- Video footage taken during a short visit to Riverton railway station, north of Adelaide. This station used to be a Bed & Breakfast with accommodation on site but is now a private home and most of the Red Hen railcars shown in this video have been scrapped. Shot in July 2005.
I also remember riding in the Red Hens from Greenfields to Adelaide especially on a hot summer day doors wide open for air they where the good old day's. Now very sad to see these grand old ladies that use to rattle along the tracks just sitting in Riverton doing nothing 😔😔😔
Remember travelling around Adelaide in these rattlers. Great on a hot day with the doors and windows open :-)
Hooking your foot on the door so it would not close. :)
sad to see this old girl sitting there
Better to be here than like so many of the others in Sims Metals scrap yard
Would be nice if these Redhens were preserved by the NRM or SteamRanger instead of just left to rot. In saying that, it also would be awesome if the former train line to Burra via Hamley Bridge and Riverton was restored.
I wonder if they are still there
BLOODY Graffiti a blight on society as I have said before on other sites!😡😠
Yep, just like dogs pissing on a tree trying to claim 'their' turf. 👎💩
Yes it's sad but in saying that ld love to have one of these old redhens rail cars why's that well with Abit of work it wood become my new home keep the out side as is and do up the inside and as well as that remove the engine out at all together and replace it with 2 genartors for power
