- Today my daughters are helping to haul some WET NASTY BALES. Abby is driving today with the Percheron team, Ken and Buck, and hauling round bales from the lower field up to the barnyard. Then, the three of us push the heavy bales into the barnyard to feed the cows! Plus, watch Abby fail at attempting to back up a team of horses.

Great to see the girls helping JIm out with a hard task. Yes he could have done it all with the skid steer, but this way Buck and Ken got some exercise, and the girls got some more tme behind the reins. and Abby did pretty gud job backing up. but jim shows where doing it day in and day our gives you the experience to go it the first time. I"m sure with few more practice runs the Girls will do it also on the first shot! thanks again for some good family time. And let us not forget Brenda's perfect timing!. way to go Brenda. thanks all for sharing. ECF
I love that Abby still calls you Daddy.
I love that the kids can learn and sometimes stumble and everyone can joke about it. You all create a safe space to learn.
That was fun. What a wonderful life you seem to have. I know it's a ton of work, but being with those beautiful horses, out of doors and being with your daughters has to be so rewarding.
AMEN, Kebo !!
Hi everybody, I am glad to see your girls helping you out during the summer and its nice to see them take the time to help their parents, you don't see too much of that these days most are stuck infront of a computer all day. Fresh country air, i love it it is so nice in the countryside the sweet smell in the air and then the agricultural smells hit you like a smack in the face but that's what make the countryside so wonderful. I had so much fun in the countryside when i was a kid. Do the cows let you touch them cos every cow i have seen the will be curious at first then they walk away just as you get close enough to touch them. I don't think cows like to trust humans very much. Anyways great job girls you did your Dad proud today as always. Brenda i have to say i loved how you timed coming out to help great timing now you can all go and have a warm drink. Hope to see you all in the next video have a great day.
As they say Abby, god loves a trier, I think a few more tries and you nail it. Love those horses all 4 of them such gentle giants and your dad is one hard working man, stay safe and love the videos.
This has gotta be one of the "funnest" video clips you have made !! What with all the comments everyone was making about the condition of the ground all around the cow paddock, combined with the smell from the wet bales !! Worst smell imaginable !! I can certainly empathize, as my wife's parents were dairy farmers in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia), years ago !! Same pungent aroma - ugh 😩!!
bonjour y'all what a treasure you have in girls Jim et Brenda. what troopers to work with wet hay... barnyard paradise.
what mad backing up skill Miss Abby... duly impressed.
Bonjour!
@@WorkingHorsesWithJim Éclat de rire, well done monsieur Jim
That was a great lesson that showed the secret on how to drive horses when Abby tried to back up and then Jim did it perfectly. The horses are surely more used to Jim's voice but finally he's giving clear, calm and less commands that are synchronous with the lines :-) Still that is interestingly a very different way of using the lines than I do. Have a beautiful weekend!!
I love how Brenda said “I came to see if you need any help now that you are done.” My wife says the same thing and I get a tickle every time.
Haha
It's about time.... Thank you Jim for the nice view ....!!!!!!
Another view of our departed Buck.
He was so regal with his gray flecks on his face.
Jim, you are so fortunate to have these two beautiful girls to help you and spend time with you
Relish every moment,,,we miss ours
Ladies like you are keepers. You know what hard work is and you are able to to this job as well as anyone. Congratulations to both of you
Helping Dad on the farm: I identified with this so much.
One day the girls will be teaching their offspring to back up. Tomorrows a new day, yesterday is the past. Good luck. Blessed.
Jim your Daughters are very pretty and talented.
Hey guys , one of my fondest's memories is the sleigh and team my Grampa drove , bells and all was so magical to take part of .
The percherons Listened to the girls then gave a head shake. HA HA HA.
I just loved this video. The horses are amazingly smart and you can tell the girls enjoy spending time with dad!
It's nice to see the girls have taken time to help out around the farm lately. Gives the Mrs. time to tend to the home front.
I grew up feeding baleage to diary cows by hand. trust me Jim when you cut the wrap I can smell it......Memories
I am not going to say a thing about driving skills. Loved the video. Now I will sleep well. Have a very blessed week end.
Love seeing the girls home and helping!!! Ken and Buck are so pretty. I can see how backing them in the barn isn't as easy as it looks. Jim makes it look easy though! Good job everyone!
I'll give Abby an "A" for Effort and Patient! Keep working on it and you will get it just as good as your dad! Great video of the girls' chatting!
That's called "horsing around"! Nice try! I already know what it smells like! We use to direct chop grass and put it in the silo! Then when we fed it, sometimes we would get a note from the creamery that the milk smelled slightly! Oh, Brenda's like a blister- shows up when the work is done!!🤣 keep trying, Abby! That's how i learned to back a tractor & spreader under the barn cleaner!
Hello to the best family in the word , I love working with horses , Abby's beautiful smile brings happiness, to our house . Of course , her sister not only has a happy smile but also gives us hope in life , She was very excited to feed the cows , pray for you I will make you healthy forever , I am following you from Iran .Behnam Salamat
These amazing horses, I think they're fabulous. Well taught, and they work straight. To maneuver you have to have experience. The work on the farm helps a lot.
Love the stories and the giggles girls. Reminds me of when my daughter was still living at home.
🎁🎊HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM🎉🥳
and many more to come. Enjoy your day with your family I hope. Keep up the good work.
You girls are adorable. I love it when you help dad. You 2 bring a lot of fun to these videos.
😊 thank you
Outstanding the legacy Jim and wife passing along knowledge!!
Thanks for sharing, Happy Birthday Jim couple days early
Girls are funny me and my sister go on like this too 🤣 thanks for another great video 😊
I love the girls' stories....surprised that these horses would bite....more stories please. Love to hear the horses' antics.
My perch mix never tried to bite BUT do pure percherons have “ iffy” temperaments? Are they a breed that has that tendency? Jus’ asking…
Well, looks like the new wagon is getting the job done. The horses are up to the job to be done. The two young helpers, well, they take instructions really well. All that makes the work to be done go so much better. Your a lucky man Jim. Thanks ☺️.
Hi Jim, always good to have some support. Farm on, Andreas
LoL, great try backing up Abby. I know I would have messed that up.
The life you love to live, makes me happy, you don’t have much to worry about if our circumstances take a downward turn.. hope you get my drift. I’m loving this family working together, and the girls sharing stories. So cute! Plus hearing ‘Daddy’ that’s ❤️
Abby and Trudy stories is how little house on the prairie all came together just using life stories
Great video Jim Abby and Trudy
What a great time. Even though your working its great that your parents and the horses.
HII Jim,
Happy Birthday!!! I througholy enjoy you videos - my grandfather had a team of horses & worked them right up to his retirement. your 3 ladies are of great assistance.
Wayne
Give Abby 40 acres and she'll turn that team around...
Seriously, y'all are the bomb.
Haha
Happy birthday, Sunday Jim. Have a great day
Wel Jim, The cows are getin a well rounded meal.
Haha, yes
There is nothing like laughter from your kids Jim. And the big babies sure are worth their weight in gold.
Trudy sure isn't scared of keeping up with her dad. Abby great move getting caught on top of the bail and all the cows eating and keeping you in line. Haha. Great job all GOD Bless.
Hard working girls.those cows were hungry.like you say sometimes you have to do what you gotta do and drop the bales where you can.great video.
Favorite thing about fall .... The colors ....Things I dislike the most ... shortening of the light period of the day.
Happy birthday Jim!
Nice job ladies have a great day.
Awwww so fun,,,,this is the best ever....the whole thing was great,,,I'm so glad I didn't miss on second of viewing,,this made our day...we were not able to be with our family for Thanksgiving and this took the cake,,,!
My dear Abby,
When you have the experience your Dad has with the horses - you, too will be as good as he is !! Besides, his voice alone, is more "authoritative" (deeper) than yours and he works with them EVERY DAY, not just on the occasional weekend, like you do !! Having said that, I think you do an amazing job with ALL the horses !!😘
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JIM .... AND MANY MORE
Good evening Jim and Brend, another wonderful video once again ..... thankyou 😊 all the very best 🌱🌱🌱💕 we have very very wet and windy weather at the moment.
As always, a joy to see your daughters helping around the farm. It was good to hear Abby's response to reading, I myself was never a book reader but after giving my life to JESUS I can say I enjoy reading my Bible. Probably the only book I have ever read completely through. Keep the videos coming GOD BLESS
Remember on our little farm as kids we had what was called “silage” and it stunk but the cows loved it. I think what happens the grasses ferment and we know that cause the natural sugars to increase which gives the smell unfortunately. Was not a good idea to give them much though as they can scour! The cows are sweet toothed.
The girls are amazing know how proud you guys must be thanks for sharing .
Yes, we are proud of them
👍👍👍👍👍 You girls did good, again. ❤️💚💚💜💗 Thanks Jim.
Love seeing how useful the horses can be.
I m genuinely very impressed with Abbies efforts, especially the backing up, its just not that easy!
Thank you for the video , enjoy watching , I miss seeing true farm life like yours , My uncle had working horses on his farm , would always enjoyed helping him , that was over 40 years ago .
Now we know what happened to the boards on the corner of the barn. Ha ha
I done thought that was ABBA fixing to sing to us LOL
Right tune anyways

Abby, after you have backed up teams as many times as your Dad has you won't have a problem doing it either.

Lovely stories and family fun. Those bales are hernia makers
Brings back memories of working a team of percherons with my grandfather. Jim has the same patience that my grandfather had. Thanks for the videos I love to see the vids with your cattle included.
Happy birthday to you Jim. Wishing you and your family a very nice day. Best regards from Denmark. 🇺🇲🇩🇰🇺🇲
Liked your video. And your daughters. Always like hearing there storyies. You did a really good work Miss Abby. You had it backing up. Just so close.. Cant wait for the next
hope you all had a good thanksgiving
Practice makes perfect , my dad would always make me do it. Awesome video.
I have never driven horses so I have no advice for Abby. I will say she did much better than I would do for sure. Jim does make it look so easy and the horses always are on their best behavior for him. I am sure editing has nothing to do with it. :) Trudy is the star of today's video IMHO. I did not hear her complain once. She just got the job done. Love the videos. I'm glad Brenda came out to check up on y'all. Hope y'all had a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing.
Lady's happy holidays and stay warm. 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
