Hi Jane, in the 1939 Register addresses were recorded by street, district and county - this is why searching with a village name may not work. Try using a street name or a postcode, or coordinates. Good luck!

Hi Jeremy, you can swap between a modern day map, 1939 map and the 1880s, so you can see how an area changed over time. We hope this helps!
Be useful if it actually worked. Searching in Rural Somerset is completely useless and whole villages are missing.

@@findmypast I tried the postcode it said there were no houses. It looks iike a whole 5mile radius is all the Place.
