Mesa uses to be the cheapest, especially East Mesa, but since all these properties management came involved managing these apartments for landlord that are not from AZ, it's ridiculously high because they are basically ripping people off, with all these extra charges that was never involved in renting, fee for taxes, sewer, trash, water, when most of the apartments are old, and the neighborhood is full of homeless people, drug addicts, . That apartment is metro on main
I lived in that apartment complex in 1991. It was $299. I loved it. (I went to ASU, and worked across the street from that complex). Back in the day, this place just had snowbirds and college students.
I live in Mesa too and my rent increased an extra $700 per month in February. New management took over the end of 2021 and everything increased 80%. Sucks! Most of my neighbors have moved out and every week there’s a Uhaul being loaded. I’ve lived in my apartment for over 12 years and I’m looking to get out as well.

Noticed the nice front pool was closed. Hope the rent increases have slowed down there. Super nice guy to give you a tour. I agree with him, small kitchen and small apartment. It was worth what they used to pay but 850.00 is insane! We've the same problem here in Louisiana with one person renting a place and then it becomes a drug house/smoke house with people coming and going. Kinda depends on the city, I've learned. Thankfully have found a nice 55 and older community that is very strict, I don't mind as I no longer have to deal with sketchy people coming and going. It's a wonderful thing to feel safe. Especially as you get older and are not as spry or able to defend yourself.

Yes, we are in fiesta district in a 2 bedroom one bath. We paid $1000 last year and it went up $200 this year. Place is total shit though, 4 of us (that i know of) have roach infestation and they shut the water off once a week for a couple of hours at a minimum, only half the outlets work, 3 of the washes have been broken for the past 4 months etc etc …plus they added a stupid “valet trash” service for $25 a month 🙄 This area janky af, hella shootings. We are lucky to be able to afford a bit more expensive rent cause paying more for a livable place is soo much more worth it than living here if you can afford it. If you have friends you trust, go in on renting a house!

Price increases are insane!
Rent used to be so cheap in some areas, you could work at McDonalds and afford to have your own place, now you've got to work a very good stable job, like 45k+ gov job or management position or two jobs to afford one.

Dang...might as well rent a house!!
