    Hey Nokuhle. Thank you so much for the calculations. If possible please assist with how medical aid, text free savings, investments affect your returns? Coz yoh it's a hustle when you are paying for someone else's medical aid

    • @nokuhlekumalo
      @nokuhlekumalo  Год назад +1

      Hey Babalwa ☺️ thanks for watching. So will try briefly explain. (1) Medical aid payments you’ve made will REDUCE your taxable income, so similar to that individual rebate there are also prescribed medical aid rates. And if you have more than one beneficiary SARS gives you a bigger reduction. (2) if there are any medical expenses that you paid out of pocket ie. Not paid for by medical aid, these may allow for an ADDITIONAL rebate on top of the medical aid rebate. But there’s a calculation of what portion of that amount is deductible just make sure you keep all these documents of expenses for such purposes. E.g. when you get glasses AG Specsavers and they make you pay for the bluelight effect, you could claim that for your return since medical aid doesn’t cover it. (3) Investments: the companies that hold your investments should email you or make documents available on their apps where they clearly state that these are for tax purposes. These documents outline how much interest income or dividends you’ve received for the year. The income you earn will be added to your taxable income but SARS also provides a standard deduction that can be applied (because they still want to encourage people to invest) but if you invest ABOVE a certain amount then you will pay tax on that portion. (Sorry I don’t have my handbook on me so I can’t really quote specific paragraphs 🥹 bht hope this helps a bit…)

      When u pay MA that is not urs, you need to submit 1. list of ur monthly contributions 2. an affidavit from the person u are paying MA for declaring ur relationship (i.e if it is ur mom, she will have to do an affidavit stating that u are hef child) 3. Copies of ur monthly bank statements showing the contributions 4 and of course the MA certificate from the service ptovider.

    Makhumalo. Please help me here how much should someone who's 6.400 a month should be paying tax?or which bracket is that person belongs to?

    • @nokuhlekumalo
      @nokuhlekumalo  Год назад +1

      R6400 GROSS per month is approx R76 800 per month.
      Therefore yaz would be in the first bracket, so 18%.
      So per month tax should be R1 152 (at most). But may be less because of the rebates that this person may qualify for (individual, medical aid etc).
      I hope this helps 👌🏾.
