The biggest problem with people moving into rural areas from big cities is that they try to turn the new place into the same thing they left. It's nuts and they wonder why they don't get a warm welcome.

I think you’re absolutely right. With a lot of money a second or third house is bought and when the threes are cut, the whole area reshaped and the locals gone, they end up with an area just as unfulfilling as where they came from in the first place .

@@thecrow3875oh man. Yes. I’ve experienced this over and over. They move in and don’t take any time to feel the neighborhood and decide how to fit in before they start clearing trees. I ended up moving because of it.

The coyotes are protesting Luke. I mean can you blame them. It’s always lone wolf this and lone wolf that. They just want a little recognition, a little love. Now get out there and hand-feed a couple of them. Go!

I have a fondness for coyotes. They howl in one voice and it's great to hear- lets you know you're in the wild. Usually it's at dusk when things quiet down. In Texas you see a lot of them. It's an experience. What's different about these coyotes is they are actually SINGING a tune. (26:50) That is so weird! There's at least one coyote who could audition for the Royal Opera of England.

I always enjoy hearing the coyotes howling when tent camping. Been a few years since my last campout; been recovering from cancer and nearly 3 years of treatments. Plan to go camping with my cousins next summer. Speaking of weather, we've been having heat here in the Pacific Northwest which we're not used to. Finally cooling down. Sure enjoy your videos and listening to your stories and gear reviews. Have a 5-person Coleman tent that does well in storms.

Ha-ha ! I thought keeping notes on my phone would be easier than on paper. No such luck, it takes longer and I still misplace them. I have found out that if it’s important I remember it, if not, not !!
Really, I enjoy the idea of notes, but not making them.

Beautiful!, love the harmony of the insects. We have 40 acres in the boreal forest. Last summer the lack of animals was ever present. Neighbours hear a coyote and it's out with the gun. We usually have bear cruising thru....deer....nothing. we had one coyote who hung around the property. Beautiful video thank U!

Always nice to get away to nature and to your case to your trailer/ cabin and such a gorgeouse area it is i love sitting around a fire it is so relaxing. Sadley a large wild enviromentally sensitive area where I hung out in as a child and up until now has been sold to developer's thank's To out premiers plans to use up Ontario's green spaces for housing and factories , it breaks my heart as there will be nothing left in nature for our future generations to enjoy as we did. and the poor animals that call these areas their home, governments will dystroy our ecosystem. Love the sounds of nature and the habitants. lovley video.

I wanted to add my experience to what you've already gathered in regards to your foot issues.
I've struggled with the same issues, beginning about the time I turned 30. I'm now in my mid-50s and have tried many things to help.
The right footwear is obviously a big help.
Something else that I've tried and had great success with was limiting my grain intake. Especially for a couple of weeks before a big hike or befor going out for several days.
Grains contain phytates and lectins, which inhabit proper gene expression and cause chronic swelling, which causes pain. Also reacts unfavorably with auto immune disorders. I deal with psoratic arthritis. So much of my discomfort comes from that. But I have been diagnosed with Plantar's Faciitis as well.
With all of the grains I normally consume on trail, because of the carb and caloric advantages based on the weight of things like pastas, oatmeal, tortilla chips, and the such.
I know it sounds crazy. It did to me when a friend brought the literature to me, but it works.
Limit grains for 2 weeks prior.
    Slam carbs on trail.
Get off of trail and limit carbs again for as long as you're comfortable doing so. And I'd bet money (no, i wouldn't, I don't bet, but you know what I'm saying lol), that your issues subside dramatically.

I've been watching for years and I like that you still use the Cryo 2. You talk the talk about being agenda and sponsor free and you walk the walk by your actions. I respect that a lot. Not to disparage anyone in the youtube game, but outdoor channels that feature a new knife, or stove, or power station etc... every week, I wonder if they can truly be objective while keeping open the tap of free swag.

When I had new hips and I live alone it’s bas enough getting your socks on. Then just before I was leaving the hospital, I was trying too get my trainers on, then realised, I couldn’t fasten my laces. Mu mum found something in the Caravan and Camping magazine that took all that away. One you got the trainers on ( using a long shoe horn ). There was a wheel at the back of the trainer. You just dragged your foot back and the laces tightened. There was a clip right at the back, that if you touched with the toe of your other foot. Then the laces loosens. They were a life saver as I do live alone.
They are called handsrfee Treksta and they are Gortetex.. 👏👏👏👏🙏🙏❤️🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧

When I was diagnosed with plantar fasci-itis. I got some physical therapy and that did help, but the biggest help of all was when I found a pair of shoes with very padded heels and soles. As long as I wear those shoes, my heel is fine, so I concur with what Luke says about his shoes--padding is key. Most inserts are too thin and so have very little effect on the heel (ask me how I know...)
I love to watch fire--It's so beautiful--as long as it's contained... But it is one of the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

So funny…I just got my kurus today! I’ve been wearing them for about 7 yrs now and I discovered them in Hawaii….lol. I’m a RN and I had Plantar Fasciitis too. Don’t walk barefoot on hardwood or tile floors either. I bought the hiking ones this time.😂

Luke so long as you do not sell lone wolf mountain. It will not change much.
In regrades to coyotes I live in a large city in Michigan. I hear them every night. They get pretty loud!
I’ve seen a coyote wait along the river and when the Canadian geese come in it will launch itself on top of a goose and it over for the goose. Interesting to see.

My wife watches "The Simpsons" every day... she literally cannot go to sleep without having them on the tv in her room (or on her tablet if we're traveling). It's one of the reasons I sleep in another room (in a hammock) :-)

Lovely setup. Almost kinda glamping ;) but I reckon that's what an outdoor spot you call your little paradise should also be! I read some comments below calling out how you maintained and cleared the spot too urbanite, but I don't agree. My buddy insists on letting grass and moss grow over the tiling in front of our wood hut in the forest, and I only see 100 reasons why the tiles are useful.
