Can you do any classes on advance fire techniques? Observation point method, plunging from defilade, etc?
Thatβs in the earlier Machine Gun Theory vid!!
What are the most used methods for shift fire signaling? Hand signals?
Usually radio combined with some sort of visual signal (flare, flaming rock, IR buzzsaw etc), I talk about signals in depth in this video: ruclips.net/video/axeqq2532OE/Π²ΠΈΠ΄Π΅ΠΎ.htmlsi=ekK0dLqfGv9EQkY-
Hooah
You da maaaaaan
Hey how do you guys integrate your Carl Gustavs into an assault? Do you usually put them in the SBF or with the assault element?
SBF 9/10 times
Im curious on how SBF works in Rural areas with minimal high grounds to overlook the AO
Microterrain.
Did you hear about that Native dude whoβs been claiming to be a Ranger in Arizona?
Nah, send me a link
I heard from a marine machinegunner that they sometimes used a thermal optic paired with smoke to hide the SBF and engage them from behind the smoke. Did you have any experience like this tactic employing thermals?
Thatβs interesting, never used that myself. Generally cause itβs pretty difficult to mount a thermal along with a regular optic to a 240 without a special kit but it sounds like a viable technique
β@zachthedangerranger would it be because there was no adequate thermals for MGs? I personally never heard about the regiment running thermals on MGs, only on rifles.
@@ericapiviq6246there is a thermal that was specifically designed for the M240. Also for your original post. That is very suspicious claim because thermals canβt see through smoke well. Thermals generally canβt see through dense smoke, fog, heavy rain or snow, etc. The imager picks up whatβs in the air also. Thermals also canβt see through glass as they just detect the window temp and nothing internal (unless it touches the glass and transfers heat).
β@calebfuller9591 Thanks for the info. I only had experience with M60s and we didn't have optics let alone thermals so I had no idea the smoke would not be able to be seen through
Video was good but annoying with the spitting
