Great video very helpful thanks for your time x
90% of rads I’ve come across in my short 15 years of working on central heating systems don’t have any movement in the pipework so that wouldn’t work too well?
I will try this next time ,good video!
where can you get those "Rack lamps" from?
Thank you my friend, great advice and video
There’s me thinking Carl Pilkinton was just an unhelpful bloke. Cheers buddy
great idea handy for wallpapering
Well meaning clip but it really needs some close-ups of what is going on. A static camera isn't really good enough to present the information properly.
Defo a fellow Mancunian?! Thanks good advice x
Thanks very much for the explanation. Much appreciated. Will give it a go now I have less fear of trying.
what if the radiator pipes don't pull away? this is a very presumptuous video
Anyone who has ever bled air from a radiator will know that you close the bleed screw as soon as water spits out instead of air. A closed circuit central heating system is under pressure - anything from 0.8 to 2 Bar. If you release all of that pressure, as stated in the video, it has to go somewhere - all over your carpet as it ejects a stream of inky black water!
Is Karl Pilkington your younger brother?
looks like a solution to something thats not really a problem
Turn off valves Disconnect nut , jam on the wet vac , open vent , 30 second she's dry as Ghandi flip flop job done
I have never removed a Radiator the Tool used sounds good. But surely the point of Removing a Radiator is to get rid of any Sludge in it ? So why would you want to keep the water in it for the sake of the cost adding Inhibitor and saving water..
If you're decorating 🤔
Good video learnt a lot thanks
RUclips is always full of bitch arse haters or test pilots aka know it all...
This was his way of sharing and I as many others thought it was helpful and another method to use.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with this video
Few common problems which could potentially make this device completely useless....no play in pipes, TRV valves not shutting off fully which can be quite common, also any rad that’s too big, being way too heavy with water inside also.
Solid dramatic pause
Could you get away with bunging corks into each end of the rad
is that karl pilkington

How to top up a vailent combi boiler
Hopefully he fixed that boiler Suzannes been harping on about.
Mr K Dilkington
Either thumb it when you take it off with someone or put end caps on and take it off solo
15 years ago I designed a small integrated part to attach to the radiator so it could be removed with the water inside, I was going to have it made 2 years ago but after hunting on the net found that someone has designed one similar to it already, I'm still not sure people have them fitted though, couldn't find it again but I've still got a pic of it
Hello, Would love to see that picture please
Shame on you haters, so you didn’t like it. Think of this video if you get muck on the carpet. You can’t have too many options in the van! You know you will use them compression caps & not replace them!! Then what! Your be draining out muck for 20 minuets & kick the bucket over flipping the rad! Yep I did it! That day I wish I had these!
I buy you inhibitor
That;s all very well, but moving a rad full of water is very heavy.
What a rigmarole!
I’m not a plumber but how could the pipe on the left have so much movement?
I was thinking the same thing
Rather a long winded promo. There are much quicker ways to do it. Once you have the rad off, turn it upside down and take outside to empty. Also , always cap off a TRV, they can open up if it gets cold..
what about a spare pair of rad valves and screw them onto the rad unions as you may not have those fancy gadgits.or better again just freeze the radiator job done.
Can anybody out there help me?! - I've repainted my Radiator with the correct paint..a week later i switched on the Radiator, but the fumes when it gets hot are killing me!...Anyone have any sensible ideas?! - Thanx
open the windows
Leave it on it will eventually disappear.
for real. time that took I would charge the client about a much as the inhibitor cost. oh and saving water...I have just burst out laughing and now my mates are watching. don't listen to this. read the comments please.
👍
Just use a couple of blanking plugs🙄
forget it im off to the pub lol
brilliant

This must be the most complicated way of removing a radiator save your money
sorcery
He never mentioned closing the rad valves before doing anything else.
Listen again, he did.
You didn't explain how you isolated the radiator....
Another one that didn't listen properly.
Search for "Radshifter", now available to move the Radiator , with ease.
Use balloons instead of those membrane and clamp doohickeys
So why not close the valves and unlock one valve drain rad into a bowl replacing water into system tank when rad is re fitted not loosing anti corrosion inhibitors.
No system tank on modern systems
However I usually drain into a square washing up bowel and dump it you do loose some inhibitor , water we have plenty of
fail... take the nut and olives off two 15mm compression caps... those caps will go straight onto the rad tails. job done never leak. them rubber things are a non starter
Spot on Jeremy. A plumber showed me this. Perfect, quick, easy.
why would you need to remove a radiator and save the water, surly if the radiator needs changing your not going to fill it with the old water, and if you need to drain system you dont need your toy, just a bit confused
@Michael Stroud - Usually done when redecorating, so you can paint/wallpaper behind, then replace the radiator. :)
you did not listen to where he said the water has corrosion inhibitor in it which you dont want to lose.
No explanation what this clamp thing is
You drained it
1/2" COPRESSION BRASS PLUGS CHEAPER I'VE BEING DOING THAT FOR YEARS.
A bicycle inner tube will achieve the same thing for a fraction of the price of this gizmo.
This is a commercial for rad clamps. I can remove radiators all day long without draining the system
Miser dude
why? get a wet vac, empty in 5 mins job one
Rubber! I don't use them....meat with meat lololo
...
Is he eating barbeque ribs? If not why is he chopping his lips throughout?
Sorry but it was very boring also that toy was not explained enough
What a load of rubbish, total accident waiting to happen
