Traxxas Maxx Color Changing Paint Job With "Spaz Stix"Paint

- I tear apart the clip-less body structure on the maxx and chip & sand away the old paint and apply the 2 part spaz-stix color changing paint and show you the outcome of it all.
So.. I was trying to figure out how much backing paint I'd need for my X-MAXX aaaaand misread that you are in fact painting a MAXX.. Needless to say, can confirm that ONE can of black backer will be enough to do an X-MAXX XD

I usually paint the inside only
It gives it more of a professional outcome if you paint the inside. If you paint it on the outside it never looks as good.

No I haven't flown the plane yet I'm still trying to get someone to buddy box with me. I listened to the video from 3:40 all the way to 4:50 and never heard anything for a "that's what she said" joke.

Do you do a clear coat to protect it ?
No .....the paint goes on the inside of the body and it has a black backer that kind of acts like a protector for the color change aspect of it. Plus this stuff is especially made for lexan rc car bodies so it's designed to be used on rc cars and won't chip and stuff. If you paint with regular paint....it will chip and fall off quicker than sh**.

Man I did the same thing you did lol... at first I hydro dipped a limitless body and put 2x clear on it and every time I hit something it would crack. So I just ordered the candy apple 🍎 red spaz and backing it with sliver candy. Is that the right backer?
The spaz stix COLOR CHANGE paint is a 2 part paint. The other types of paint are just single coat types. Let's say you paint a rc car & the first coat is red and after that dried you added a coat of white, it would brighten up the red a bit but it's not required that you do 2 parts. The spaz stix COLOR CHANGE paint is the only paint that is a mandatory 2 part paint. If you look on their web site you can see all the kinds of paint and when you select the "color change" paints you will see all the different types and there will be one can that is called "black backer" and it's the special 2nd coat of the color changing paints. All other paints require only 1 type.
Don't need to rough it up if you use the right paint..
