    Very thorough, I appreciate that.
    In the colder temperatures installing a battery blanket or roughly insulating the compartment will go a long way to prevent the internal heaters from turning on.
    In the larger RVs with forced air I've seen people install a winter duct to gently heat the compartment. A little bit of propane is a tremendous number of BTUs.

      Burning stuff works!
      Personally I’d go for a Chinese fuel burning heater and run on Paraffin or Diesel depending on what you can get.
      Petrol is possible but a bit to boomy if it goes awry.
      Take care M.

    Definitely looking at Epoch, partly because of your videos and because Epoch is located in Georgia where I live. Thanks.

    We have a 2021 Navion 24V that we followed your video and replaced the 2 AGM batteries with the Epoch 300ah. The system works great discharging and charging but we get a low voltage alert on the inverter when using the microwave. I check that the inverter setting were set to your specs but I can see by the epoch app that the voltage drops to 11.3 from 13.4 when the microwave is cycling up its power. My guess is that battery BMS can't provide that amount of voltage to this heavy user appliance or is there a settings I can adjust? Thanks

    Have you looked at the EPOCH 300ah V2 battery with Victron support? Would that be an even better option for the Navion/View?

    • @ttl_channel

      According to the specs it’s 9.5” wide which is too big for my battery compartment

      It’s a compressor (12V only).

    Used your Battery Link .... let me know if you get your commission. I'm building a boat solar system using Redarc Manager30 w/ Aferiy S400 solar panel. Formula boats never provided a proper dedicated house battery during that time. Your research was very helpful

    Thanks for all the information!!! I'm preparing to purchase a 2022 Winnebago VIEW 24J. My plan is to upgrade to a EPOCH 12V 460Ah, did you upgrade your roof solar panels?

    • @ttl_channel
      @ttl_channel  2 месяца назад

      I did not upgrade the roof panels, but use portable panels and a solar generator as my backup.
      Also, be sure to double check that the 460Ah battery fits in your battery compartment - it is too big for mine.

    I have a 23D Navion and looking at this as a solution from my stock lead acid batteries. I think my battery box is the same so I am wondering if you had to do anything to modify your under step battery box to fit the Epoch 300ah battery? Thank you so much for sharing the information.

    • @ttl_channel
      @ttl_channel  9 месяцев назад +1

      I would think the battery box is the same. I did not have to make any modifications, but I did need to remove the 2 fuse holders from the rear wall in order to slide the wider battery in, then replace after it was in place. Also, note that the original battery retaining clamps do not fit the Epoch, so you will need to rig something there also, but that was easy enough.

      I have a Winnebago View, same battery box, same battery, and same installation obstacles. I'm very happy with mine as well.
      I went a step further and added a transfer switch and inside 30 amp plug. I can switch between shore power, generator, and Anker 767 Solar Generator without leaving the RV.

    • @FWMCBigFoot
      @FWMCBigFoot 9 месяцев назад

      @@michaelluksich2162 I secured my battery with huge zip ties from Harbor Freight. 2' x 1/2", I think 2 sets of three, maybe four.

      @michaelluksich2162 Humm, I swear I answered your question yesterday, but I don't see my reply. My Epoch battery is secured by large zip straps from Harbor Freight. I used two sets of 4 straps, so if one set fails, I have a backup. I'll probably replace them every spring. Cheap insurance. Large like 2' long x .5" wide.

    Thank you for the thorough review, timely as I just purchased and awaiting delivery of one. I am curious, in your install video you showed your bus bar on top of the battery and mentioned possibly creating a more permanent mount? Also have you, or have you considered replacing your Zamp PWM charge controller with MPPT? Thank you.

    • @ttl_channel
      @ttl_channel  4 месяца назад +1

      Have not made a permanent mount for the bus bar yet (but it’s secure). I have thought about replacing the Zamp, but I’m actually more focused on using portable solar, with an Ecoflow solar generator as my recharge/backup setup. I am hoping to make a video on this shortly.

    Not stalking but have worked my way through most of your videos. Great job and thank you. Planning on the Lithium Battery upgrade. Epoch still on special but out of stock until Feb 12. But I am leaning to try (2) of the one you used and cutting handles off like another commenter mentioned in the other video comments. Is 600 Ah overkill?

    • @ttl_channel
      @ttl_channel  9 месяцев назад

      No way is 600Ah too much! Nothing better than camping in style without having to worry about having enough power. I did consider cutting off the handles and putting in 2 - might still do it at some point.
      If you do end up buying the Epochs, would appreciate if you used my link. Thanks.

      How much do you gain but cutting handles off?

    • @m0rg4nMac
      @m0rg4nMac 8 месяцев назад

      Batteries have been on back order since early January so will not receive until late March. Theoretically, without handles each new battery is only .6 inches wider and the battery compartment seems to have several inches available (it will be tight)

    May I ask , why this brand ?
    Did you look at Battle Born ?

    • @ttl_channel
      @ttl_channel  11 месяцев назад +2

      Battle Born is quite expensive and I would be limited to 200Ah. There is a discussion of this in my review video (ruclips.net/video/5-1wdkakAxI/видео.html). Thanks for watching.

    You clearly don't know how low temperature protection and "self-heating" actually work, including that they only affect battery charging, not discharging.
    LiFePo4 batteries can be discharged down to -4F (-20C).
    I got nothing from this other than an understanding of what your power consumption is.
