    The thing about Lockyer is he was an all-time great at both FB and 5/8. I have him as 2nd best 5/8 after Wally. And no I'm not a Qldr, I'm a Blue, but credit where it's due

      Wasn't old enough to watch the game back in the 80s. But i've heard many say Kenny outplayed Wally everytime they faced off in club footy.

      Compare their statistics, no comparison
      Lewis did well at origin but that was a couple of games a year. Nothing at club level, sacked by the Broncos after 2 seasons,
      Lewis was a very good player but he was promoted as the best ever, the heart of QLD, the "King "
      Even Lewis will admit he was embarrassed by the plaudits and awards he received.

      @@raynaldo4644 yeah Kenny was so good against Wally Lewis when they chose the Australian team Kenny wore the 6 instead of Wally just 3 times. Compared to Wally Lewis’s 28.

    Whats crazy is that there is atleast 1 or 2 people in every on of these top 5s from the one queensland team. No wonder they won 8 straight they have the greatest players in there positions playing for them

    If we put Wally first, as most will, then you have to include Terry Lamb in there somewhere. He was as good as the other four. You can't have a top 5 without it being 6 players. Baa, Cliffy, Freddie, Bert and Laurie were superb, but not better. All of them were able to do the same things, and each one of them could do things the others couldn't. It's a top 6 or equal Top 5.

      Terry Lamb did not cotrol the team in attack and defence, Lyons did, he was a freak
      Lamb was the best support player ever, he also played his best as a half back

      Did u see the 95' season how they won the premiership defeating Canberra,Brisbane in the quarter & semi then Manly in the Grandfinal,Terry Lamb control the team through his experience & brilliance for them to win

      @@raynaldo4644 Numerous players can control a game, which is good if you have a good team around you. Lamb could control a game &/or win it off his own back. Hence his 164 tries. He also won the Daly M player of the year playing for a club that won the Wooden Spoon. Lyons did not have the level of talent to do that. Actually no one else has either.

    I personally think Lockyer would have been the best if they all played against each other, Johns at 7. Im a staunch Blues supporter but when Qld were really good, he was the player that I really didn't want us playing against.

      How many Dally Ms did Brett Kenny win? I think Baa's resume was a little more consistent.
      Terry Lamb finished in the top 3 of the Dally M medal on 5 occasions, Players, Player of the year on 3 occassions & Dally M Five-Eighth of the Year Award on 7 occassions.
      I thought Terry Lamb's resume was a bit more consistent.
      1983 Dally M Player of the Year (1st Runner Up in 1984, 1987, 1992. 2nd Runner Up in 1986)

      Three times winner of the Dally M Players Player of the Year (1984, 1986, 1995)
