already entered.That is a huge $ knife giveaway.Hope you reach 1000
Thank you!!! Im really glad that people like it!
I'm looking to get a case russ lock. I think they look cool
I was just talking to my brother yesterday about those! He has an awesome Case collection!! Great choice!
Case makes really great knives. They have a reputation for a reason! You can not go wrong with Case
I don’t have a problem with clones but whenever ppl try to pass them off as real… terrible I’ve been hit before live and learn
I hate that people get burned by them!! It really sucks. You have an awesome perspective, regardless of the deception. I don't know if I could handle it as well.
Got smacked by a benchmade osborne off eBay stock photos only..
@TheUnprofessionalDad Every good collector should own a few to show I guess.
Hey brother, Merry Christmas. I got one knife for Christmas, a Case Canoe. It's going to be a carry knife. Peace.
That's awesome! Congrats on a great knife. Happy New Year!!
i actually really like clones. i like cheap knives where i dont have to worry about breaking them and whats a better beater than a clone right?? i bought a espada xl clone because im never going to afford the real one lol i love it.
I agree with you, when it comes down to "Clones" and "Counterfeit"
As you may or may not know about me, i also am into Horology (The interest, study, and practice of understanding how primarily mechanical or automatic watches and watch movements, as well as escapements function, how to inspect pivot jewels, and work with things smaller than a hair at some times.
@@TheUnprofessionalDad
Hey thanks a lot Chris! I kind of feel like if we lived closer to each other we would probably be like Tim and Wilson on home improvement. Talking over the fence everyday, only neither one of us would be the one whos a putz. Hahahaha
Man I know 💯% , zero hesitation, what I'd get if I win this giveaway! How did you get my hoodie lol..
Lol. Go Big blue!!!!
Everyone deserves to know that amazing feeling of owning an awesome knife.
i want a new knife lol
It's that simple, lol. You're in!
I would sure like a new knife.
I would love to give you one!! The 3rd isn't far away, and i honestly can't wait to find out who wins.
Welcome to my channel, I'm glad to have you as a viewer!!
fact is, most of those high end knives just arent worth the money at all, just buy american made and call it a day
I like that perspective! There are many American made options
As long as you realize you are buying not real and you don't try to misrepresent to another go on
I agree completely!
Indeed
Agree 100%
Outstanding
Here's a dead giveaway that a Spyderco PM2 is fake. It costs $11. I don't buy fakes anymore, but yes, I did buy two for $11 each. And I knew they were fake.
Yep!! Lol. I would guess that is a giveaway.
Great comment! People want the most information possible before making decisions or spending money.
Some clones are very, very knice but most are garbage
Great content. Buyer beware. I say hooah
Thank you, friend! Seriously, thank you for having my back on that issue, as well. I saw your comment, and i felt bad for blasting them like that, and good that you and others trusted me like that. Thank you!!
It’s better to buy from
Atlanta Knife
Blade HQ
Knife Center
SMOKY MOUNTAIN KNIFE WORKS SMKW
They are definitely awesome places to buy from. Zero risk with them.
I got a new mini praxis.
Awesome!!! That's a sweet knife!
Just got a Kershaw Iridium from Santa.
Awesome!!!! You are gonna love that knife!!!
Greeting from Ukraine 🤝🇺🇦
Hello Ukraine!!! Happy Holidays! I can't believe someone in Ukraine has watched my videos!!
How is jumping into the hobby and buying a sebenza not honest?
Well, it's definitely earning your stripes the right way. We all pay our dues, and a sebenza pays them a little faster. Lol.
Where's a good place to get legit clones that's good made, want a Chaves and another para 3 for my brother he likes clones
There are common places like TEMU and DHgate. There are also many others as well. Always research these places for customer feedback. Here's a list of some, but there are many others out there:
Jufule
Infinite.knives
Vespa
Green Thorn
I dont understand all the drop bear hype... they are bringing nearly the same money as the bugouts they are trying to copy... why in the heck would anyone spend that on a Chinese copy?
Drop bears are good knives. Not one of my favorites, but many people love them. As for the clones, that's a whole other issue. Clones will always be around, so I accept it and then try to put a positive spin on it. In a perfect world, though, we would all be able to afford and own the real deal knives that we desire.
just subscribed nice to meet you i enjoyed my visit to your channel thank you
Thank you so much!!! Welcome to my channel!!
Clones r ok i guess but i absolutely hate the Chinese counterfeits..it was against the laws of usa at one time.not sure how they r doing this..
I definitely understand your point. Thanks for sharing that. Ganzo does make quality clones.
Go Cats.
Yes, sir!!!!! Go Big blue!!! Love us some Mark Pope!!!
