- Hey guys, today we went out commercial fishing and caught way more sheepshead than the last video. This was an experience I will most likely never have again, we caught a world record breaking 1000 pounds of sheepshead.... do I need to say more?

I dont think thats a good idea only because the internet isnt very nice sometimes and if you look video has 10% dislikes. Some people would end up calling n messing with their buyers and cash flow, isnt worth it.

Started fishing about a month ago and have been wanting to get a sheepshead big enough to take home. Haven't had that opportunity yet. I hear they are delicious.

Commercial fisherman aren't allowed to get records i thought can't in alabama. I've caught several record fish and they turned me away because of being a commercial fisherman I've also caught over 1000 lbs of sheephead in a day with 2 people im not trien to start sh##t i just want to know how you were allowed to qualify with commercial license

This type of commercial fishing isn't making the slightest difference to your ability to catch sheepshead. They fished one piece of structure. One. If you can't find one of the thousands and thousands just like then that's on you. Don't blame them for being terrible at fishing. Sheepshead are plentiful throughout Florida and many other states.

Beating up one structure is pretty horrible too. These kids will be making a youtube video in a couple decades about how the fisheries aren’t what they used to be. You can tell how little they respect things by how they throw around the fish and let them suffocate on the deck.

Sheepshead are fish that like structure due to the fact that they solely eat crustaceans, so anything like rocks, ridges, reef, ect will have them.

Quick question about yalls sheepshead fishing in southern Florida. So I live in Pensacola and up here when we fish for sheepshead, structure is the name of the game. We fish loading docks, private piers, bridges, and jetties and sometimes you’ll catch a few from the surf. My question is how does yalls fishing work in terms of where you fish? I’ve seen in your vid and in Joey antonellis vids that y’all just seem to be fishing maybe a mile or a few miles off the beach. Just got me wondering if the sheepshead behave differently down south compared to the ones up here in Pensacola.
This time of year they get on shallow reefs and wrecks to spawn.

Get some 1ft needlenose pliers and grab them by their pec fins, much easier than the nets.

I catch them commercial in st.petersburg my self along with a few other guys but unless you net them or count the ones you lose as well we rarely get more than a few hundred lbs. Only seen a half dozen times any thing over 500lbs of sheepshead.

hook and line commercial fishing is the only kind of fishing I can get behind. commercial net fishing kills way too many bycatch and is hurting our oceans. This kind of commercial fishing is alright in my book.

I get that’s how you folks make your living. Up there in Alaska way the fur hunters hunt an area one year then the following year they give that area a break. Then the next year they move to a different area. Maybe with all due respect you should consider trying that. You might wipe them out like that young man. Give em a break or you’ll have to go get another job before you even know it, plus I’d like to see you young dudes lol have em there for long after this old dude is gone.
