@1:00 His mind connecting to Blair Underwood in a way that inspired him to become a lawyer is exactly why representation matters and how life can imitate/inspire art and vice versa. This is why funding these films that display Black people in unique situations playing different types of characters is important. His films will inspire the next generation to think bigger.
“Unique situations”?? Love what your message but, bruh Black Lawyers are winning out here.. There are 1.3 Million Black lawyers mama!! I feel as if, just portraying Black people across the spectrum, is best.. I’m literally Married to a Black attorney by the way..😂😂🤦🏽♂️ .. I go with her to her association meetings and see thousands of US their… mind you that’s just in my city!! JUST SHOW REAL BLACK IMAGES!! We are not gangsters and ghetto… it’s just wild..😂😂
@@moneymakingsim4314 he wasn't talking about Black lawyers when he said unique situations, he was talking about movies like They Cloned Tyrone. That movie is sci-fi and I agree with you, we need better films with images outside of being gangster/ghetto.
Charles is a wonderful man and happens to be my Cousin which I'm so proud of! He's doing so much to help our community! "Fences" Wow what a film! And I love what he said about change needed in the industry!
Man I just started working at Vanderbilt (in the Athletics department). First day was good, but had mie missing my old team from last job. Little subtle ties from people like Charles, giving me more encouragement about making this move for my career. Good brother, good interview.
I agree with you to an extent. While Angela Yee annoyed me 70% of the time, the one thing that she did that I appreciated was that she did her homework regarding guest. If they had a book she read it, she knew the updated versions of their lives, she was always politically correct. You can tell that the men half ass most of these interviews.
@@atiproduces you lack specifically who your referring to. I can only assume the haitian revolution is for the benefit to haitian Americans even though y'all haven't revolutionized a darn thing in America.
@@jennaywilliams1024 We can go tick for tack , back and forth. Salute Charles! This guys is the truth. I've had the privilege to pitch a project and work with him on Judas and the Black Messiah. You need to record any conversation Charles has ever had about the new black film industry. MACRO is the bench mark.
First time hearing and knowing this brother. Incredibly inspired by his spirit! The perspective he shared of the “Oscars”, and what is rewarding to him. Such a humble soul and visionary. I’m an absolute fan.
Thank you so much for this interview 🙏🏿 With interviews like this, you'll build a ton of business women & men, that not only benefits themselves, our community. Blessings 🙏🏿
I cannot wait to have enough support to say ....this resource is for BLACK PEOPLE. I pray to have the ability to offer my service or create the avenue FOR BLACK PEOPLE'S EMPOWERMENT....only.
Loving this interview so far...DJ Envy asking if youre only going to do black production sounds gaslightish. Only because these other companies produce all movies, the money and full vision doesnt reach the talent as he said, deal structure. Raising capitol sounds like an uphill battle without the right circle of care in the beginning.
the camera movement is so amateurish, so low. even the sound of Tyler is done bad. The interview questions are trash. AHHH. Could be done at a much higher level.
This man has literally funded every black awards contender movie in the past 5 yrs 😱 Talk about gifted!
For real, For Real!!!👊✊

I love that they are showcasing these "hidden figures" in culture. Charles is a titan shattering ceilings and uplifting culture
I love BC has expanded their interviews. I like when they have guest hosts but I don't think they need a third person.

They need a third person for the rumors.

Awesome interview !! I would love to see more films like "Love Jones" and "Brown Sugar"..."Claudine" even ❤
Great interview! More smart interviews please!
Thank goodness for this man. I thought it was only Tyler Perry. He needs more spotlight! His studio produces better projects than Perry.
It seems like they are affiliates and they are an alternative to Tyler perry productions.

Cloned is the young Undercover Brother on steroids
@udokee7409 cloned was great but had multiple similar movie characteristics in it from or like undercover brother
I don't hear no Decatur in him

Does he have an appetite to work with a South African animation studio owned by 2 black ladies?
Doesn't this interview cross picket lines.
How? He is neither working as an actor or writer during this interview. Or in general. His position is that of a movie producer and studio head.
Good interview but not a fan of they cloned Tyrone
Too old for a swivel chair
Great interview !!!
