If buying isn’t owning, piracy isn’t stealing.
Not reading terms and conditions and agreeing with them and then complaining 10 years after game release that servers are going down. Game wasn’t designed to be offline meaning that to make the patch possible would outweigh in terms of cost the simple procedure of killing the game. Plus there is no case to be made because term and conditions specify this. We should try to make changes happen in gaming industry coming forward but everything that was killed already is done for legally.

Regardless, EULAs arent legally binding anywhere anyway. EULAs dont protect companies from fundamentally violating consumer rights laws.

As the game was 60 dollars on release, and to add to that the game is 10 years old and other people have probably played it for hundreds of hours and all of their progress is just gone.

As a huge game collector (of many game formats) I have sadly removed all Ubisoft games now from my shelfs, since I apparently don't own them even if I have it as a physical media when I originally bought them all. Wasted money sadly and a business model I will never support, regardless game title and what they will bring in the future.

Impressively, "being a ubisoft fan" has replaced my number one for "red flags", just barely beating out being a gacha game fan.
To be fair, you can be a gacha game fan without actually playing the gacha games. A lot of gacha games actually have deep lore and amazing characters, but sadly, they are gacha games and you just wish those gacha games were triple A titles with no microtransactions, gacha system, nor battle passes instead. It really is disappointing that they are gacha games.

The lack of awareness from Ubisoft is laughable, I wasn't even interested in the Crew 1 in the first place but the mere thought of me let alone someone else buying it and having them not only prevent me from playing it but also refusing to give me a refund makes my blood boil. If they don't have a problem restricting people from playing games, they paid for then Ubisoft shouldn't mind when everyone decides to pirate their games instead.

The Utopia and the Zenvo TSR-S already appeared in mobile games first.

The move isn’t backwards compatibility, but emulation and game dumping. You are stopping piracy.
Every that has ever been a fan of your work throughout every generation of gaming, people need to know trade their games from hand to hand and dump their games together to make gaming universal.
Ubisoft, you are taking all that you have learned about your gamings and bringing it into television and music and even Unreal Engine and not just working with proprietary engines to keep your IP known.
