They are so, so tight. The combination of a solid drummer and bassist with the sick leads on keys, sax, trumpet, and trombone is really a joy to listen to.
If you don't move and groove to this, you are dead. And seeing them live!!!! Nothing like Pres Hall live!!! The best live act ever

Them opening for My Morning Jacket then sitting in during several of their songs is the best live act!
@@benjaminapeter I totally agree and have seen them many times at the historic hall. The only issue is that if you absolutely want to see the configuration of the band in this video, with Ben, Ronell, and Charlie (my favorites) you have to see the traveling band. Although you can see them in this configuration with some luck and planning at the actual hall, the in house talent is a revolving door so its hard to plan who you will actually see if you are just there for a litt bit for vacation. Also, the traveling Pres Hall Band is a completely different set and vibe. It is super high energy.
I’m going to New Orleans at the end of this month. The Preservation Hall is going to be my first stop. Thanks for the info.

I know it was old Bill who played the Sax, but damn if that doesn’t look like 75 year old Obama up there 🤣 In all seriousness, it was none other than Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters who named dropped this amazing group during an episode of Hot One’s that brought me here. I grew up as a Disneyland kid and I always always loved the live jazz bands and looped music in New Orleans Square.
