I remember fishing the backside many a time. Loved listening to that horn in the middle of the night lol. Thanks for doing this. Going to share it with other fishermen
My family took our boat through the channel and picknick on Democrat Point in the 1960's. Loved the place. The coast guard would man a very tall tower station and we would see them come and leave the tower. Once abandoned we would climb to the top and look out over the magnificent view. After one storm an old wooden ship was revealed in one of many 'moon craters' we called them. As teenagers we would have big fires on the beach and grill the fish we caught or the steaks we brought along. Ah, the freedom, then😁
Really does sound like a dream. Freedom and common sense laws( And not a lot of them are priceless) Wish grew up and raised a family on LI from 1920s -60s
In 1995, I went for a run to the end of Fire Island from Saltaire. Seem to remember it was maybe 14-15 miles there and back, although not sure if my memory serves me correctly. I was training for a marathon so needed a long run and I wanted to see where my father enjoyed fishing years earlier. A wonderful though very tiring run! But it looks as if the island are since then. I used to hear about Democrat Point as a kid and wanted to see it. I don't run now but I've been a regular participant in the Great South Bay Swim. No family property on the island now but still a privilege to set foot near the lighthouse albeit briefly. Love that island!
I’m there on average every 2 weeks. Love my surf fishing. I watched a gentleman about 100 yards down of me catch a 54 pound strip bass last week. My cowness! I’ve only seen those in magazines. What a beautiful place. Classy video great job!
@@MrPoseidonSays I went in september, not really knowing what i will find fishing wise, i throw the whole bag and had fun, i didnt make it to roberts moses unfortunately.
seb September good month for fishing. Glad you had a good time. I love the island and Montauk being my favorite. Now fishing the rivers up north on the Hudson. Fishing in the island starts about next month for me if all clears up (corona) Stay safe and see you on the shore line buddy. Happy fishing 😁
That was beautiful. Long Island is beautiful. I remember years ago walking to that rock jeti and it ended not long after. This year I walked back to end from field 2 with my husband and couldn’t believe the extended landscape. We never made it to the end of that peninsula in this video. it was such a long walk. But glad I got to see it in this video. I always wondered what was on the other side. I so appreciate this video. Loved it.
That was quite epic. I only discovered this speech recently when I parked at Robert Moses and walked all the way down. Are you on a special bike with beach wheels?
What an amazing ride! Learned a lot more about beloved Fire Island! Thank you.

Wow, that was epic - thank you. I spend a lot of time on Demo and never seen it depicted that way. Well done!!!
I do this at Smith Point. Walk to the breach, it's only like 2 miles, and you;ll probably be there alone. It's beautiful
Awesome I also love Jones Inlet......well done
That was splendid ! 👏👏👏
Great Video. Very Educational
just awesome great viewpoint
Glad you liked it
Without a doubt one Long Islands best kept secrets ...I have traveled to many places ....this is definitely in my top 10
I used to jet ski there a lot. But now checking out Moriches Inlet and the new Inlet.
Amazing video!
FABULOUS!!!!!!!
Cool video, do you have other aerial pics from the 80s of the sore thumb around overlook and cedar?
I went four wheeling there endlessly circa 1980. Yes, it looks so different now..
Late to the show. But this was amazing.
Where is your gilgo video?! I have lived in Babylon for 4 years now and love some of your videos.
Great video. I was wondering what drone you are using and editing software? I too am a drone pilot. Drone On!
Lumafusion! It is really great app

Ocean hits directly on the mainland from Southampton to Montauk, no problem

Best beach ever .

How does your e-bike not over heat in all that sand riding?
Keeping the wattage under max, time your ride with low tide.
love this. How come more people are/nt there??
It's a secret! ;-) Not always quiet as this video will show... ruclips.net/video/tqu9UgbSF8w/видео.html
I thought captain America was gonna pop out under all that superhero theme in the beginning
That was quite epic. I only discovered this speech recently when I parked at Robert Moses and walked all the way down. Are you on a special bike with beach wheels?
Used to fish there then hit the OBI for cocktails on the a way home.
1:49 million dollar homes the ocean has CONSUMED?
AS the Environmentalists allowed the inlet to narrow it killed of many of the flourishing species that once abundantly populated the Bay
Kite surfing is what this spot is all about now
Too bad its not a secret anymore. This has been my go to place for 35 years. Nice video but its just adding to the problem..
Mushy wave
The highway didn't exist in 1908 either.
Don Lemons type of place
Is it requirement to have dyed hair and a mask on to visit democrat point?
Gilgo Beach bad situation
Ah the irony. New land named after Democrats who claim that for the last thirty years sea levels are rising. Great video none the less.
The "earth" is NOT my mother. How I detest that term. It is so gross.
theres no drone flying at state parks. expect a knock on your door soon
annoying music
HIGHLY ILLEGAL!!!
