You talking about side plates makes me think of my bro chris,he got hit right above his side plate and died instantly(ramadi 08).I do my nv jogs and walks in the cemetary he's buried at just down the road,we talk alot and i always salute him🇺🇸Good talk man and glad to know my mindset for gear is in the right direction RLTW!!
Your videos have been hugely useful to me. I have been recently moved to the Assistant Gunner position and your MG theory video as well as this video are helping me navigate the unique challenges of the role.
I think the "Mission dictates kit" thing makes sense for Rangers/SOF, but for conventional infantrymen it can be wishful thinking. You really do need the "Carry everything everywhere all the time" mindset because of how last minute/disorganized/chaotic everything is. We never have the luxury of knowing in advance exactly what we'll be doing, but we do know that whatever it is, we need comms, a shitload of ammo/frags, a lot of water, a decent amount of food, lots of medical, (shoot move communicate medicate), armor etc. Infantrymen really ought to have one kit setup than can do everything - attack, defense, patrolling, etc. As well as standardized minimum packing lists for assault packs and rucksacks. An Infantryman's kit is simply going to be big and bulky if they are carrying the things they actually need on their person.
Love the videos. Can you touch on maybe some defensive aspects? Like how to set up a defensive line on an objective? The only time I ever hear about defending is in regard to PB operations. Thanks!
Can you get a current or former 13f on the podcast, seems like a interesting path if they stay as an FO or go the jtac role and what is their career progression in the regiment?
Great content. I have a question, I’m from another U.S. Army unit and I’m kind of old, but I couldn’t get a option 40 contract before due immigration status. I called the 75th Recruiter and I said I am 35 years old trying to go thorough RASP, he said is better for me get my ranger tab first since I’m about to pick E-5 ! So my big question is: Showing up in the regiment as an “insert “ would that affect my carrier and also due the gain older ?

Absolutely, I lightly touch on this in the updated vid I just posted

Great info! Thanks! Any plans doing some CQB/Breaching videos?
Yeah, there will be a battle drill 6 class coming up. Want to do breaching as well, will be more centered around civ breaching tools
@zachthedangerranger great idea!

Where would you put comms?
Back right of the cummerbund or front right in a wing style pouch that sits behind the cummerbund
Did you have to do anything to make the shooters cut plates fit well into a regular JPC. I dont see any dead space and wondering how that is possible.
Nope, they fit just fine
