I love showing it as you move along with it. Keep working on it and it will keep getting better. I'm a fan of loose water coloring and using urban sketching as a basis for how I made some of my art (cuz I'm an amateur). One of the videos I typically watch often says "It's ugly at this point, but keep working on it a bit and it'll all come together." I have found that it usually does! Keep up the great work.
Great tips and love that last map book. I never thought about map borders, so simple but really make the map pop - so already I've learnt something! :)

I played with the SAME BOOK waaaay back in Elementary school. Artists still use the basics of shape and line, and flesh out from there. Good for you to just go for it, acknowledge that it might not be awesome, but showing it anyway.
Great topic, great resources, and great drawings! I think anyone can draw, and everyone should draw. It's a magical power we all have--to turn blank pages into worlds. Any skill level will produce great work if a drawing is: internally consistent, confident, intentional, and from the heart. That's why the Emberley method is so effective--it's extremely simple and easy to learn, but very internally consistent, intentional, and confident in its crudeness. He breathes so much life into a stick figure universe. Your drawings feel very from the heart. Keep doing what you do!
MAPS - my favorite things & you make some groovy ones that are useful and to the point! Make a World - I knew it was one of the books you were gonna recommend based on images. Inspiration galore and tons of fun! JP Coovert is groovy - really puts Emberley's examples in to practice. I did his dragon on a map for daughter and son-in-law engagement party, they loved it [it's hanging in their front room now and it is NOT fancy in the least, but they love RPG so it pleased them]. I really enjoy your maps!! Your evolving style is Fun and gets the important points ON the map so you can Adventure, and to me, that's what matters.
My wife, who is an illustrator and graphic designer owns two of the Jared Blando books, and also highly recommends them, and there is also a Fantasy City drawing book by the same author!

I am interested in drawing dungeons in 3d and figures holding armor or weapons. Do any of these books illustrate how to do this? And 3d interiors of buildings?

You can do it! Books can definitely help, as well as practice.
My drawings all end up looking like Salvador Dali offerings…the ones he threw away !

Those famous characters are kind of hard to draw, because they are made of very simple shapes drawn fairly precisely.

No these books don’t have that kind of perspective.
