    Great video Lynne! Beautiful seaside location, loved all the rocks on the beach. Cracking images. Especially the one of the little lighthouse and the sea defences. And a beauty of the windmill at the end. Really enjoyed this one! Keep well and stay safe.

    I love your work and I agree - it is great to see a woman doing a video on this topic! Less emphasis on gear and more on aesthetic. Just starting to dip my toes into the long exposure waters and this was a great help. I live by the beach in Florida but there is nothing like these beaches! I just loved the old wood and markers. They certainly made for beautiful photos. Thank you for a wonderful video and also for reminding us Americans to take time out for afternoon tea! BTW...the scarf and sunglasses you had on at the end reminded me of Patsy on AbFab! :)

      Hi Flo , just had a nosey round your website , beautiful water color images & I love the Old style american car ones 👍👍How wonderful, living by the beach in Florida , visited many years ago with my folks, vividly recall my 1st taste of Grits at a diner which were yummy & Palmetto bugs which were scary 😲Thanks so much for watching & for your very kind comments , afternoon tea is essential 😊 Abfab...what a series 👍

      Shrimp and grits is my favorite Southern meal. LOL. I have subscribed and will keep in touch! You have pointed me in a wonderful new direction. Saving my pennies to get my hands on those wonderful (and very expensive) LEE filters. Thanks for the inspiration!

      I wish we could get proper Grits over here , the english versions are just not the same ! Glad I've been of use , LEE are expensive but very very good. I'll keep an eye on your website & look forward to seeing some lovely long exposures :-)

      Hi Murat , it is a lovely location, need to get back there at some point 👍 I bought the Snow Shoes from a UK company ( not sure where you're based ? ) called WEX Photographic but they are available on Amazon , Just search for Manfrotto or Gitzo Tripod Snow shoes 👍 The way they secure on to the tripod leg I would expect them to be fine with most tripods but obviously I've only used them on mine ( Vanguard VEO & Giottos) .Hope this helps 😊

    Concerning your white balance setting, you left me wondering why 10k? Why not Auto or 5k for that matter? I'm still wondering. Loved the windmill and that color beach image.

    • @LynneLuxonJonesphotography
      @LynneLuxonJonesphotography  4 года назад

      Hi Steve, I always use 10thou WB when using the 10 stop filter as that equates to daylight WB,so if I want to leave the image color there's no faffing in post processing. 5k wb would be way to cold with the 10stop on . I got into the habit of setting the wb manually rather than relying on Auto WB & the habit has stuck . The less I have to do in post the happier I am 😁
      Hope that helps 👍

    That first image with the beach curving to the right really entices the eye to "go for a wander". Forget about leading lines pointing into the picture, it is just as great to follow a line to the edge and to imagine what lies beyond. Granted, leading lines into the picture are a way to combat short attention spans and keep the eye lingering a little longer before we scroll on. Besides, your framing was pretty much the only way to capture the restfulness of the scene.
    I would have maybe brightened up the roofs a little bit, but that is just personal preference.

    • @LynneLuxonJonesphotography
      @LynneLuxonJonesphotography  3 года назад

      Hi Nigel ...I use a sunwayfoto L bracket ( universal fit for nikon ) & found by jiggling the position I can get it to fit. Is a lot easier now I have a Benro geared head as that comes with an arca Swiss plate which is attached to the L bracket & that gives a bit of extra clearance .
      Hope that makes sense 👍
