I've been watching her for almost 6-7years or more. She goes undercover on youtube. She said she goes undercover. I'm telling you this THERE HAS BEEN A SHIFT IN BEAUTY PERSPECTIVES. I guarantee you that she has watched these natural hair confidence channels. If you look at her newer videos like within the last two or three months, she is wearing her own natural hair. She suffers from hair dysmorphia herself. If you look at her older videos, you can see that Shera was made fun of for being chubby and having poofy hair that was made fun of. She actually thinks that dreadlocks are very very beautiful, BUT SHE SAYS TO COVER UP DREADS WITH A WIG. SHE SAYS THE MAIN GOAL IS TO GET THE BAG. Then once you are married and a little bit more comfortable in your marriage, THEN your Bohemian side can come out.

Tbh Shera’s mindset can be outdated sometimes. I wear my twa everyday, I dyed it golden chocolate 🍫 brown for the fall. I get the attention of all kinds of WM, even AM and middle eastern guys. Black men are nice for the most part or they straight up ignore me since they can tell I don’t prioritize their attention/I’m not trying to attract them only. My husband is a BM and he loves my natural hair. Before my husband I dated non-BM and they loved my natural hair. A big part of that is I’d never entertain a man that didn’t love my natural hair no matter what he had to offer. That said, straight hair is the norm in non-black spaces even with BW. Even in black celebrity spaces it’s the norm. Simone Biles and other BW wear their hair straight for meets and rock braids or other styles off the mat. I’ve never seen Candace Owens with anything but straight hair at interviews. As you said, it’s so nuanced because texturism or superiority of straight hair over curly can tie in with racism and white supremacy since straight hair is generally associated with European or YT people. I’m a black women that lives in Washington Heights NYC and Dominican women are rocking the curly coily afro hair! I even saw a hair salon sign stating that they service “Afros”! 🤣 Natural hair movement is on a major rise! It’s even accepted in luxury retail ads; there are lots of black & ambiguous women with coily fros! Interestingly, coily hair is so powerful it filters out men who aren’t serious. Weak men listen to what society & media tells them to like but secure men think for themselves and pick what they want. Most rich men choose women with straight hair because of societal standards; they want to fit in so it’s a business move for them choosing the European beauty since we live in a racist world.

One more thing I have to say. Shera7s DAUGHTERS DO NOT WEAR THEIR NATURAL HAIR. I AM NOT TRYING TO BE FUNNY, BUT IT'S OBVIOUS THAT YOU DON'T WATCH HER SHOW. IT'S OBVIOUS THAT YOU ONLY STARTED WATCHING HER SINCE SHE GOT TIK TOK FAME IN THE LAST YEAR OR TWO. AND THAT'S COOL!
BUT ANYONE THAT KNOWS THE REAL DEAL ABOUT THIS WOMAN, KNOWS THAT HER DAUGHTERS DO NOT WEAR NATURAL HAIR. SHE DOES NOT LET HER DAUGHTERS WEAR BRAIDS OR ANY KIND OF ETHNIC STYLES. 1 time some girls at school were making fun of her daughter. And she made a whole lot of video of taking her daughter to go get a sew in. She does not allow her daughters to wear natural hair AT ALL.
    She doesn't believe in it.
And anyone that watches Shera7 as an OG viewer, knows exactly what I'm talking about. Some of the pictures that you have, may appear like that is natural hair on her little girl's heads. But if you further inspect those pictures, you will see that those are weaves.
Also, as far as her husband being dark-skinned. This is also one of her core beliefs. She believes that light skin women should pursue dark skin men, because they are more likely to fawn over them and coddle them. She also advises dark skin women to date light skin men or men of other races. This is all part of the Shera 7 philosophy. She feels that women should go to the type of men that will celebrate them the most, to get the ultimate bag.

She never stopped wearing wigs because she was rebellious 😭 but when they divorced the woman he married after was all natural. She taught me that men actually love when a women wears her natural hair because they like to put their fingers through it and touch it. In my experience nothing my grandmother said was a lie because every guy I’ve dated would love when I wear my natural hair because they didn’t have to walk on eggshells if they accidentally pulled on it. Men love your real hair!! Shera is addressing how to get a rich man , the top %1 of men who usually have egos and are superficial . The top %1 of men try to fit in & have as much proximity to whiteness as possible so ofc they are going to want you to wear a straight wig/weave but all other men do not hate natural hair 😭

It's lovely to see a lot of women in the comments disagree from experience (and those who don't care what men want!). BUT the experience of MANY black girls and black women HAS been very negative regarding how boys and men treat us when we do not wear our hair straight. Two things can be true at the same time.
Perhaps Shera's comment is dated NOW, but it didn't come from nowehere. We all know black men specifically as a group prefer pale people with "black" features like black women hairstyles than they like those hairstyles on us.

People need to remember that the type of men that shera attracts are BM, considering that she is a mixed woman. So she isn’t wrong if she says that they don’t like natural hair which we know that they don’t (unless it’s type 3a/b hair). It’s the same reason why she could attract them as an overweight woman. If you keep that in mind, you won’t think twice about certain things that she says. For the women who are looking to attract other types of men, wearing natural hair or natural looking hair and being slim is best.

I was 18 when I started wearing my natural hair. I’m 33 now. This was back in 2009 and honestly I remember women wanting to wear their natural hair and they were on Lipstick alley confessing that their husbands hated the idea and some even declared their marriage declined. I was ridiculed by my own family and my own father called my hair a bush. I didn’t GAF 😂.
In my personal experience, it’s actually low caliber Bm who tend to gravitate towards my natural hair or hotep men. I think to them it symbolizes low maintenance and lack of care or even resistance. These stereotypes are associated with struggle. Also, white men. Not the seasoned white men lol. I mean just an average every day white man or even the ones who may be of a higher social economic status. I think they are attracted to natural hair because it is not what they’re used to. I find that BM do not like natural hair unless it is lose texture curls. It’s because their mothers teach them negative connotation about our hair. I’ve heard it spoken to the men in my family.
So, Shera is not wrong. They don’t actually like our natural hair. They like the idea of it ONLY if it emulates traces of ambiguity.
This is why black women need to love themselves unapologetically. Without the concerns of men. We are the teacher! This is how they have learned self hate. Black women need to free themselves from the shackles of others expectations. I’ve worn my fro out for the last 3 days I’ve gotten compliments all day. Our hair is magic. We need to embrace it and as we do, the world will adjust 💜✨

My husband said something similar to this about type 4 hair - I made a comment that BM don't like it and he retorted that it's because BW, when they were growing up, didn't like it either. BW and girls would complain about their hair and wouldn't take care of it, resulting in their hair looking a mess. BM started associating struggle and unkemptness with type 4 hair as a result.
With the new wave of girlies embracing their type 4 hair, we can definitely retrain our community on how to embrace our natural beauty.

    • @Lastdayone

@@SunseedStarchild agreed! We also can redefine what unkept is as well. A lot of those little girls only regurgitate what they’ve heard. Their mamas likely lacked patience and poured their frustrations and hatred onto them. We are the teachers.
I choose to embrace myself and my hair. It trains those around us. When they make fun, we simply can fire back with a truth. My great aunt would say “ I wouldn’t go out like that” I’d simply reply: “ of course not. This requires a deeply profound love for oneself”. It leaves them to sort out their own internal issues 💜✨

From my understanding, it really has everything to do with the length, and the believability of your hair. your hair should be long, but it should also match your features, and what I mean by this is that if you have coily hair, your best option is to do longer braids, or a braid out on the end, that’s what I have right now. Or
More natural, looking, straightened hair, or hair that actually looks like it would grow out of your head 🙏🏾
I have done both of these, and it worked miracles, I’ve dated some very wealthy men, and get approached much more often. But I also have to say, that I leveled up in other ways, including fashion, which included understanding how to wear clothes that fit my body type better, as well as a more elegant style. One thing I do love about Shera is that she talks about focusing on the type of man that you want., And the life that you do want. This will make a difference in the type of man, or target as she says, that you should focus on, because if you want a certain lifestyle, that’s the look that you will need to create to attract the person, you want to be with.

I had to transition because I got extensions for my birthday ( haven’t had one in 7 years ) and that €vil stylist braided my hair too tight. When I removed the extensions ; I had traction alopecia. I can’t put a chemical in my hair for 6 months. I recently cut the relaxer out my hair. My fiancé saw my hair and didn’t make a big deal about it. He was unbothered. I hate this because i know her intention isn't to attack and offend. But it impacts in that way anyway😞. I don't know what i can say that would mend this. This sux. it's true what she said but it's still wrong to say some things aloud so frankly sometimes. Of course this doesn't mean all men, but still it rings truthful. she is just saying assimilation is still very much alive. She wants us to win but she needs to be more sensitive about the frank delivery. it's still unfair and to state it so matter of fact.... yea hopefully she can tighten that all up.
Shera 7 really is a great channel. Listening to her is like a mini pep talk i feel it comes from a healthy place the way she reaches out to women. She has stated that she does put this message out to the world in hope that her daughters will have a nice world and dating scene to enter into. imo she very much has her children in mind she does realize her daughters are black natural girls as we all are. Anyway i love this channel and i love her even tho i barley watch her these days. but i got her message years ago. she brought a lot of comfort to me and i have a head of 4a and 4b coils. i know what she has always meant she is saying this is what can be done to heighten our chances and she is correct and it sux but she still has to tell us the best moves.... I think it is tricky space to be in trying to gently tell us what she thinks we as black women CAN DO to highten our chances in appealing to a wider range of high earning men. Its a balance between telling us uncomfortable truths and being aware that its not fair but it is in fact her truthful experience. Does se tell us or keep it to herself at risk of offending? I know she isnt intending to offend. i find her to be very gentle with black women and our sensitivities.. and therefore i choose to see her for her intention this time. not the impact. I extend her grace as a channel that i am familiar with and knows that her truth isnt to harm us. its just suggestions for tools we can use. Our hair is an accessory ladies. we can use it. this was all she is trying to say i really believe that, she wasnt saying our hair sucks

Lets be real.... if all of us started wearing our natural hair, it would become a thing of the past! Ive had hair all my life but now with the wigs, bbls, etc... i get a lot of attention because it is not seen as the normal! I promise once we all wear natural hair, there will be something else that will become the new thing to talk about

Thanks for commenting but how can the hair that comes out of our head be considered a trend when it’s naturally that way compared to wigs and bbls that are not natural? And even if we all wore our natural hair it still would be unique because our hair is unique ,similar to fingerprints 🤎🤎🤎

All am reading is "my husband/boyfriend is black and likes my natural hair" or "my husband is non black and likes my natural hair", but does he have money? Is he wealthy? Does he have investments and shares offshore? Does he have property? If not then Sheera is not talking about him, Sheera is talking about what appeals to men with money, generational wealth l, offshore accounts, private jets, summer houses in different countries. And men like that like their women to look a certain way, Sheera's channel is intended for ladies who want to secure the bag, take her advice or leave it.

Not a fan of her videos however I’ve noticed that natural hair has taken a backseat due to the influence of wigs.
Most of the RUclips videos are about laying your edges and applying wigs. Women are approached more if they have a wig or their natural hair is down their back

The thing about natural hair is it will attract both extremes; the mega dusty and the ultra upper class. You have to put yourself in the right environment. With that being said, it’s much easier to wear the wig and slowly reveal your natural self.

    • @CoffeeCuties777

@@CoffeeCuties777 it’s easier than putting yourself in front of the ultra upper class. Most women wont be able to pull that off, even if they’re in the proper setting. There are men who like natural, but they are few and far in-between. Of course Shera is with a Black man who chose an ambiguous, light skin woman, duh! She also says go where you're most appreciated.
