CHEAP Executive Car - Buying an Old W211 Mercedes E220 CDi - Keeping Old Cars on the Road

I've always been impressed how well the Mercedes W211 stood up to high mileage when sitting in the back of taxis and seeing them with 300,000+ miles, so when I saw my good friend Keith Adams was looking to offload his E220 CDi project to a new home I knew it was going to be my next project.
With so much talk of EVs these days, I thought i'd look into the actual costs of buying an EV and was shocked to find that if you took out HP on a Tesla Model S it would be around £1300 a month with a sizable deposit. How does a 15 year old executive car compare that costs the same as a monthly payment on a new Tesla?
