    No Brasil falamos " cantando". Sugiro o sotaque do Maranhão. Considerado o maís puro e mais neutro. Parabéns pela sua dedicaçã! Abraços aqui do Rio de Janeiro.

    Good luck! I recommend watching Brazilian movies with subtitles. Our cinema is very rich and it's a great way to know and get used to the different accents from the regions of the country. It'd be cool too if you reacted to them ❤

      I moved to portugal, i should do the same. I am just so lazy with learning it.
      Will put on some movies and find a series too, thanks for lighting that desire!

      @@polyglotsjourney Sure! There are: Central Station, Elite Squad, City of God, The Second Mother, A Dog's Will, The Way He Looks, Minha Mãe é Uma Peça, Meu Pé de Laranja Lima, Carandiru, Estômago, Pixote, O Homem do Futuro, O Céu de Suely, Sonhos Roubados. There're many others, but I tried to remember all the good ones I've seen so far 😂

    What if you watched the same episode or film every day? Maybe it would be better. Some language learners actually do this. I never tried.

    • @polyglotsjourney
      @polyglotsjourney  Месяц назад +1

      Great question! I believe that could help, but can be pretty boring. What happens when you're bored is that you loose attention and language device stop working. Unless you watch Friends, or similar epic TV show that is super interesting and remain interesting even after watching it couple of times. 😊

      Well, there are some films that I watched many, many times. And the fact that you understand it more and more in your target language maybe keeps you interested. What I’m sceptical about is its effectiveness when used in the beginning of learning the language. I’m afraid I wouldn’t understand anything.
      By the way, would you understand this comment if it was written in Portuguese?

      @polyglotsjourney  Месяц назад

      Never 😂 I always work on my languages in parallel. Currently, I am learning Chinese, and will be focused on French and Italian, as well. Because my plan in next 2 month is to take DALF C1 and CELI B2 exam 😁

    As a Portuguese native speaker, i can say that Portuguese is really confusing sometimes, and there are lots of difference between Portuguese from Portugal, and Portuguese from Brazil, in brazil we speak with a lot of slangs, informaly so if you want to improve your Portuguese skills try to search for some Brazilian podcast, like "Podpah" or "Flow Podcast" they speak the real Portuguese

      Thanks a lot! I caught a lot of slang on Netflix, as well. Portuguese is really an amazing language. 🤗
