If you're a telecaster fan I would definitely try a Baja, I have one that I absolutely love. One of those instruments you find yourself constantly picking up and playing. Great pickups, great neck 👏 👍 👌.
I just bought a Baja on eBay for £500 and am delighted with it. That neck in maple, and the custom tone controls are superb All in perfect condition. I will really enjoy playing this for years to come
I own a Baja..same as the one your playing...I owned a hohner tele copy same as Prince played for a few weeks 29 years ago but part exchanged it for rickenbacker 330 after 6 months...( which I also promptly sold as apart from the cool looks my strat could out jangle it and everything else besides lol)..I always fancied a tele after 38 years of playing strats mainly with the occasional les Paul standard.. although I prefer juniors...and various others...I didn't do a awful lot of research but wanted it to look the part....butter scotch....brass bridge ect....the USA 50s one was a bit too pricey...but I saw a Baja on ebay for 600 quid...and took a chance based on how it looked in the photos ....I lucked out big style...it even came with a tweed case...quality wise it equals my 1998 USA fender deluxe strat... fantastic playing and sound 👌...I reckon fender discontinued them as they were a match for the USA made ones....imagine if Gibson had Gibson branded les Paul's 335s...hummingbirds ect made in Mexico....they probably never sell a "real " USA one again 😉😀....
@@thesmartway693 The 50's is also great because I prefer the thicker neck. I also like the extra sound options with the 4 way switch and out of phase. Its very unusual for a Tele.
@@Edward1312 that's where it gets subjective as I said in the video I didn't like the thick 50s neck and I also liked the idea of the out of phase but after playing it I found it to be very weak 😔
@@thesmartway693 The Baja teles hold their value on the used market. The market never lies, I think in years to come they will be viewed in the same way as the original Japanese JV Fender Squires.
I’ve owned both the Baja telecaster and jimmy page dragon I must say I love jimmy page… but I sold it. The neck on the Baja was more comfortable and the pickups were more midrange very similar to my Les Paul standard where as the dragon tele was amazing for rock… trying to do anything clean was a muddy mess of slightly more overdrive than I can accept for a clean tone…. The neck on the dragon tele wasn’t too thin or anything it just wasn’t big enough for my hands. I also prefer the gloss neck over satin.
I own the 50’s Baja and the 60’s Baja tele’s. They are my favorite Tele’s and I will never sell them. Above average quality and versatility.

The vintera modified is equally as good. Had Baja, and now a VM.

Amp doesn't do either guitar any justice
Baja is a really good telecaster
Nice job on the video, Thanks 😊 👍
Thank you for watching please subscribe as I have other videos to come 👍👍
The Baja Tele is the only Tele that will do Michael Schenker (wah cocked) tones! Yes, that's right.
Shame the Baja Tele has been discontinued.
Yes and since this video i have played a 60's Baja and its the absolute business

Do you think the Jimmy page guitar will. Appreciate in value ?
Yes definitely. I think they are discontinued now.
