How fascinating these two brothers are.
Also, historically, when Germany as a nation did not exist but they believed in a united brotherhood of Germans.
They were are upstanding and certainly strong minded men to stand up to King Ernest Augustus who was an died in wool conservative and believed in absolute monarchy.
Wonderful doc with the context that most people never get to hear. More than children stories, people! Well done.

While I have my own valid and personal contentions with German Nazis, thank GOODNESS they're NOT in the majority here. Everyone in American today won't want to be known as a MAGA-hat wearer... don't throw with rocks in a glass house! Eh?
What a wonderful Documentary! I love The Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales.
Too bad people self-censored... but doesn't EVERYBODY who lives in an illiberal society get forced to self-censor or risk the wrath... not just of unsavory leaders, but society as a whole.
Depth Psychologist Dr. Bruno Bettelheim wrote a brilliant book on the symbolism in European Fairy Tales. And it is a fascinating read despite the child sexual abuse accusations against Dr. Bettelheim.💙
