Rafael Luque, the Coordinator of the Latin American Vetiver Network discusses (i) the use of the Vetiver System for increasing on-site retention of rainfall for improving soil moisture and groundwater recharge, and to function as firebreaks, and how doing so would enhance reforestation success and forest health; and (ii) his proposal for utilizing the Vetiver System to "Sow Water in the Henri Pittier National Park -- an area being severely affected by wildfires -- in order to prevent forest fires and enhance environmental resilience.
