Great first video, and awesome looking terrain! Nice to see more super-skilled people making tutorials :)
That's a lovely comment. Thank you so much :)
Great video, will definitely be trying this. I might try designing and printing my own corrugating machine though, for larger pieces.
That is great to hear, Martin. Thank you very much. No doubt there probably already are some designed already over on the Thingiverse. Worth a check before you go to the efforts. Be sure to join The Immersive World Crafter’s group over on Facebook and post your results :D - facebook.com/groups/The.Immersive.World.Crafters/
Great technique, definitely one to try 😃👍🏼
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice tutorial!
Really strong video Kev, can't wait to see more!
They look awesome
Thanks for the video.
Thanks Spud, really appreciate that mate
Great video, man. Incredible storefront too. Really impressive. I just started the youtube crafting myself (rough & ready simple stuff) for cheap & easy solutions that can be done in 5-10 minutes.
Your videos are like the professional high-teir stuff for real enthusiasts. Really glad there's so much choice in content on youtube in terms of crafters & hobby goodness.
Wish you every success, you're certainly taking things to a whole new level. Happy crafting my dude
The bubbling from the heat gun actually looks like the rust blisters that will develop on some steel after extensive weathering.
awesome!
Great video and you can see by the effort put in the finished product is well worth the price. Great stuff. Good on you as well for making vids, I have thought about it repeatedly, but would end up loosing time to make stuff, so have never got round to it. Thank you for sharing sir.
Oh any chance you could let us know where you get the aluminium you use?
I have been thinking about it for a long time too. It is nice to finally be at a point where I want to create a channel and share some processes. It’s a pleasure, thank you for your support.
Keep that content coming and don"t forget to post links in The Inquisitorium! :D
You got it! Thanks for the sub :)
I’ve made it big. I got my first dislike on a video already! Awesome x
Hater's gonna hate! Lol! Nice format out the gate! I'm digging it! :)
@@neilbrabham8556 Thanks mate. I am happy with the quality straight out the gate. I have some improvements to make as I go to up the quality. Keep watching this space x
From where we can get that corrugating machine
Very cool video! Do you think the little tool would work on 0.25mm styrene sheet (plasticard)?
Just tried it out for you. It does work, but you get a very low profile corrugation. My next step up that I have on me is a bit of a jump and will probably snap the styrene. Perhaps a 0.5 or 0.75mm could get a tighter corrugation? imgur.com/a/HJX2PFk
It snaps styrene, Works great on card, tin and as here, aluminium. But every attempt I have made with styrene it creases too much and each crinkle forms cracks and snaps, great at making lots of tiny strips!!!
@@jefferytapp1612 That was what I was expecting, but the 0.25mm held up, just with a low profile corrugation. See the imgur above. I am wondering if at 0.5 or 0.75mm it will still corrugate as the 0.25mm but hold a shape better. It could work?
@@TheImmersiveWorldCrafter That is not bad, when I tried I got hardly any then with extra pressure it just cracked, maybe dependant on your styrene! Maybe mine was more brittle, wonder if you could warm the sheet up a little and it would be more pliable, damn the pair of you now you have me thinking. Up to now been happy enough cutting up coke cans!!!
@@jefferytapp1612 TBH, the coke can is still the most versatile. Like I say in the vid, it behaves like the real thing because it’s metal. You can scratch it, tear it, bend it and it has realism because it is the correct base material to be using.
what mfg makes that roller?
If you have a 3d printer you could also use this simple corrugator:
