  • After riding dirt bikes way too big for her frame, Alexis finally found the perfect solution to her vertical challenges, the Beta X-Trainer. Unfortunately the bike still isn’t the answer for everything and it took her for a wild ride a few times. But overall she feels way more comfortable on it than the KTM and she is happy to have made the switch.
    The ultimate answer is seat time and enjoying the struggle which is exactly what we do in today’s video!

    More weight to the pegs using her legs should help her maneuver the bike. Instead of using upper body.. There is much more power in your legs :)

    The x trainer is awesome, especially if you’re short. The front fork just deflects off everything, and makes getting over some stuff really hard if you don’t have a lot of experience.

    I have not read through all the comments so maybe somebody has already mentioned this.
    I noticed she takes her feet off the pegs a lot when she's in sketchy situations. That action causes one to lose much control over the motorcycle.
    She should try to keep her feet on the pegs and apply light to moderate 'clamping pressure' against the tank or forward most part of the seat with the mid-sections of her legs.
    I'm sure she'll notice a dramatic difference in the way the bike handles.
    I think she's going to be a damn good rider.

  • @gophop

    3:16 one can double blip that. It's low enough to make it to the top without relying on powering over the log. But not the way you do it. Your double blips are too quick; the suspension doesn't load up enough in between. That's common early on, as you're still afraid that you won't drop the clutch soon enough and end up stalling against the log. You need to pick up the front further away and higher up. Roll slower, so the bike starts falling back down before ramming into the log. Much more compression that way. More revs and a quicker clutch drop will shoot you right up. Just a matter of trying it 200 times :)

  • @MaxDragosei
    @MaxDragosei 9 часов назад

    Why don't we help her by suggesting to leave the back back in the car, not to have that unstable weight unbalancing her around and suggest the right body position during the hill climb to prevent her from unnecessarily felling down and ultimately hurting herself? Maybe less entertaining fails but the right thing to do for a fellow rider / girlfriend / ultimately woman that should not get hurt when avoidable.

    Random comment. I have a DRZ400S... only "dirt bike" related bike I've ever been on. Single track is... tricky? I'm a noob though haha. Seems like actual 2 stroke dirt bikes are lower and smaller/lighter. Anyways cool vid! Love the content keep it up!

    • @johncarson2128
      @johncarson2128 2 года назад

      If anything most 2ts and 4t dirt bikes will be a bit taller than the DRZ, they'll both be considerably lighter. The Xtrainer is about 7/8 size and approx 2" lower than a standard KTM. I get you, it is tough though 😀

    I just came across your channel. My wife is vertically challenged as well. She is just under 5' and REALLY doesn't like being on her tippy toes. She'd prefer to be flat footed, but I'd like her to have something more capable to make trails easier. Do you mind me asking your height? Have you modified the XTrainer to be lower in any way? Thanks.

    She is getting better for sure and it helps to have the right bike. The XT has a smaller frame and lower seat height which is perfect for short riders. Makes me want to load up my Beta and head out there with you guys!

    That is a great bike for her to keep forever. No more power needed at all for a especially a new” rider. I like how it’s lower ,and lighter weight. Those a fun bikes for even very experienced riders. She needs to stick with one bike and really learn it well. Switching constantly won’t help her as much as learning a bike. You see things from an experienced riders perspective I think. Let her get use to it. You will see massive improvement.

      @efrey614 2 года назад +1

      @@deadcaptainjames6045 I agree 100%. The crf150r crf wasn’t a bad bike either for her .but it’s made more for mx racing where I came from it had enough power for years of riding though, a 150r can really rip, No headlight, but can be modified for a decent woods bike. I ride every type of riding. Life long rider though. Dirt ,and street. I plated my Wr250f for legal off road trail hopping ,and use my Crf250l to comfort ride back ,roads dirt roads, and moto camping trips . I couldn’t turn it into the wr250f. It was cheaper to just buy a third bike that would do what my skill is capable of when I want to rip on gnarly off road ,and could actually log hop ,and jump it . My 250l is modified ,and very comfortable, and ,I still love it for how I use it. I ride a lot of wheelies on it on deserted roads. I tend to make bikes my own ,and own them as long as possible. I lost my Dyna wide glide I had since I was 18 in a flood a few years back. It was a blessing in disguise. I got the $ amount of my 3 mint bikes for the amount progressive paid out. The two dual sports I road them up the steps into the house,and put them on tables to save them. Jump started the Harley it started right up ,but in a rush I didn’t immediately disconnect it from a big battery my neighbor brought over ,and fried something electronic . By then though it was too late I Jacked it up 3 feet , but that didn’t help it still went well over the top of the windshield. That’s great you got you woman riding. That’s awesome.. wow I typed to much sorry.

    Do you also tell her to try to look as far ahead as possible? It will really help her to chose the best/ easiest line before it’s too late. I know she’s a beginner. I am a long time subscriber of your channel. Do you teach her rev matching yet? I use engine braking a ton on my three 4 stroke bikes ,but have heard with a 2 stroke you really shouldn’t, but I haven’t raced a 2 stroke since 2004 so I’m not sure if that’s true, or not as I haven’t had a need to look into it. I remember a girlfriend when I use to race motocross I was 18 at the time ,and I remember teaching her how to ride. She went from no way to this is fun pretty dang quickly ,but unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to really teach her for years on end. It’s great to get any girls on dirt-bikes. Especially if you want to ride a lot ,and have no kids then teach your significant other on a trail bike ect in the grass ,or dirt. It’s way better to start off road than throwing them straight onto street riding immediately. Real Off road experience makes any later road riding easy ,and a little loss of traction, throttle clutch ,and break control are all already mastered .
    Also gravel ,or an obstacle won’t panic you. Muscle memory will act on its own. If new to the street though new riders also need to realize multiple cars usually with women driving will pull out directly in front of you many times , and no they are not trying to kill you, their brain just doesn’t register you as a threat. After a while you get to recognize that million mile hollow stare straight through you if they are not in sun glasses ,and will be ready for it far in advance.
