I've just visited Dublin, and I got scammed outside of the Guinness storehouse. Me and my family saw the sign for a ride on the horse and cart for 4 of us. The sign said €30 to the temple bar. When we got off, I gave the guy €30 and he said it's €30 each €120 for a 10 minute ride. Be aware. Make sure you ask first, is it for each person, or just don't go on.

That's a scam. Stay away from those guys.

I've lived in Dublin all my life and never heard of this. Giving the thumbs up to someone across the road could mean anything.
