That’s easy. Andrew Ettingshausen. People genuinely forget how great he was. He was simultaneously top 5 fullbacks top 5 winger and top 5 centre in the game for nearly a decade. Hell in 1992 he went within a couple of votes to being the fullback a centre and a winger in the international team of the year. From memory the results was 1. Ettingshausen 2. Offiah 3. Fittler 4. Meninga 5. Carne. ET was the best outside back I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen better fullbacks. Better centres and better wingers. But none of them were as great across all those positions as ET. Also I’m a broncos and Queensland fan so this isn’t club bias.

Still remember working at West Leagues in Newy and a certain Knights player who was barred from going there due to intoxication and bad behaviour. Knights management would be called to come pick their boy up. He was very well protected by the town fortunately. 😂
Joey allegedly being on performance dehancing drugs yet was still so much better than anyone else. It would of been amazing to see him player if he wasn't on the alleged drugs.

He had 2 incredible years and the entire rest of his career was a complete waste of potential where every one of his team mates says it was virtually impossible to get him interested. He was immensely talented but it takes a lot more than 2 years to be a greatest at anything.
Best player to never win a GF is Nate Myles was technically a part of Storm in 2017 however he didn’t actually win the comp with them as he didn’t even play a finals match with them
I used to drink with Graeme Langlands in the early 2000s and he said Sludge was the best centre since Gasnier. Meninga was a political appointment for immortal imho. Not even the best Canberra player; essentially a mobile prop playing out wide. If he was Steve Ella's size, he would've been average. Sterlo said in Ella didn't do his knee early on, he would've been better than him and Kenny. Mark, Gary and Glen Ella all said Steve was better than them, too.
