In this scenario, rebel forces have taken the Majapahit capitol of Trowulan, and Gajah Mada must rescue the king from his palace before he is executed. You really need to hit the ground running fast in this one - just make sure you get all the additional villagers, resources, and military possible. Then, hunker down for a big ol' grind to get the king to safety.

After King Jayanegara was safe, I just bring 4 trebs and amass my army around it. then let the trebs chewing away rebel's houses and productions. After defeating the rebels, I took my time obliterating the entire Trowulan into dust. After roughly 4 hours and no enemy standing, I left wondering why haven't I win yet. Oh right, I need to bring the king to a certain area. Now, where was I put him?
Yup! Same here! 😅 Nothing was left standing. I chopped down all the forest too, ate up all the gold and stone and even turn on my allies just for fun.
Man this is a boring scenario. Did I say scenario? I meant the whole freaking campaign. No wonder why I did literally every other campaign before this one. But as always, you shedding light on this super grindy missions makes it all the more easier for us noobs :)
If not the hardest, longest mission ever!

As a matter of fact, one of the few things we really excel at - besides soccer and petty thefting..

There is a way to cheese the conquest of the city rebel city: if you can destroy the right wall sections, you are free to use your navy in the city's canals and of course the AI answers really poorly (ie.only their onagers try to attack the boats)
water unit is the most OP in campaign mode. Put them in a shallow river, you are clear of invasion from that side.
This seems to have been fixed in newer iterations of the map, don't think it was an option for me. In any case, if you slip down the southeastern end of the city and build docks, you can just use transports to ferry a small attack force to destroy the last fortifications and then ferry the king across, less grindy option overall imo.

Im playing it rn. just noticed the cave. Can you use it or is it just decoration?
I managed this on hard on my second go. I made a TC right away and sent my scouts to explore east and west. Finding new allies in the countryside who gave me tribute i used that money to build a 2nd TC. I then did a limited boom and advanced to the imperial age. I then put 12 villagers on stone, researched the building speed upgrade, bodkin arrow and built a castle infront of the main entrance. I then got two trebuchets out and killed the fortifications before baiting blue into getting killed by my castle. With the last of my ragtag crew i got to the king and managed to escort him to the far north.
It was then a case of surviving against light blue who was relentless. In the end i turtled up with walls and castles, got the militia line food only upgrade, boomed, got 40 vills on food and just pumped out two handed swordsman. I advanced the long way round west with my 2handers + a few trebs. Cleared out the resistance before escorting the king to the flag area.
I preferred this to the first mission which seemed to take FOREVER and where you had no space to build anything!

Came to this vid to see how one manages to get the king. Once the king was rescued (I used petrads on the gate), i got myself 2 castles to anchor my defences and just massed war elephants & send them over to cyan on the left side of the map to wipe them out and carved a path all the way to the flagged area. It was very bloody & a lot of brute forced was used but finally the job was done
There is an easier way to get to the flagged area. Once you've rescued the King and put him somewhere safe, go to the bottom right corner and blow a hole in the corner of the fence and then you have access to a straight run almost to the flags. You just need to stop, build a dock, build a transport and take the King and 9 elephants over to the other side and charge into the flagged area. You may need to build some galleons first to thin out the opposition on the other side.
Both this and the last mission were stupid. Giving Ai endless resources never is a good idea.
At least you can also have extreme amounts of food as malay in this mission, trade with the guy on the north for gold and fishes if you are close to running out of wood in safe areas
Hey man. Great vid. I hope someday you will finish the Le Loi - Vietnamese campaign. It seems like a quite difficult one. But hope you'll not get pissed off since the Vietnamese voice is the loudest in the game :)))
I am doing all the campaigns in chronological order (minus the brand new ones with DE which I did first), so Le Loi is actually next :)

I hate this mission. Played it twice today and the stupid king died twice. Second time around it didn't even involve me either. I don't like missions that can be determined outside of your actions. Like losing to an egg timer.

You could actaluly swing through he left flank of Troluwan. The Rebels' base. Pretty weak in walling and defense comparatively.
I've down it that way before, and I think it honestly takes around the same amount of time. Yes the rebel base is weaker, but you are also having to go literally all the way around the map. It's totally possible though!
@@OrnLu_AoE I wonder how long it would take you to do it the other way, that is to say swing to the right flank of Trowulan and just ferry troops/the king across to the end point. I did it like that in 90 minutes (game time), but don't play nearly as fast as you do.

Ohh you can just bumrush into the king. I tried to kill everything in the middle gate and got annihilated.
This is not the intended way to play this mission. You are not supposed to obliterate all enemies on the way.
I had way more fun and easy time sneaking out my king by hugging the south eastern wall, cross to the south land using transport ship and making run for the target area with help of few distractions 😂😂
Now. you can speak Indonesian :v

i played this elephant only (hardest)
a "rushable" mission, 20min average, take all your villager and build a siege workshop where you start near the 2 teal camp, make a couple ram, when you get the next reinforcement send your ram to destroy the gate, you might need to send unit to make onager move out of the gate so they dont destroy your ram, then when its down rush in, then with the king you fall back, idk if troops are static or spawning, i had to let my army behind bridge a while to take them down then move to the right gather a few villager too, destroy the wooden wall at the river make a dock, pass the little river, then depanding on what is left of the army, this place is tricky save and make your way in, with the units just send them to distract and your hero take the arrow from tower and castle for the king that sneak in, with the king you can pass litterally behind everything even if there are some bush they are passable, but the canon tower right there is a bitch moving too close its easy to take a canon in the face so move in carefuly
