I've had pretty heavy mack bites out of the Outer Banks. Catch rec limits in 5 minutes, imagine fishing all day for them.
That intro was fire. About 15 years back the mayor of my town needed someone to run his skiff. Got a call from my buddy. First day the mayor came to show us the boat, 7 thousand worth of king mackerel by 2 PM of Louisiana cost. O yeah great guy split equally 3 ways pretty cool mayor we have and he's still our mayor!

Nothing wrong with Ugly sticks man. As far as cheap, available rods go, hard to go wrong with an Ugly Stick. Especially if it's something you're going to beat up and not really care if you broke it because you didn't spend a lot on it.
Yeah my mom has an Ugly Stick for offshore fishing and that pole works amazing for how much it is
i’ve went inshore grouper fishing on an ugly stik and a 3k and had that rod bent over in a 180 and didn’t dtruggle

I know this old, I like the video but one issue bothers me. Lack of any ice or taking a long time to ice anything down. I've lived on the Gulf of Mexico and if you didn't put the fish into ice right away it went bad quickly. I don't know where you are at but as a commercial fisherman it seems to me that you'd be interested in delivering a fresh product to the market. Am I missing something?

Everything. We chum, and all keep throwing the spoons for a few minutes to see if they'll start biting, and once they do we don't stop throwing until the frenzy is over, otherwise they'll stop biting. You never know though, we could be marking the stink out of them but nothing gets them too bite, just depends how they're feeling

I’m in Montana now, but I’m originally from Pensacola. We’re kicking around the prospect moving to south Florida , and commercial fishing. Any advice? I’ve fished off shore for the majority of my life ( recreational). So a day or two off shore is nothing alien to me. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks guys !
