Still one of my favourite getaways. First time was 1991 and wow, it was pristine. We had the place to ourselves. No resorts back then and just family bungalows on the beach. We haven't been since 2020, a week before lockdown. We have been there around 15 times over the years and will never tire of it. There are several other quieter spots further down the island where we prefer to stay. Thanks for the video👍🏻
Wow I bet it has changed since '91! I would have liked to have seen it then. We still enjoyed our stay even with the crowds, and did manage to find a few quieter beaches. Hope you guys get back there soon! Thank you for the comment! 🙏 👍
EDIT: We got the speed boat back to Rayong (booked the slow boat but it wasn't available on the day) the journey was actually fine, was just under 10 minutes and not too bumpy!
@@yanoftheworld If you in Jakarta try check small Hotel Choska..nice n only 4 minutes from Plaza Indonesia n Grand Indonesia mall..well known mall in Jakarta..the cost of the room around 27€ last week a British couple stayed there..ok enjoy Thailand🙂👍
@@yanoftheworld Just thinking if you visit Indonesia..Start in Jakarta spent 2-3 nites, then to Bandung by bullet train 45 minutes journey..spent 1 day there or just back again to Jakarta the same day..then go to Semarang for Krimun Jawa..island resort with shark farming..(you can play with baby/teenager shark swim around your legs) spent a nite or two in the Semarang..hv a night culinary at Semawis night market..then yje next day go to Jogjakarta spent 1-2..then to Malang for Bromo mountain..n next day to Surabaya..spent 1-2 days..then Bali by ferry..from Jakarta the route heads to east ward..kind of continous journey eastward start from Jakarta..and you can choose by train or plane..ok you can do research yourself all those places that I mentoined matr..🙂👍
Thanks Edwin! Some awesome info there, cheers for the tips! Always good to get a locals perspective. Might be a while until we are back but will definitely see Jakarta next time and take your advice. Cheers 🙏👍
