Please do an all cool toned look! I know you prefer warm, but I think you have a cool undertone and I think cool tones suit your undertone. I’d love to see it on you and see what you think!
It just goes to show how much makeup works differently for different people. Natasha Denona’s eyeshadow formula is probably at the top of my list. I own that palette and use it a lot. I have so many of the Rare Beauty liquid blushes that I won’t need to purchase any replacements any time soon. But, eventually, I want to try the Elf ones.
I have the same issue with ND mattes. They will stick to one spot and I get frustrated trying to blend them. I really enjoy Alter Ego formula and I don't have the same problem blending.
Obsessed with this background! It is so cute to casually see the cats on the tree and stuff :) I also liked your trees from the window background. Maybe you can switch it up :D Really liking the new backgrounds and your new hair!
I have bought a few of the Ulta palettes, and I also had a Natasha Denona and a Huda... who can tell the difference, not me!! And when I go on holiday, I take the Ulta and I'm not stressing it will get broken and I've wasted all that money!!!...they also do great brushes...I have that set and love it. I also have drugstore foundations that are great, long lasting and nice coverage...and some of the mascaras are even better than highend!!! Even skincare is good from the drug store (chemist in Australia)....
I totally see the creaminess you described with the alto ego palette!!! It makes me so curious on trying it omg! The equate alternatives are so nice, I’ve been using I believe a navy exchange alternative to the Vaseline body lotion that comes in a brown pump bottle and it’s sooo nice!!! and cheap jajaja 😆 can I just say I loved when you would zoom us in on the products like the brushes and we could see ur cat in slow mo it was so cute!!😭🐝💕 loved this video!
I have a lighter shade of the Rare Beauty blush and I can go right on the cheek with it like the Elf. I know you definitely can’t do that with the deeper shades, but I haven’t tried the Elf. I have always wanted to see a ND/ Alter Ego comparison!
I guessed which side was high end literally only because of the shimmer on your eyes! But all the dupes are so close and worth saving money on all of these products😊
And even if they don't last as long as the BK beauty brushes, you can easily buy the brushes again. You can buy almost five sets of the alter ego brushes for the same price.
I have the same issue with ND matte shadows being hard to blend. They want to stay put where you initially put them so I find myself using the tiniest amount and slowly building to my desired depth. It takes me so long to do a look with ND because I'm so careful! LOL I have so many Alter Ego palettes now and love them! I also love the Elf Camo Liquid Blushes. I have the Peach shade that you have and the deeper Mauve shade. I can apply the deeper shade directly on the cheek and blend it out as long as I do tiny dots (it's pretty pigmented). I usually dot it on the back of my hand so I don't have to be as careful with the amount. It's a beautiful shade for fall/winter. I have decided that I am done trying new mascaras because I will forever use Elf Lash XTNDR. I currently have the brown shade, but have also used the soft black shade and honestly do not notice much difference in how they look on my lashes. $7 tubing mascara for the win!
I am excited to see that I can purchase the Alter Ego concealer brush by itself, as I do not need the other brushes. I have been looking for a concealer brush with that kind of shape that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Hopefully they keep it around for a while, as I would rather purchase it with something else for shipping purposes, and I am on an eyeshadow no buy.
My favorite is the milani lip oils have strawberry one has nice rosy tint. Think they are dupes for haus labs or Dior but haven’t tried the other ones. It’s so comfortable and smells great. Usually I don’t like a lot of ones I tried but this one I’ll keep til I finish it-def will repurchase.
I apply my mattes with more of a patting motion with one brush and then blend with a windscreen wiper motion with the equivalent of a larger fluffy Sigma E40 blending brush - no circular motions. This is especially important for cream to powder shades. I’ve learnt a lot from Angela Bright’s tutorials on her ND palettes. She will use another shade to blend out that crease shade too.
I’ve heard that the mattes are way easier to use and blend if you use natural bristle brushes. That’s what I do and I don’t have any issues with blending even the deeper tones on my very light skintone🙋🏼♀️
Only a few minutes in but wanted to ask: where do you donate your extra brushes? I have older sets with excess brushes I don’t use but may be the only way I can purchase a particular brush I really like. I just have them sitting around in baggies but would love to get them to a good home rather than have them take up space or literally go to waste. Thank you.
Interesting that Alter ego duped the BK beauty brushes. I will wait and see how they hold up in the long term because that is what really makes a difference with brushes. Good quality brushes last years and don’t shed on your face after you wash them and that is what you are really paying for.
Happy to be wrong. I wanted to guess the better side for cheaper products, but I felt like I'd be more realistic. I think it is usually the shimmer is what sets high-end above cheaper products, not the blend of mattes, IMO.
I love ND mattes but I use a different technique when applying them. I see that you seem to blend with swirly motions as you apply which is why I think they get patchy. I’ve watched her tutorials and do what she does but of course it may just come down to us having very different eyelids in the end. I do crease and shimmer with eyeliner and mascara and the INAN is perfect for my undertone. The deeper matte gives greater depth for me than the dupe would. I think I would did the dupe too boring without the special ND formulas.
It’s a shame that Alter Ego just copies other palettes. Their formula seems great, and they’d do really well if they made their own unique palettes, especially with their cool packaging.
I love ND color stories but they are so patchy. I can only deal with her minis. The midis are so freaking patchy. I haven’t tried Alter Ego but I may need to look into them.
Please do an all cool toned look! I know you prefer warm, but I think you have a cool undertone and I think cool tones suit your undertone. I’d love to see it on you and see what you think!
I will have to do another cool toned look soon!
Oooh, yes please!
This look is leaning cool with the taupe eye shadow cool toned pink blush and cool toned lip
Haha Tala was like "what's this about kitten paws?!!!" 😂

As someone else with fine hair it's so hard to find clips that actually don't leave a mark so I totally feel your pain.
Obsessed with this background! It is so cute to casually see the cats on the tree and stuff :)

I’d love to try the alter ego palette especially since that ND palette is my all time favorite (I’ve even hit pan in a shade recently) 😊
I've been using setting spray instead of a glitter glue to keep my eyeshadow in place. But I have deep creases... So many great dupes!

I've honestly always thought the BK beauty brushes were overpriced for synthetic hair, so the dupe ones are very nice

My ELF xtndr mascara aged out (6 months) and I miss it so much! Will be repurchasing in a few months when my 2 open are done.
I did prefer the left side… appreciate the comparison
I think the elf oface lipsticks are meant to be dupes for the nars!
ohh yes you're right!!
Very helpful. Thanks!
Thank you for watching!

I have a problem with ND mattes as well… they always look patchy! I much prefer bh cosmetics (before they sold) or wet n wild formula for mattes
Yes!! I'm glad it's not just me, but it is really frustrating considering the price! :(

So crazy no doubt in elf o face looks sooo cool on me haha

I usually donate them to project beauty share!
I was thinking your left side looked like the higher end one but I was wrong!

I think the right side looks better, so I'd guess it is the high end side. That mainly has to do with the eye look though.

That ELF blush does look nicer. I'd rather work with it than the higher end blush.

Did you buy the BK beauty brushes yourself or were they gifted? Would you buy them with your Own money?
They were gifted but I'd buy them in a heartbeat if I lost them!
Agreed! Wait for a sale, which is rare, but they are the best!
