    I just got done with Step 1 and I also study in Belgaum but from BIMS. I would be very happy if you could detail about finding Electives/ Remote research spots, etc. Tnx !

    Hi Sahana , I am Dr Akshada , I am aiming for USMLE and I’m starting out extremely late , I graduated 5 years ago… but thankyou for your clarity and information.
    I have a doubt- when do u apply for ecfmg certification, where do u get those info and make sure u have it done 2 months prior like you said ? Can it be done before step one or only after ?
    And another doubt- I have to start prep for step 1 , do I get the letter of good standing from my university now itself ?

    2 is the salary in residency is enough for a couple ?

      Salary is different for different states
      Average is around 50k for first year and 5k increase every year.
      Is it enough? If you live scrupulously yes it is

    A genuine question. When I told my friend about your journey, his first reaction was "she must be having some connections." I guess I would like to disagree with this, but could you please really shead light on this myth that imgs cannot get into an ivy league college without connections

    Have you gone US after your PG or MBBS from India ?
    Why you have gone after PG ? As MBBS is sufficient ..
    Is there any advantage after pg ?

      Can we get surgical residency with 250 score ..
      How many min reaserch publication reqd , How many months US clinical ship , observership , reaserch intership on US is required.
      I came to know.. generally after Indian PG ( MS ) only , they get US surgical residency..not from after mbbs ...

    How many questions per day of UWorld should we do for our dedicated period for Step 1? I’m struggling here and I have my Step 1 in a month and a half. I feel overwhelmed thinking about the number of questions there are in UWorld. :(
