WHAT ARE WARTS AND VERRUCAS:
Warts and verrucas are small lumps on the skin that most people have at some point in their life. They usually go away on their own but may take months or even years.
Warts do not cause you any harm but some people find them itchy, painful or embarrassing. Verrucas are more likely to be painful - like standing on a needle. Warts and verrucas are caused by various strains of the human papilloma virus (there are over 100 strains, and there’s pretty much no avoiding getting at least one of them through such things as shared changing rooms).

WARTS AND VERRUCA TREATMENT:
Well, the plain truth is that two thirds of the time they will just disappear within 2 years, as your body eventually recognises and deals with the infection. But if you don’t fancy waiting that long (or you’re one of the unlucky remaining one third), you’re faced with some options.
There are plenty of ‘wart clinics’ ready to freeze your wart or verruca with liquid nitrogen - but this can damage the surrounding skin and the evidence for its effectiveness turns out to be surprisingly slim.
Please note: None of the treatments in this video should be used for warts on the face or genitals please seek medical attention for these.
You can also buy creams, plasters and sprays from pharmacies to get rid of warts and verrucas. These treatments can take up to 3 months to complete, may irritate your skin and do not always work. You should not use these treatments on your face or genital area.
The last option which is my favourite is the duct tape technique explained in the video which has been shown to be rather effective. And duct tape is relatively cheap and easy to use at home, so you might want to give it a go.
WHEN TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION:
• You're worried about a growth on your skin
• You have a wart or verruca that keeps coming back
• You have a very large or painful wart or verruca
• A wart bleeds or changes in how it looks
• You have a wart on your face or genitals

HOW TO STOP WARTS AND VERRUCAS SPREADING:
Warts and verrucas are caused by a virus. They can be spread to other people from contaminated surfaces or through close skin contact. You're more likely to spread a wart or verruca if your skin is wet or damaged.
Do,
• Wash your hands after touching a wart or verruca
• Change your socks daily if you have a verruca
• Cover warts and verrucas with a plaster when swimming
• Take care not to cut a wart when shaving
Don't,
• Do not share towels, flannels, socks or shoes if you have a wart or verruca
• Do not bite your nails or suck fingers with warts on
• Do not walk barefoot in public places if you have a verruca
• Do not scratch or pick a wart

Cheers, Abraham, love your humour and great tip - my 8 year old daughter has 2 verrucas and we’ve tried all shop remedies, without success and she’s fed up and upset - however you’ve managed to make verrucas a topic of laughter - success 🙌🏽🙌🏽 Now to get some duct tape 😂
*Update - it worked! I got some duct tape and some surgical tape to stop it slipping off and we had it on for about 5 days and it went a bit black and now there’s pretty much nothing there. I spent so much on treatment that just didn’t work and was painful and this is brilliant - thank you ☺️

How long did it take to heal?
BF how is your child doing? Have they returned? I pray not. I am inquiring because my son been having warts for the last 3 years we go to the dermatologist for the freezing treatment and in a few weeks the warts are back. My precious son does not want the freezing treatment no more and send me this video. I pray our beautiful children are healing amen.
I ‘killed’ a wart I had a couple times, but it kept coming back and getting bigger. More warts started coming along as well, but I didn’t have the persistence to keep trying to get rid of them. After about a year and a half though, they all disappeared on their own. The immune system is a wonderful thing.
Yeah, i had like 23 warts on my foot and after 3 years, 3 YEARS they disapperead

When I had a wart on my foot I put salt on the wart, put tape on it for the 6 days and then pulled it out, didn't hurt at all and healed really fast

Does it have to be tape or can you also use plasters if the tape comes off? I have one on my finger and depending on how busy my day is it comes off then applying a plaster
I’ve had verrucas on both of my feet for as long as I can remember, and I was wondering if normal tape would work too, or is it just duct tape? I’ve dealt with the verrucas on my feet for so long, I just want them gone.

I can't wait to try this. I've had a verucca on my foot for about 15 years. It never hurts but I'm fed up of it. Another little one just popped up too. I went to a podiatrist about 10 years ago to get it looked at and they told me "if its not hurting, don't bother getting it removed. Too much hassle and they often come back" I've got the duct tape on both of them now. Hope my excessively sweaty feet don't scupper the sticking properties of the duct tape! I shall post back if it works. Onwards and upwards to wart free heaven!

Super glue or nail polish have the exact same effect. Get some gorilla glue if you're worried about moisture or traction.

@@EowynG191 Hi, nope. Feet way to sweaty so I switched to Scoll Verucca and Wart Removal Pen. On round 3 of treatment (that's 3 weeks in. This verucca is stubborn!!) So far it's turned into a hard scab. Hopefully it will fall off in a few weeks. Sick of the thing!!

Does this work on plantar warts that are deep under the skin?
@AbrahamthePharmacist I've had a callous on the ball of under my big toe that I can usually manage as just hardened skin, but today there's a black dot so I'm thinking varruka. I want to try the duct tape but is the black dot blood vessel or is it something I should be trying to 'squeeze out." Also, when you say a va=erruka is contagious, I've been touching this thing forever...will it transfer elsewhere on my body like poison ivy?

Thank you for the advice. Any chance u wud know anything about reducing the appearce of nasolabial folds/laugh lines. I'm only 15 and I've got them, it makes me rly self-conscious and worried.
I used to tape crushed garlic on the bottom of my feet where I had the plantar wart and go to sleep every night with my socks on....... I had the wart for almost a year then I found out what it was and treated it like this and 2 weeks later my skin peeled off and the wart is out!!!

Thanks for the vlog. Tried treatment for warts for weeks but didn't work .tried your gaffer tape tip and the wart as gone in 5 days. Also found on RUclips to use banna skin taped over did this for about 5 hrs . Thanks again worked for me.

What is banna skin?
I had a wart on my finger when I was 11 years old. My grandma told me to take a penny ( clean it in a bowl of apple cider vinegar 1st) rinse it off and place the penny on the wart with a band-aid for 2 days. I could feel it working and of course the area was a little green from the copper...but the wart was gone and the green disappeared after a few days.
Hi Abraham, I have a large verruca on the heal of my foot that's been there for years now. I've tried tape briefly in the past, but just falls off due to feet sweating. I've tried frozen from a clinic, but after 4 sessions, it was still there & costing me £50 every visit, so gave up.
What about flat warts on the face?

😟 Thanks doctor, ive had a verucca on the bottom of my foot for ages now. i will 100% try this as the last few times i used the pharmacy beamds containing salytic acid, i hurt like hell as it was coming off. Pray to God this works.
It worked for my daughter. Get some surgical tape too to tape the edges of the duct tape down. We had hers on for about 5 days and it went a bit black and now there’s barely anything there. The process was itchy but no discomfort. Good luck 🙂

Thanks for this. 2 years ago I had 7 warts (of various sizes) appear on my fingers...I tried chemist & prescription acids = nothing worked. I then put duct tape over them & they died in 3 days (I just had to scrape off the dead warts -now I’m clear). Thank you.

@@bizzaromicky71 Yes.....put a little duct tape over it & leave it there for a few (4/5) days to cut out light and air (if it comes loose put a fresh bit on). When it turns white/wrinkly, scrape it out & put fresh piece of tape over it.

@@bhawana8427 When it turned white I couldn’t actually feel anything when cutting away, but do be careful not to cut into ‘unaffected’ flesh.

My sister has been to hospital and has broken her shoulder in three places plus her upper arm has broke too!!!! I know it will take time and she might have to have a operation. Why do i keep getting them in between my fingers? Like only one will pop up and ill get rid of it snd anther will pop up in between another finger always at the inside tip part.. and when i get rid of that one it seems they pop back up in the same spots as they have before.. but when i get rid of em the skin grows back fine and flat no scarring (at first but has scarred when they come back on the same spots..).. but itll go like months without any then ill start feeling one in between my fingers come on... and they dont go away.. only get bigger and more annoying.. i can cut them off flat wothout bleeding also but uunless i get the seed itll come right back up within a day or two.. never had any anywhere else besides the 5 spots on my hands in between my fingers... weird thing i think... or just odd...

Leave it on for 7 days, Can you remove it to have a shower or do you have to leave it on & stay dirty for the whole week?
What if you have a wart in between your fingers? Because they touch a lot it spreads easily.

I’m going to try this on my daughter. The only problem is…..the planter wart in on the bottom of her foot. She has a shower every morning before school….so the duck tape is likely to come off….so shall I just replace it if it comes off after her shower?
Does it matter what tape you use? Will using a different tape other than duct tape affect the wart or mess with the results?
Use regular duct tape only. It's cheap anyway, worth the couple of bucks.

Would this work for skin that had been cut then rehealed but making a wart or something like that (a while ago i fell off a scooter cutting my hand and the skin wasn't really off but almost and a few days later it formed like this wart or something like that so I'm wondering will it work for that? That might not be a wart and it might be better to have a health professional look at it.
Hi, thanks for the tip. I manage to find a kind of duct tape, called foil tape, made of aluminium. The description says "Duct sealing and general repairs". Do you think it will work the same as traditional duct tape?

I'm gonna try this I have one on my shin that doesn't even look like a wart. Dermal papilloma is what the pathologist called it. Don't know why the derm just didn't take it off during biopsy. Never offered even after getting results back from pathology.

Nothing works I’ve had cryo therapy for 6 months. All it does it hurt my foot. I’ve cut my planters wart off. Now there are spreading in the area. I have 3 quarter size planter warts now for 2 years. I don’t know what to do. Been to the foot doctor. Used the acid doesn’t work. This is my last ditch attempt. Super deep one in middle of heal that hurts constantly and burns.
