A white elephant is a burdensome asset, property, or investment whose cost of upkeep is not in line with its usefulness or value.
The term derives from the old Thai custom of gifting rare, expensive-to-keep white elephants to the reigning monarch.
Nowadays it is often associated with unprofitable real estate.
These assets are often illiquid, meaning the owners cannot easily sell them without taking a substantial loss.

I live in AZ and seen this house a couple of months ago. Anyways I just can't imagine this house will ever appraise for 20 million. I doubt all the stuff they did cost them 10 million.

Agreed. Just like when you put in a 200k backyard, you might get 50k on an appraisal. Good luck. Someone will have to have cash.

@@EscapeToArizona Yep for sure. We always see sports star's houses up for sale here and they take forever to sell. This one isn't even in a great location for super rich people. You would have to love throwing parties to get the most out of this house. Don't get me wrong, house is great and I know I would love it, but hell if I would play 20 million. You could build all this stuff for way cheaper than buying this house.
Edit: BTW there is a video up finally on youtube. Just google it. 12 news channel. About 3 weeks ago.
