  • Night markets are part of Thai culture and it’s a great way for friends and family to meet up for dinner or snacks away from the heat of the day.
Each Saturday evening a huge walking street night market opens next to the skywalk on the River Kwai in downtown Kanchanaburi. It’s about 1km of shops selling everything from local snacks to clothing and much more.
It’s known as Kanchanaburi Walking Street and Song Kwai Night Market. It is a popular place for the locals and tourists to spend an evening. Prices are very reasonable and it’s a must see if you are in the area.

This is a great place to visit if you are in the area. Most people come for the war history. Here is a video I made a couple years ago of the bridge and other activities.

“I’d rather chicken eat the bug, I eat the chicken.” Agreed. Haha! Will be visiting Kanchanaburi and Songkhlaburi in the Fall. Thanks for the video.

@@felixchow5579 I was planning on riding to the border with Myanmar this trip but it’s flooding in Songklaburi now around the Mon Bridge. The Kwai Noi River is also very high and starting to flood now. No worries for the fall but I was wanting to make a few videos of that area. It’s fantastic country. If you get a chance try to take a boat trip to the temple that was flooded when they built the lake. I’ve been trying to do that for years and the flooding prevented me from doing it again. It gives me an excuse to come back again (like I need one. Lol)

Was at this market recently, enjoyed it and was able to relax and enjoy my food on the riverbank.
Thanks for your channel, I really like it. Those rocket vids were mad!

@@gotleft I really enjoyed the market as well, much better than JJ Market by the train station in my opinion. Glad you enjoyed the rocket festival. That was pure insanity and I loved it. I will try to go back next year again. Appreciate the nice comments about my channel. Always nice to hear people are enjoying my videos!
