  • Is Australian Floetrol REALLY necessary to get amazing lacing in bloom pours? Let’s find out!
Two weeks ago I did a massive showdown of 3 of the most common alternative cell activators that do NOT require Australian floetrol. The clear winner was Amsterdam paint and water, and you can see the whole video here! • The ULTIMATE Inexpensi...
Today, I’m using the same paints and mixtures, but testing out the “real” cell activator (3 parts Aussie floetrol to 1 part Amsterdam Titanium White) against the best “alternative” cell activator.

My paints for the bloom recipe were mixed with a 2:1 mixture of untinted semigloss house paint and polycrylic, until they reached the right consistency.
My other paints were mixed with US floetrol (about 2:1 floetrol to paint) and thinned water to a thick-but-flowing consistency. Paint-mixing video is here! • Mixing Paint for Acryl...

Definitely the thickness makes a difference. I watched a scientific review of techniques for cell creativity, and in the end, viscocity was the key. Love your videos.

Some you tube artists say not to torch house paint. They use skewers to pop bubbles.

Honestly….I like the shapes of the cells with Amsterdam paint.& water. They appear more organic/ stone-like. But I love watching the experiments !! 😊

I have always seen/heard, we do NOT torch blooms due to the toxicity of heat on housepaint and it creates a skin. We torch all other types but not blooms

I am an older lady from Poland and I found a new hobby. Painting. I'm currently using a translator because unfortunately I can't understand everything, but there is no translation in Polish.I would love to use this knowledge, but I have trouble understanding it. If the text was in Polish, it would be easier for me I use a microphone with a translator but he keeps interrupting or doesn't want to translate. He just doesn't like it when there is a break between words 😜 in Poland, many people are interested in pouring painting, so such a translation would be very helpful, if I may ask.😂

I've never used Aussie floetrol but I've used 5 different colors in the Amsterdam paint w water only and it seems to work just as well in the more dense Amsterdam colors, Lamp Black and Titanium White you know already but I've used Light Rose, Naples Yellow and peach color I don't remember the name to lol they all worked just as Great ! So you have a lot of alternative options w Amsterdam and water for sure!!! But I do believe you are where I got the idea to being w with your first video so thank you for your awesome test and Sharing!!!!
