"Eye Makeup: How to Use an Eyelash Curler
Hi, I'm Patricia Longo and I'm a celebrity makeup artist. I've worked with models from Sports Illustrated like Brooklyn Decker and Julie Henderson to Alex Baldwin at 30 Rock. All those things that experts do that the average person doesn't know how to do we'll learn how to do it on these videos. Using an eyelash curler I know is one of the hardest things to do. Unfortunately for some people they can't do it on themselves. But I'm going to show you a little technique that you can do to actually curl your own lashes without a professional doing it. So if you're looking in the mirror, I always tell people to lift your head just a little bit so that way your lashes are angular. Because if you curl your lashes like this, you're never going to get in there. So I always recommend just lifting your head up just a little bit with the curler I put it right on the cheek and I place it like this. And what it does because your head is lifted you grab the lashes and now you squeeze. And as she lifts her head this way you can go back and look into the mirror and you'll see that I'm actually pumping a little bit to curl the lash. And make sure I got in there and I'm holding it. And I recommend holding it down for 10 seconds. Don't pump too much and always do it before you put mascara. Another thing you can use instead of an eyelash curler is your finger. Sometimes I would just take my thumb and bend her lashes. And that works as well and it's very gentle. And there is a curl."
I thought I had short lashes, but I just found out how to curl them with this tutorial and it made my eyelashes look really long and voluminous

I knew about the hot spoon trick, and the hair dryer trick (heating up the eyelash curler works sort of like a straightener or curler,) but not the thumb trick. Neat how things can be much easier than we initially think it is.

I always manage to bend the lashes on the outer corner of my left eye no matter how carefully I try this -- Not curl, a full-on 90 degree bend! Everywhere else is perfect, but it really messes up the rest of my eyeliner and false lashes (which I know nobody else notices, but I know it's there...)

Eyelashes are long so it makes my eyes naturally look a little downturned did it and it’s so cuuuute now I love it 😆
❤ what a fab tutorial om new to eyelash curling for myself thought I'd try it. Fab tip about titling head at an angle and using thumb as well. I'm left handed and have wonky vision in one of my eyes but I did it and my lashes look fab 😊

maybe try putting mascara on 1st then curl your lashes

when I try to curl my lashes I always grab some if my bottom lashes by accident what do I do to prevent that
Don't close your eyes. Look straight ahead.

The reason why I don't use an eyelash curler is because of a dream. So in real life, I was born with dark, thick, and curly eyelashes. In my dream I used an eyelash curler for the first time, and apparently, some of my eyelashes came out. (Most of them came out and I have a lot of eyelashes) Since I have more eyelashes than most people, the eyelash curler ripped out my (some) of my eyelashes in my dream. And that's why I don't use an eyelash curler.

Curling your eyelashes really has no effect on how you look. No one will notice. Mascara is way more effective
Girl you are missing out on so much! With the correct technique plus mascara your lashes will kill.
That’s why you do both
Actually for asians it does make a big difference by just curling their eyelashes. Most asians have straight eyelashes and if they curl their lashes, it makes their eye more awake, bigger looking.
Sircia Levitt does for me because in photos it looks like i have no lashes but when i use the curler it makes them much much more visible and u get good photos, idk about irl but probably

This is pretty much exactly what I do, I was gifted an eyelash curler because every girl needs one apparently. TBH I don't see any difference. lashes naturally curl up anyway... I really don't understand the point. Its midnight and I was lying in bed thinking " what is even the point of eyelash curlers, maybe i do it wrong" so here I am on youtube...

Just use mega volume mascara boom then you don’t need to have that near eyeball👁👁👁
So you need to add mascara? My lashes spring back within ten seconds.
After you have used the curler, try using your finger to bend them x
Use a blowdryer to heat the curling iron. They will last soo much longer. Also use a pumping motion at the base.
