You tend to see teams do one of two drafting techniques: Pick 2 support + 1 core in the first three, which opens you up to getting the cores you wanted banned. or you pick up the hard carry you want in the first three, which opens you up to counterpicking and getting supports banned.
yeah i understand your point, pl is a very strong hero, since hes good late gamer and an excelent pusher, but that by no means makes him broken, there are ways to deal with him, albeit risky ones :)
Oh I remember that time when only PL illus were in our spring and got a rampage all alone. We just couldn't kill them because of their heart of terasque. Even the spring couldn't kill them off.

Actually I find both teams are usually well farmed in late game in competitive games, because pro players are typically good at making the most out of the available farm. That said, when a PL game goes late, that PL is probably more farmed than the entire enemy team, even if that enemy team is farmed, and it would take the entire enemy team to bring down the PL every fight.

Nope,in pub games,the game goes on for 30-60 minutes,and by the end,almost all heroes are equally farmed(or have equal amount of time to farm,since some people can't make use of it)because of no particular teamwork or roles.(To an extent,that is). PL was originally nerfed because he was too strong, the recent buff just made him back to OP status again. No amount of aoe will take down cancer lancer when your illusions have 3k hp each, 8 of them burning your fucking mana away. The only thing that comes close to doing so is gyrocopter and even then, his flak cannon only lasts for 6 shots.
Naix is easy to counter, Bat, Bane and Beastmaster all destroy him with their ults reliably, he's also much easier to shut down and doesn't have the carry potential of PL.
I don't see Ezalor being OP tbh, he's just an overall strong hero and many games, he doesn't work out well. Nyx, most people agree, if they just reduce the time that spiked carapace lasts on nyx by about 1 second and put the mana burn to x4 multiplier, he's fine. Batrider, I feel isn't too broken, he's like many other snowball heroes, but if you just reduce napalm cd at lower levels, it should be no problem.
Wow some people make me laugh, pl isnt a broken hero there are many carries that can take him out late game ( sven, spectre, void, OD, and maybe kunka or magnus, to name a few) and I think if havost bought a bfury or mjolnir he wouldve had a good chance
Gyro can easily win against a PL late game. in fact gyro can wipe a full team in a few seconds. I cant remember which game, but in The defense 3 there was an epic game where the team was down 2 rax, with a super fat PL( manta heart diff and whatnot) pushing in. Gyro managed to turn the game around by purchasing a rapier and wiping the entire opposing team. I do agree that PL is overpowered, if a hero only has a single counter it usually is. But saying it has NO counters would be untrue.

End game no hero can stand against pl and thats the problem, tiny may be able to but he needs 6 stack items and a wisp. By that time pl will have had his 6 items up for about 15 min or so and has pushed you to death with just his illusions. Watch the eg vs netolic, eg has a strong team feed and pl carries 1v5.
there are counters for PL. gyro is great againts PL and can actually outcarry pl. carry Tiny is also decent vs pl in the late game. Just because you cant counterpick for shit dosnt mean a hero is overpowered.
