😃😃😃😃My Baptism at Myrtle Beach Kickstart was Powerful!!! Had Encounter with Jesus , crying and one of the things I said I wanted to bury was every person that touched me when I was little and while crying while encounter with Jesus I saw a vision and it was me when I was 5 years old , dead in a coffin. God buried the fear of man without me asking and I ran up on stage that night so full of Jesus Spirit in me . I couldn't even contain HIS SPIRIT in me for days! I was like...I'm your bride ! I'm your bride!! Baptism, Bury The Old Man! Collisions. I saw that in the word after my baptism and was SO excited because it's biblical and that's Exactly what happened to me 🙏🏼😭😃 EVERYTHING of Jesus is backed up Biblically!! His word is True and Alive!

First Jesus crossed over the brook Kidron, which was full of blood that came from the Passah lambs slain at the temple.
Then Jesus sweat water and blood while he was praying in the garden.
Then Pilate washed the blood of Jesus off his hands.

Just as physical birth is the end result of a process so is spiritual rebirth. Water baptism is an important part of that process. Acts 2:38 is that process
Also water baptism is the antitype of the old covenants cleansing of the temple in preparation for the Holy Spirit entry with blood and water.
If water baptism is only symbolic why did the disciples in Acts ch.19 havd to be water baptized by Paul before they recieved the Holy Spirit ?

There are two types of works
Works of the law - self justification
Works of faith - works that precede from faith
Baptism is a work of faith - it is not something we do to "earn" our justification. It is something we do because of the work of Christ on the cross. It is not a work, it is a death sentence!

Hi Torben! Great podcast, great subject. We met first in London 2017 and briefly in Aalborg (last PTS group there). God told me to start a study on baptism in early 2017, starting with Noah, Moses and Jonah. Five years on and I am still seeing new things. There is great depth in baptism!
Any study of baptism must begin with the fact that the word 'baptize' is a transliteration of the Greek baptizo. The authors if the KJV didn't want to upset the establishment, which had by that time replaced baptizing with sprinkling. And so instead of translating to 'immersion' (as in the CJB) or 'washing', they invented a new word, 'baptize' - baptizo with an e instead of an o. Here is a quote from the Preface to the KJV...
"Lastly, we have on the one side avoided the scrupulosity of the Puritans, who leave the old Ecclesiastical words, and betake them to other, as when they put washing for Baptism, and Congregation instead of Church:"
Introducing 'baptize' into the English language was a great move from the devil. It allowed Christians of different convictions to interpret the word either as 'immersion' or 'sprinkling', thereby keeping everyone happy in so far as the sprinklers could continue sprinkling and the immersers could continue immersing, and everyone would be 'baptized' regardless.

    Hello dear brothers,
I am a missionary, working in the field, among refugees and local people.
We here baptize people right away, when they have repented. We explain what baptism is (from Rom 6, Col 2, 1 Peter 3 and of course Acts).
The way I explain it in short is that baptism DOES save a person FROM THE OLD LIFE. (The greek verb "Save" is not restricted in just "receiving forgiveness" in the Bible. It means deliver, it includes physical healing many times, etc. I am Greek so it is easy to find out).
The question in my mind is this:
We have elderly people around, (even relatives) that they can barely walk.
There is no way that I can get in the sea with them.
How do you deal with situations like this?
It just feels like placing a demand on them to "get in the water" somewhere in order for them to receive FULL SALVATION is just very difficult.
    I would appreciate your thoughts.
BTW these Videos/Podcasts are really really good!
We bless you for doing them.
Grace and peace in Christ Jesus

Not sure about teaching that the blood is applied during water baptism. The blood is applied by faith, as shown in Acts 10 with Cornelius and his household. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is only for the saved. When Peter saw that they had been accepted by God he then commanded that they be water baptized. I am with you on the power in water baptism. I have witnessed it and participated in it several times, and it is clearly taught in the scriptures. However, I think you are reaching beyond the clear teaching of scripture when you say that the blood is applied through the baptism. I love TLR and have been following you for years. Even attended a kickstart in Michigan with Mark and Jeremy and it was awesome. However, I am going to have to hold you to your own standard of the plain teaching of scripture on this one my brothers.

Romans 3:24-25 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Romans 4:23-25 Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

Excellent discussion, brothers! Please allow me to show there is an important Scriptural distinction between salvation of our SPIRIT and salvation of our SOUL…
Our repentance and water baptism bring salvation of our SPIRIT, which is a free gift, not by works. Jesus Himself taught that He will raise/resurrect all who believe in Him on the “last day” (John 6:39,40,44,54). They will be part of the New Jerusalem of Rev. Chs. 21 and 22. Hallelujah!
Now, all four Gospels record our Lord emphasizing that His disciples can receive salvation of our SOULS (Greek = psuche, often mistranslated life) in the next age (the Millennial Kingdom) by “losing” (denying) them now this age (study using Greek Interlinear Bibles Matt. 16:25-27; Mark 8:35-38; Luke 9:23-26; John 12:24-28). Salvation of our SOULS requires we do the Spirit-led works of the Father (emphasized by Jesus multiple times, and also in Hebrews and by James and Peter).
Salvation of our souls is the REWARD promised throughout the NT to disciples who suffer with Christ and persevere; it is the inheritance, the prized first resurrection that Paul sought so hard to attain (Phil. 3:11-14) - the race he sought to win (1Cor. 9:24 - 10:12, which Torbin even referred to).
This prize/reward of salvation of our souls is reigning with Christ during His imminent 1,000 year Kingdom on earth, which our Lord taught NOT ALL will be counted worthy to obtain (see Luke 12:34-36; Rev. 20:4-6; and Rev. Chs. 2&3 for starters).
Blessings to all who study this out!

In 1 Peter 3:21 the "lifting" of the boat heavenward by the water was a prefiguring of Christ's ascension. The reason Christ was raised and ascended to heaven to God was because he was righteous just as Noah was righteous. We PARTICIPATE in Christ's resurrection (and burial) by baptism which enables us to live a new, righteous, life. It is a righteous life which leads to eternal life - Rom 6:22.

If when we cast out demons we have to say in the name of Jesus Christ I command you to "come out" to cast them out; then I would think - in reading the sciptures - that we need to say I baptise you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Reminder we now know all about Jesus especially in the Western world - but in those days (2 thousand years ago) the gentile world never heard of him - and they worshipped many false gods - with their own names (the greeks and romans for example). So the name of Jesus would have to be used during baptism amid a very, very pagan society.

Baptism is part of sanctification. It is part of our ongoing walk with Christ. It is not part of justification/new birth. We are born again by believing, as Jesus said. Justified by faith in Christ alone as Paul repeatedly states. Don't mix up justification/regeneration/new birth is totally different from sanctification/being set apart/made pure. Justification is by faith in Christ alone we are legally made right with God. Sanctification we are told to fight and battle and obey and work. Our eternal inheritance is secured by Christ alone, not shared with the work of baptism. Paul is clear, if you add any work to faith in Christ for justification, you have fallen from grace. This is heresy from the pit

@@PowerintheBlood I believe that you are missing the significance and power behind baptism. Jesus said "I tell you the truth, noone can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit".
He couldnt be any clearer. Salvation is gaining entry into Christ, by whom we enter a new life, by death to self/sin/flesh, and the miracle of regeneration with a new heart and spirit, and the Spirit of God Himself entering our heart to do these things, Ezekiel 36:25-27.
Romans chapter 6 also makes it clear that baptism follows a choice to repent and die to the sinful nature, having faith the God can raise us from this death, into new life IN CHRIST, a new creature, led by the Spirit now, in righteousness.
This is the way which is eternal life IN CHRIST, redeemed, regenerate, sanctified and being sanctified; saved and being saved; righteous and being made righteous; dead and yet suddenly truly alive! A moment and a lifetime, and then the culmination when Jesus comes again. A miracle. A feat of God and not of man. Not an achievement of man, but of God. A mystery, yet made known to His own.

Baptism in water is absolutely important and something everyone should do. But to say that you can't enter heaven if you're not baptised in water(referring John 3:5), even though you've confessed Him as your lord and saviour - is not as clear as we might think. How can i say that and where is my evidence?
In John 3:5 Jesus says born, not baptised - however being born could have the same meaning as being baptised since the baptism is to die with chirst and to rise with christ aka being born again. Me personally think this is what it means. But there's an example of a person who got to heaven (was saved) without being baptised in water, and that is the man who hanged on the cross next to Jesus (luke 23:43). With that alone we can see that Jesus has ways we don't fully understand.
We (humans) have a tendency to over complicate things.
Here's my two cents. All who confess Jesus as their lord and saviour should also be baptised in water becasue that is what the Word says, end of story.
But to say that if you don't get baptised in water you won't be able to enter heaven is something we should be really careful of saying. Because there are situations like in luke 23:43 where people receive jesus minutes before their deaths and saying that those people wont get into heaven because they didn't get baptised in water is something i personally dont belive in.

Want to praise the Lord on the day of my baptism he revealed to my this, I told my children that I am now being prepared as a bride washed and cleansed for the wedding day. Then one of my born again friends through a word of wisdom confirmed this through the Word.
Why was Jesus first miracle at a wedding and why the water to 🍷 wine?
When you repent and choose to follow Jesus you now his bride to be.The water was to clean the bride for the bridegroom as was tradition in the Jewish culture. The wine is symbol of His blood cleansing us from sin. Hallelujah praise the Lord. In baptism we are now cleansed by his blood and come out clean and can now be free from the bonded to sin betrothed to Him, Jesus.
With the first miracle Jesus revealed the entire gospel. Now the bride eagerly await the returning of the Bridegroom
People that is still love sin of this world would like to use this miracle to say Jesus change the water into wine and he then I can still drink. What a ly of satan.

Some time ago I read a passage in the old testament while I was looking for answers about my baptism. The text said something about some feast (passah?) or something with some people not being cleansed properly. And there were other clean ones who prayed for the unclean ones that God will see them as clean and God had mercy on them because their hearts were pure... something like that. Is there maybe someone who knows the bible better than I do and can tell where that text can be found? 😅

Here's something I saw recently, the difference between John's baptism and being baptised into Jesus.
Jews came to John, confessed their sins and were baptised. They were then told to follow Jesus, because He is Salvation. Were those who were baptised forgiven their sins? Yes. Just like David and the people of Nineveh and anyone else who repented were forgiven in the OT. But were the saved? No. They still had a sinful nature, which is why Nineveh was eventually destroyed, despite being forgiven after Jonah's visit.
The baptism into Jesus is different. Scripture tells us that we are forgiven AND delivered or set free, that is, SAVED from sin and death. We are stripped of our sinful nature, which is our propensity to sin whether we want to or not, as we are united in Jesus's death, which is the death we should die, but don't because He died instead of us - - - and this is the 'washing away of sin' that saves us from our broken sinful nature.
One big problem is that many Christians never say what we are saved FROM. They say we are saved, the assumption being we are going to Heaven. But being saved only means something when you state what you are saved FROM. A person sinking in a river can be saved FROM drowning. A person in a burning house can be saved FROM fire. A person held hostage can be saved FROM death. Etc. We are saved FROM sin and death, because Jesus served the death sentence for sin on our behalf.

When a believer, according to Acts 2 :38, repents and is water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, the Holy Spirit, because of the shed blood of Christ, remits our sins by circumcizing our conscience, removing thr guilt from past sins, and restoring its original childlike sensitivity to sin.
This is the " washing of regeneration"(Titus 3:5).
The Word " regeneration defined means to," return something to its original state". The remission of sins, or removal of guilt, is what the Lord meant when He told the people that, " Unless you become as little children and be converted you will in no wise enter the kingdom of heaven" ( Matt.18:13)
We can't become as little children again, of course, as far as size ,but we can as far as innocence of conscience.

Here is one example to be careful which Bible we read. This is from King James, which again is from received texts. You can make up your own mind as to why all catholic approved Bibles have this edited out and watered down:
    1. John 5:5-8
(5)Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? (6)This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. (7)For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (8)And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the Water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
In Matthew 24:28 Jesus mentions "For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together"
I have not found direct connection between baptism and this verse, but the thaught I got from this, is the fact Jesus described there, and that the eagle is a scavenger. Also Jesus paralells birds eating the seed by the road. Since it is universal truth, that where the carcases are, the scavengers show up, there may be some link to the unburried dead body, and the birds (thaughts) eating it up, so there may not be any body left to bury later. Just speculation, but read 1. John 5:8 and check the received text and compare it to the Bible you read. This was important enough for the Vatican ministry of disinformation to change

According to Christ (Matt.12: 43) unclean spirits do seek out people in dry, waterless places to rest in (to possess). If we ruled out a literal significance of water in relation to unclean spirits then we're left with water baptism as a mere symbolic ritual, which I seriously doubt was Jesus' intention. Worse still, many evangelicals mistakenly pit the act of water baptism as works against faith.
But there is power in water baptism because it is a providence of God for salvation. Humans without God are in bondage of sin and we shouldn't be surprised if it's a bondage under unclean spirits.
Surely water baptism in the name of Jesus is God's wonderful providence to facilitate the driving out of unclean spirits so that the Holy Spirit may now indwell a believer and sin can go into remission. To obey in water baptism is to submit in faith to the providence of God for salvation.
The passage in Acts 2: 38 resonates the same meaning.
“...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
    God is good!

    Question to Torben:
I want to ask something about this word "regeneration". What do you mean with this? Actually a while ago we had a guy that came into our fellowship that stood very firmly on "that The last reformation do not believe in baptism regeneration" so this means that TLR do not believe that baptism is part of being born again. It was actually the first time we were confronted with this word "regeneration". We looked it up in the strongs and saw that it meant "new birth". We showed him that Jesus said that a man can not enter into the kingdom of God if he is not BORN out of WATER and spirit.. This man got really upset with us and said that we are misinterpreting you because according to him you guys are not saying that baptism is part of being born again but we understand this as a crucial part of being born again/as the new birth. So technically Torben, I want to ask you, is it not so that baptism actually is part of regeneration? Or do you mean something different with the word "regeneration" ?

Hi, this is Ever from the podcast, there is a regeneration happening in water baptism. Think of it this way, we lost something from a previous generation and Jesus came to bring it back. In order to come into it, we need to be regenerated which is through a new birth. That which was lost was access to the throne of God because of the body of sin and the blood of Jesus was the answer to this problem. We receive the blood in baptism thus receiving freedom from the body of sin. However, none of this is possible without believing that Jesus is the answer to our problem. Once we believe and turn to God, then we have access to the blood and the grace His gives by removing the body of sin. So baptism does bring regeneration but not alone, it happens with faith and belief. Amen

    Brother Piotr Podobiński words....
Perversion of Water Baptism and the Gospel in TLR
We all know that Torben often butchers the Bible without understanding of the deeper dynamics of the text, he regularly rips passages out of their context. One of the best examples of this is his usage of:
    Acts 2:38 (NET)
"Peter said to them, “Repent, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
There is nothing wrong with this wonderful passage, all orthodox evangelicals agree that we should baptize "in the name of Father Son and Holy Spirit", water baptism is an external token of something that happens on the inside in your heart. Your spirit is born again trough faith in the Gospel (as in story of Cornelius where he is SAVED and Spirit filled in one instant after hearing words of the Gospel, before being water baptized!) In water baptism you get to experience profoundly in your soul and your body what has already happened in your heart, baptism is also a beautiful act of confession, every Christian should be baptized, there is zero disagreement about it in faithful Christian churches.
What is wrong with Torben's teaching then?
Firstly he changes definition of the Gospel, he often says "Gospel is repentance + water baptism + Spirit baptism"

Another observation. Those who think baptism is 'works to dalvation' do not see the supernatural in baptism. They see it only as a purely physical event. But the circumcision if the heart that occurs in baptism must be supernatural. It cannot be anything else. God is supernatural. He does supernatural things. Namaan was supernaturally healed from leprosy when he baptised himself seven times. So what is the problem with a supernatural God performing a supernatural heart operation in the water of a supernatural 'operating theatre' of His choosing? He is God after all. I cannot understand Christians who do not see the supernatural in God.

@30:20 Egypt- The blood of the Lamb saved them, but they had to go through the water to get their enemies off of their backs! They were not free from their bondage to Egypt until they passed through the water. The Blood and the water! Woo hoo!

We, as followers of the Messiah can be mikvahed as we are led by the RYH HAQDSH ( Spirit, the Righteous). // Anyone reading this who is not saved, ask the Messiah to be your Savior. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of Hayah (Romans 3:23). The wages for sin is death but the gift of ALaHYM is Everlasting Life through Messiah Yahushgh our Master (Romans 6:23). That if we confess with our mouth the Master Yahushgh and believe in our heart that ALaHYM raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved (Romans 10:9). And He Himself is an Atoning Offering for our sins, and not for ours only but also for all the world (1John 2:2).

Apparently, y'all have not heard of the dispensation of grace. We are not under the law and there are several scriptures that support that. Therefore, we have a different gospel than what noted in the four gospel and before the crucifixion. There is no conditions/works for our dispensation of grace. Our gospel is 1Cor. 15:1-4 and Eph 2:8-9. When Jesus said it was finish we can't add to that and say it's what we do, do, do. Salvation is what he done, done, done. You simply have to have faith and accept what He done.

@@TheLastReformation Christians do good works after and because they believe the gospel and still believe. Work such as sharing this gospel, helping the sick, feeding the poor..others. But, it is an insult to add or take away from the great crosswork wherein He shed His blood for our sins and gave it to us as a gift. In fact, Gal 1:8 gives a warning about use of a different gospel. (8) but though we, or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accused.

Why Paul said that ? 1Cor1:16And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not in wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made void.18For the word of the cross is to them that are perishing foolishness; but unto us which are being saved it is the power of God.

INFANT BAPTISM IS JUSTIFIED according to the Scriptures. 1 Cor7:14; Children are holy under believeing parents. Mat19:14; The Kingdom of God belong to such as these Children says the Lord. The way I understand is every child is holy and righteous because they were created in the image of God. For that reason under believing parents their souls are safe. If they die they will go to heaven as Jesus said. Nevertheless as they grow up under the rule of the devil in this world, they sin. So they need to repent and be baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit.

No. 1 cor 7.14 and Matt 19 don’t talk about baptism. You put the word in. If you understood baptism in water you will see that infant can not get baptized
