I don't know why, but I could watch B-52's all day. There's just something so majestic and bad ass about them, plus the fact they've lasted so long. When I was a kid I got that Monogram 1/72 model kit of the B-52, and have been in love ever since.
Agreed. I think what makes them most majestic is the fact that something that big and heavy should not be flying at 40000+ feet. Just crazy
Watching this video, all I could think was, “man, that’s a clean BUFF!” A lot of troops put a lot work into that, and they should be proud.
My father flew these after B36s were pulled. At one base, they deployed parachutes from the back on landing to slow them down on shorter runways. When either plane took off the noise was deafening and the ground shook.
The B-52 sure has a unique landing gear configuration: four nose gear, and four main gear, plus one wheel at the end of each wing.
Its similar to the harrier jump jet
@@luckycorn8590 Yes, just a lot larger!
@@ChrisZoomER damn didn't expect a reply on a 3 year old comment lol
@@ChrisZoomER i believe the attack angle at which they take off and land is also influenced by that configuration
Twice as loud and as smoky as a 707! So much love.
I had the pleasure of providing Security for the Buff`s while stationed at March AFB Riverside CA and on a couple of TDY Tours to Ellsworth AFB Rapid City SD...Watching these Bad Boys along with the KC-135s FULLY Loaded was a Site to see...That was 50yrs ago and they are Still in Service to this day...
Still my all time favorite aircraft. Remind me of me, "BUFF" although she is beautiful to me. The military sure got it's money's worth out of her with many more years to come. Thanks for posting and God Bless.

smooth takeoff's and landings. Bloody awesome
Nice video of the B52 bomber that I’ve seen in a while. Pretty amazing that these planes are still in service. They date back to the Vietnam War and even further.
You know B-52 crews are always happy. They are always whistling 👌
Landing gear is unique...
Imroz Benipal do u know what it sounds like THE C5
Honestly gotta have the goofiest looking gear I've seen
As per usual when your wings have landing gear.
I'm building a custom mini model B52 and I have had trouble due to its landing gear I have absolutely lack of knowledge in how it operates so I can put that to my model 🥺😂
The gear is able to turn 20 degrees meaning it can land in cross winds. It also, is so complex. Like so many drugs complex.
I love the smell of jet exhaust in the morning. Smells like freedom.
I loved watching these old birds take off and land at Carlswell AFB Ft.Worth TX.
Just one beautiful and deadly airplane.
when I was stationed at Kadena AFB, Okinawa (they came from Guam when a typhoon was going to hit that island)in the mid 80s I can remember one landing on the airfield, it floated down like a feather. Sent chills down my spine.
Older than time itself.
@@redwatch1100 and just as timeless in her beauty
Out of all bombers, this one is the most badass looking
next to the Vulcan , these aircraft were brilliant pieces of engineering..
Awesome looking 50plus yrs old B52s... like brand new off the production line.
I love the sound of those eight engines.
Screaming eagles.
What a beast!!!!!
Amazing aircraft still after all these decades :)
23rd Bomb Squadron all the way! I was at Nellis a month ago. The BUFF sure is an awesome aircraft.
It always amazes me to see the B-52 trakeoff. It looks like all wheels lift off at the same time.
Is that last buff carrying a pair of AIM-9?!?!
Nice video, thanks for posting!
You couldn't even get the wheels touching down once?
Anybody want to put a bet on that the buff will Outlast the Raider???
As a child I lived a half a mile from a SAC base ,every night those Aluminum guardian Angels sang me to sleep with their Sweet voices and the Air raid Sirens sounded everyday at high noon , Dear God hiw i miss the Cold War days !!!!!
Beautiful!
Beautiful A/C but hot as hell working in the aft section.
The B52 bomber what a striking airplane awesome
smokes more than an mig 29 squadron flying in formation
AWESOME CLOSEUP especially under the wings! because i actually did notice those small little wheels at the wing ends and i thought that i was just imagining them....... so, i decided to look this up and found this video on your channel...... thank you for for this video because i really learnt something new today............
When the aircraft wing fuel tanks are full (at takeoff) the wings drop down so far they need those wing struts for support.
That big guy has a landing gear even on the tip of his wings!
When the wing tanks are full these are needed.
stunning, what camera do you have here?
why don't you complete the camera pans and stop mid-pan?
É de arrepiar. Ainda é o mair poderoso bombardeiro do mundo.
Great video!
Amazing!
GOD bless you AMERICAN AIR FORCE
Magnificent video of these beasts! They are creatures of contrasts: the albatross-like ungainliness of those huge wings, so graceful and majestic in the air! Also, their aspect would be terrifying if you were on the receiving end, especially coming toward you, yet on the ground there's something oddly innocent about their noses and the look of their windows! 😄😄
Its aura is unstoppable.
b52 사랑합니다 자유의 수호자
That thumbnail honestly looked like something straight out of Infinite Flight
These lucky guys get to play with some VERY big toys!
What an awesome airplane.
never knew that a B-52 can roll coal
Maravilhosa maquina de guerra❤❤❤❤❤
Huge Bomber.
Nice Sound.
Howmuch the Price ?
C'est la puissance de la planète.Rien d'autre
A GREAT plane 👍
The first B52s were delivered to the USAF the year I was born, but I'll be retired before them.
Awesome
Awesome!!!!!!
1968 coming from R&R we stopped in Guam to refuel and we were told to go to the end of the runway a flight is taking off shortly.
We watched as the B52 was loaded with bombs in the bay plus under the wings I believe the held 113 bombs, as they were taking off they used every inch off the runway, the wings were like flapping from the weight of the bombs, and all of a sudden we heard a flap noise and it went airborne
We had arc lites almost every night on the DMZ but this was my first close up for me to see them. Each wing tip had wheels attached to compensate for the wing stress.
I wish I could tell how tall the training wheels are. Probably bigger than my truck tire. Awesome vulture!
looks weird having the ACMI pod on the left outer station. At first glance I thought it was a Sidewinder
Why do all older bombers ,be they ww2 lanc ,fortress mitchell ,mosquito or slightly later 50's gen vulcan, b52 sound so fine?
Does anyone know why the landing gear is positioned the way it is
also is 4 points of contact landing gear an advantage or just specific to the shape of the plane
stability and load -- it has an incredible max load
Paul G. position of landing gear is due to the shape of the aircraft and for weight distribution
wind
The Bomb bay is in the middle and its pretty long, which prevents the landing gear to be placed in the „usual“ center of gravity, but instead makes it necessary to be placed behind instead. The Plane does not „rotate“ on take off, instead the wings are shaped in a downward position and not straight like normal airliners. So basically the plane always stays in a straight position and never rotates on its axis. That makes securing the loaded bombs also easier and not really necessary. It just is a revolutionary plane with techniques that never got used again apparently!

cool I love it
This is awesome!
If Godzilla could be an airplane he'd be a B-52.
8 motors, is this for travelling americans?
I'm American and can confirm we use each other as bombs
what's the mpg on this thing?
01:26 B-52 GTD
I don't know how it is but every time I see a B52 I think of the end of the world!
You are right. It was developed to be exactly that.
Why do they use a parachute to stop the plane?
Rewind, rewind.
One of the top 5 highlights of my life would be to see one of these magnificent planes take off, fly and land!! Guess I'm weird for a older female, but so what.
I want that too. nothing weird about that

why not dihedral wing
is there any other plane that comes in belly flat to the ground?
The U2
Lethal condors.
Don't smoke, kids! LOL
That’s the biggest bomber in the Vietnam war. And it’s still used today kool
B-52 is a nice aircraft, should be used for something like training exercises. Cruise missile delivery platform for long-range attacks. Or maybe have them available for U.S.Air Force training. Thanks for the video. Peace be with you.
Christopher Tolhurst You obviously don't know much about military aviation or the B-52
Christopher Tolhurst that's an understatement calling the best bomber of all time nice
Did Red Flag one year late 80's watched one of the inside flaps fall off 0:17 mark Seattle bird.
Everything about that plane is so weird
GUAM?
R.I.P
This plane has beenabig deterren.
"Most awesome" and you didn't include a MITO from the 1960s?
AMERICA is always GREAT
What a peculiar aircraft
The ROugh airforce
zgrowing up during vietnam war and carpet bombing, the sight of its tiny silhouette overhead is disquieting. A bec of what it can do and B you live another day
@chhmar99utube: I agree. I grew up in the 60's right next to an Air Force base where these monsters were taking off right over our heads. My Dad later told me they were headed to Cambodia. Fully loaded. They fly very low, slow and LOUD. We could read the ID numbers on the bomb casings and they threw a tremendous shadow as they passed over.
Hello three yearsku munadi pota old news ?
Bharat sarkar ko bhi B52 lena chahiye.

No videos on internet of such a machine being shot down in Vietnam by a SAM? It must be great to see it going down.

Its not Awesome if you don't show the wheels touch down on landing... Sorry... but for me, that is ripoff. I was a security supervisor at a SAC base in 1969 and 70 and I miss seeing my babies touch down. Thanks anyway.. no hard feelings... ha ...
