Came here to say this too!!! His shot variety and the way he employs his slice reminds me of Federer’s game. So impressed with his game despite being one of the youngest on tour, plays smart and has a beautiful game you’d expect from a vet.
@@consumer338I think he leans on his backhand slice a bit too much though his two handed is an obvious weakness he needs to improve, but such a great talent overall
Tien is so impressive not just because of his poise and the beauty of his play, but because he really beat Daniil at his own game. I'm a big fan of Medvedev, and it's always interesting to see the ways other players negotiate "The Octopus," but Tien really engaged him straight on and did an incredible job. Really excited to see the places Learner will go in the coming years! Huge congratulations to him, and to both for a truly great match.
It seems 5 minutes per set would be reasonable. Or even 3. 9 minutes for the 3 setter up to 15 for the 5 setter. The way it is now one gets an idea of what happened in three setters, but for 5 setters it's really a blur.
What the hell?! I was impressed when Tien almost took it in straight sets, but to keep fighting into a 5th set tiebreak, to go for that drop shot on match point, and then keep grinding until winning 10-8 after losing 8-10 in the third. Thats another level of grit, and he basically beat Medvedev at his own game.

@seadkapic4768 they are still young and will gain more experience. Plus all three were playing non stop atp finals then challengers while the more experienced players were well rested.
